      Hey there again Jesse! Wow… I actually didn’t know that haha. I love that people are sharing good info on the channel 🙌🙌🙌. Would be cool to see quantum bring out a Haibo bfs reel but I think the braking system was trademarked by Ark and so that might cause some issues? In any case, I bet those quantum reels are pretty good. Cheers my friend!

    I've been using my new Haibo Air for the last few trips. It feels smoother than my Acura. I'd say its the closest best feeling to the JDM reels that I have.

      Hey Brazilian! That’s awesome to hear! I wonder if you got an arise with the updated main gear and pinion 🤔. Mine is smooth but just not as smooth as the Acura I have. In any case, I do agree that the reel feels like it is at the very least the level of say a daiwa tatula or similar tier reels but at a much more affordable price and much more capable in bfs terms. Anyhow, awesome to hear you’re enjoying yours and cheers my friend!

      Hey Steve! The knobs are definitely removable but you will need to get something thin enough and strong enough to remove the knob caps. Have you looked at ark gravity g5 reel?. It looks like it uses the same brake system.

    • @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL
      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Vue! I actually did notice that yesterday haha. Funnily enough the original aliexpress shop I bought the reel from was told not to ship this reel to the US. I believe what’s happening is Haibo is the OEM for Ark and their gravity reels. The gravity reels look to be essentially Arise reels in a different looking body. The Gravity reels aren’t quite BFS reels and have slightly inferior specs to the arise air and have a higher price. I’d still take this arise air over those reels if you can get a hold of one and are in the US. Apparently, Ark has patented the brake design which is interesting to me because I am guessing that Haibo is their OEM. Anywho, thanks so much for bringing this to my attention and cheers my friend!

      Hey original! Hm for a slow glass rod you’d probably want to look at a solid glass rod but… it might be too much of a noodle haha. If you want what I consider a good all around glass rod for flick casting then you can look at the dankung glassfin, or the aioushi unidirectional glass rods on aliexpress. Glassfin can be found on dankung.com has a bit questionable build quality but is the fastest s-glass CDM rod I’ve found so far. The aioushi is a close second. Imho, stay away from the noodles lol… unless you really want a noodle. If that’s the case then the lemoren windshadow might be the rod for you. Great work with the bearing research. Looking forward to what you find. Tried the Air with the Tsu Clever c552ul last evening about a half hour before dark. Humid w/light winds, I still had problems w/loading under 3g. Brakes are a pita for old guy using lite lines. However, really do like the design of the external brake knob. Less chance accidentally changing the setting for right hander like me when shifting hands, which is an issue with the Acura. I did notice that I may be having problems with tension. After catch a fish, always have problem with overruns next few casts. Line is not smoothly out-flowing the reel?? Anyway, if possible will switch to the Teton 662l today and try to gather some more input. Good news! Crappie were biting last night. Bass, cautious and not so much. 🤣Cheers.

      Now this was last evening actually throwing 2g. Started at default setting which I believe was rotor II. That was not good, best setting was max external of rotor II but still overwrapping. So shifted to rotor III at max external and worked down from throwing about 10 ft. max external. Got down to III min external and started with the bird nests again. Still working to get away for another try this eve. Did switch to 3g just for last few tosses seemed better, but honestly not much different. Do appreciate the support.

So far of the ones I have used they all seem to perform well enough but I do feel that superlube needs to be replaced a bit sooner than the Shimano and iOS grease. • @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL
      @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey sidewinder! The reel I briefly showed at the end is the Soloking Acura. Likely that was the old version as this video is a bit older now. As far as fishing videos go you’re correct in that you don’t see many. In the interest of time and my sanity/enjoyment of fishing I tend to not make actual fishing videos as the observations there are almost purely subjective. I had a long time struggling on whether or not to make fishing videos and I’ve sort of started to give in with a few on the channel. These videos also take considerably more time to edit for me so they often get backed up in the queue. As it stands, I have a good handful that
      I need to edit so you may see some coming out soon. In these videos, I don’t concentrate on fishing and instead concentrate on casting various lure weights to give you guys an idea of what to expect. That being said, it’s still 100% subjective and catered to my setup and my casting abilities and other environmental factors so… my casting videos all need to be taken with that into consideration. Unfortunately, my channel isn’t really geared towards the entertainment side of things and more on the educational and informational side so I aim to try to be as objective as possible. I hope that makes sense and that you understand a bit more of the goals of the channel and why there aren’t all that many actual on the water videos but you should see more shortly. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding with this as it’s really been a challenge for me haha. I am but an amateur video editor with limited time(aren’t we all though…). @BFSFISHINGCHANNEL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Irvin! This is indeed a CDM reel. I do not know if it is considered too if the line but it is fairly high I believe. As far as your question about the gear machining it does appear to look like the machining is very good. Is it similar to micromodule or digigear I am not sure as Shimano and daiwas marketing doesn’t quite explain what they’ve actually done to make their gears considered micromodule or digigear. The gears of this reel are smooth with a hint of roughness most likely coming from an improperly shimmed worm shaft. I will try to shim mine correctly and see if that improves the smoothness. That being said it is smooth. I wish I could somehow convey what I mean but words and video can only do so much… hope that helps though and cheers!

      Very odd… are both links acting up for you out of curiosity?

      @@josephmorin1098 interesting it appears the second link I posted for some reason their title is in Spanish. The description is in English though for me. The first link I just checked is in English.

    Well said, I can't get over how ugly it is. Maybe in hand it would grow on me.

      Hey Abel! Haha yea it’s not a looker for sure… there are some angles that aren’t too bad but that asymmetrical top view is a bit meh… that aside the reel is actually quite nice so if you can get over the looks then imho you have a very nice well made well spec’d reel for the money. In my limited casting tests it’s not too bad either. It doesn’t quite like 0.6g as much as my 22’ Aldebaran bfs with a KKR spool or my Soloking Acura with roro bearings but it is completely stock and performing at about 90-95% of what those reels are getting in terms of distance. Quite respectable. I tested 1g and wow does it shine there. I’d say performance is equal to the other two mentioned reels. I need to do some more back to back testing but it’s a solid performer so far. PS if you’re in the states and are on the fence in getting one my suggestion is to decide soon as it seems like they’re selling out fast but also the shop I purchased from will no longer sell to the states for certain reasons. Go look at the Ark gravity and I think you’ll understand why. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!
