Just connect the two wires, right? Was there something that happened there that I did not see? Why do all of that when you just need positive and common and plug it in?
First one is a total waste of 555, this can be easily achieved with several npn transistors... it didn't even utilize 555, you just used it as a transistor

He used 12v dc input. For a bulb rated 220v AC. That's why he needed the Inverter.
