"There are so many heart-wrenching and beautiful parts of this story, it’s hard to know where to begin.
Right after my lovely friend Joy found out she was pregnant, she was also diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes. They told her it was unlikely the baby would survive to term, and if he did, he would have severe birth defects. They advised her to abort him.
As the baby developed in her growing belly, the doctors couldn’t find part of his brain. After this scary appointment, in the middle of uncertainty, this is what Joy wrote: "It is the being held together in perfect peace, not in perfect place, that is the miracle after all.”
During her third trimester, I played my song “Missing Peace” for her and her husband Donny as they sat on the couch in our living room. The song finished and with tears in her eyes, Joy said, “This song is my story.” She asked if she could document the rest of her pregnancy and delivery with the intention of setting the footage to my song.
At the time, none of us knew how things would turn out.
A few hours before the baby was born, Joy wrote, “I don’t know how this night will end or what awaits us on the other side of the birth, but I do know that the pain coming is a necessary step in the journey toward finding out. In just a few hours I will meet my son, and however he has been woven I know the weaving was done exactly to plan by the most masterful artist - for His glory and my good.”
And then, to the astonishment of every doctor in the room, Webb Isaiah Prouty was born completely healthy. Praise be to God.
I wish every story could end this way, but there are so many times in life when we find ourselves in the middle of the unknown. And sometimes the unknown turns into heartbreak and tragedy. There are no answers in those moments, only the hope of Peace Himself. Jesus is our missing peace.

Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. The mother’s words are the honest to God truth. While this story was placed with this song, any story, dealing with a struggle, could go with the words of this song.
I have Lupus, Sjogren’s, Degenerate Disk Disease, Adrenal Insufficiency, Raynauds, Hashimoto’s, serious thyroid and hormonal issues. I also have heart problems, gastroparesis, previously thyroid cancer with removal of my entire thyroid and SO many more. This song can be for those fighting: diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disease, heart attacks, the replacement of organs, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s Disease and so on and so on.
Listening to the words, I envisioned my story over the last seven years. I’ve had diagnosis after diagnosis. Surgery upon surgery upon surgery upon surgery. I almost died of a severe DVT and multiple bilateral and a saddle PE. I previously worked in the medical field and actually had to tell the doctor, I was certain I had the DVT (with the calf pain) and I was pretty sure I had PE’s ( chest pain and pressure and for the fact that I had syncope and upon firefighters arriving I had 60% oxygen saturation when normal is nearer to 100%.) This was the start of the most severe medical incidents in my life and it very nearly cost me my life.
What matters is learning from what has been placed before you. Do you live life in a different way or stay the same? For me, it changed the way that I saw everything. It made appreciate every day thereafter and made me take one day at a time. You can lose yourself in all of the changes and devastation one goes through. I was surrounded in darkness and fighting depression & anxiety, and had to climb out of the hole that had been dug. I could have stayed in there and stayed closed in my room, however, it takes longer to put yourself back together after you’ve fallen then it does to fall apart. I have found when you fall that far in to the hole and the dirt has fallen in, it takes me so long to start to be “back to a more normal”, than if I just try to not get that far.
I hope that anyone who listens to this beautiful new song, listens to the words and that it gives them the courage to feel better. Yes, you have whatever has happened to you: a death, loss of a loved one, medical issue, friend or family with cancer, loss of job, losing a friendship or family member over something stupid etc. Only the person with the disease, issue, loss etc can truly change the situation they are in, of course supported by friends or family, with changing the way they think. This is one of the hardest lessons I have ever had to learn and accomplish.
You grow up responding the same way with most things. Of course, depending on your life, this way changes by what you experience as you change but they are not usually a drastic change for the majority. You can live every day like it’s brand new, without the issues of yesterday hampering you.
Tomorrow is always fresh
with no mistakes in it.

I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 30 weeks. Whereas my story will never be shared showing Gods provision from the pulpit on a Sunday. God didn’t heal me. I delivered my baby at 32 weeks or we both would have died. But little miracles were along the way. A beautiful vaginal delivery. An uneventful (no less painful) 32 days in NICU and now he is almost 3 years old.
My kidneys failed 2 years ago. Last year, after many infections and several walks through the valley of the shadow of death, my kidneys were both removed. Life is very hard now. I still have several known and unknown steps before I can be on the kidney transplant list. This song is so perfect - so encouraging. Thank you! I want to learn to play and sing it for church to encourage others. (Joy was my mom's name, too. She's been in heaven almost 4 years now. ❤)

I remember all the battle had to face in the beginning of pregnancy that was high risk almost losing my baby now I am 37 weeks not high risk but just praying for God watch over me and my daughter

Thank you for the video. I can relate to it since I had had diabetes for 20 years when I delivered my son and i have still been fighting it for 40 years. It was a miracle. He had glucose 0.3 -0.9 mmol/l for 5 days after delivery but now he is a healthy 19 year old boy. He is a miracle, mercy from God. I like your singing. Thank you.

JJ and Dave, I wish there was a way to tell you what your music and podcasts have meant to me and my family during our daughter’s three plus year battle with Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer - from Braver Still on my daughter’s playlist over three years ago the night of her first diagnosis, to Unbreakable Heart the last week in December, when I wanted to shut down and withdraw, to You Already Know being my youngest, 19 year old son’s go-to song the day his sister went to Heaven a week ago, to this song today, I’m listening to and watching after hearing this week’s Instrumental podcast. And this morning as our family gathers 6 kids - (well, five now), just like Joy’s family, your more lighthearted tender songs was just the thing during breakfast together, after a very heavy week filled with heavy, deep dings (which we needed.) Just know, you are touching lives every where. And it’s very obvious, that is your desire! It’s working! Thank you!

We lost two pregnancies last year a singleton and twins. My first pregnancy ended suddenly two months early due to preeclampsia. That little girl is the sweetest miracle! I'm scared to pieces to try again after so much pregnancy troubles, but know I need to try again one more time.

Now pregnant for the 4th time and having our baby in a few months this is so beautiful, God is hope.
I know now this song was written for a pregnant Mama and her struggle, but when I heard it the first time, I was only listening and didn't see the video. It spoke to every fiber of my being. I lost my father earlier this year to what is appearing more and more like a hospital error. I felt like this song was telling my story!
