Villette is my favorite book. I tend to read it when things are not going well, not as a cheerful escape, but instead to just feel understood. It has a great portrayal of depression. I love Lucy so much.
You can NEVER have enough copies of your favorite book! I have 18 different editions of The Stand, in 3 languages and if I ever see another one I don't have, it's going to be mine!
Seriously, why is no one discussing 'Hidden Signs of the Universe by Olivia Cooper'? This forbidden book is a goldmine of knowledge that can sincerely change your life
some unsolicited advice here: my boyfriend and I have a shared apple calendar and it works so well to keep each other in the loop. Obviously doesn't replace a physical calendar, but I personally feel like I am making plans a lot when the only calendar I have access to is my phone so
Count of Monte cristo, was the first big classic I ever read and absolutely loved it! My grandmother recommended it and got it for me so it will forever hold a special place in my heart, I miss her everyday, and I wish I had kept the copy she got me, it wasn’t old but it would have been nice to have still.
Exactly. We have a planner that stays open to the month with a pen ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. It stays It’s a must and that’s just for hubby and me and dog and it’s a must lol
i kept hearing about queen abundance secrets from the women in my circle, and at first, i brushed it off as another ebook trend. but when one of them started manifesting her dream life, like literally booking vacations and getting raises, i couldn’t ignore it anymore. it’s not about quick fixes or cheesy advice-it’s about using your feminine energy to create alignment with what you want. if you’re feeling like life isn’t quite flowing the way you want, this might be worth a look. it’s been a game-changer for people around me.
so my friends kept raving about this ebook queen abundance secrets and honestly, i was like, “okay, another self-help thing.” but then i started seeing how much they were glowing-one of them landed her dream job, and another finally started that side hustle she’d been talking about for years. it’s not over the top or anything, but you can tell their energy is different. if you’re curious about manifesting abundance and leaning into your feminine energy, it might be worth checking out-it really clicked for them.
I’m finishing Beg, Borrow, or Steal right now. I have 15 pages left. I’ve laughed and cried so much. It sent me on a heartbreaking journey through memory lane bc of Jack. I connected to both the characters way too much. I hope you love it too.
One italian summer was one of my fav reads last year 😊 Dont expect a romance novel but it gave me the feeling like I was on holiday by the mediterranean sea
This was so much fun! That planner! So pretty. I love all of the Brontë sisters books. I am going to get that version of Count of Monte Christo. One of my favorite classics, which I need to reread
i’m currently reading the ministry of time. so different than anything i’ve ever read. i’m enjoying it a lot. update: finished it. 5⭐️ read! amazing. i still feel so attached to the characters & the whole story. & to know she brought nonfiction into a fiction book. she did it so flawlessly. i hope you love it!
5:15 One of my special interests as a neurodiverse person is planners, trust me when I say, I have spent more than 35 dollars a year on planners, pens, stickers, washi tape, and highlighters. I have a beautiful edition of Little Women that I found on my mom’s bookshelf, and a really old hard cover of Uncle Toms Cabin. I added them to my Running list of Classic books I want to get to this year or next. I am knee deep in War and Peace, I have to finish it by 31st of August, which means I will have read it in a year. I want to know what book you finally found! Waiting for the end of the video haul! Thanks to Ian I made lists of my TBRs, including my 25 for 25. Yes I cheated and put some series on them. Then I made the following lists: classics I am closing in on 30, a 11 non-fiction fiction book list, a film studies special project book list that I want to write about, a list of anticipated releases for the next year, rereads, Shakesphere plays, and daily meditations readings. Yeah. I should go no buy except for the ones on my list. Now I will die laughing at myself. Calendar does not have Portland, so I will bypass it. My brother who loves taking pictures of dilapidated barns and farms made us a calendar of his photos this year. Unexpected win for Christmas for us,. He is a great photographer, but everyone with a smart phone thinks they’re one. He could not make a living as a professional photographer when he tried. So, unfortunately it is now a hobby.
Jane Eyre was one of my favorite reads of 2024! I loved it so much that I immediately went to Wuthering Heights (assuming naively that because Emily was related to Charlotte, I'd love it just as much...not the case). I'm now reading Tenant of Wildfell Hall and it's currently sitting at #2 fave of the Bronte works!
Love all the classic books you got. It would be cool to maybe do a classic series. Maybe feature classic books each week. Tell a little bit about the history of the books etc.
I collect different editions of Little Women too! I think I have about 17 now ! The pink one you showed earlier I got for Christmas this year and the edition your brother got you I found in a book warehouse in South Carolina! It made my heart smile to see them both.
Jane Eyre is my favourite book, it’s so beautifully written. If you like historical books Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series is amazing, but there are some naughty bits in them, which you can skip if you want to. Phillipa Gregory’s Plantagenet and Tudor series are also very good, if you want to learn about some English history. John Jakes’ North and South trilogy, which I read when I was a teenager (15/16) which is American history again brilliant books.
I was so happy to see you pick up The Dinner List - it is my favorite Rebecca Serle book so far. I've also read In Five Years and One Italian Summer. Would love to know your thoughts on it. It would be cool to see how you set up your planner. Happy New Year!
Thanks for sharing! Definitely adding all of these to my list. I just finished reading this phenomenal collection of fairy tales entitled ‘Sillies, Fancies and Trifles’ - it was just brilliant and perfect for the season. I think you would really love it. Keep up the great vids :)

not gonna lie, i thought the whole “manifest your dream life” thing was a bit overhyped until a friend handed me queen abundance secrets. i wasn’t expecting much, but all the women i know who read it are thriving-they’re more intentional, more aware of their energy, and are seeing big shifts in their lives. one of them even started attracting opportunities she’d been chasing for years. it’s not some magic fix, but it definitely helps you see things differently. if you’ve ever felt stuck or disconnected, it might help you level up.
Never have I ever seen a bowlero sponsor 😂 I’m curious to see what you think about Crowns of Nyaxia. There is a lot of vampire spice I hope you know that!
Such a fun haul! That copy of little women is gorgeous! Just a heads up on clothbound classics, the patterned print on them comes off really easily. They're great for displaying but don't actually hold up to being read very well. The quality doesn't match the price tag. There's a few videos on this as well as people recommending other classics collections :) just wanted to warn you in case you ended up disappointed!
Oh my gosh 😂, that was totally the Lord’s hand being, here you go Ash, you deserve some highlighters. Btw. Wuthering heights was so good, I cried, and I recommend watching one of the adaptations after you read it, to be in the feels.
Loved your unbridled excitement at the book store, haha you’re so fun and cute! 😂 I picked up The Dinner List on a whim at Goodwill so I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts if you read it before me (you probably will, haha). Ooo I can’t wait to read A Sea of Unspoken Things! I’m obsessed with that Brontë sisters collection, what a great gift!! I’m planning to read either Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights this year, or maybe both, we’ll see. And I got that exact edition of The Count of Monte Cristo for Christmas and plan to read that this year as well!
The clothbound classics are pretty but be careful if those are the editions you will read from because the design rubs off easily with handling and wear, if you didn't already know.
Your bad mood is better than mine lol I've been told I make a scary back off face... I enjoyed this vlog, has me questioning what my book tastes are, I would like to expand more into older classics. I have a bad habit though where I struggle to DNF because I'm too afraid of hurting the author's feelings, as if they have spidey sense that someone put their book down lol I know...I know...
in five years / the dinner list : OMG! I read these SO FAST! I was crying so much! I loved them!!!! then everyone was hyping the audiobook for one Italian summer cause heather graham was narrating it, (Gilmore mama) but.. it did NOT work for me D: I felt like she just tried WAY too hard to make even HAPPY moments in the book feel nearly suicidally depressing. ugh. I need to reread it physically.
Just thought another vlog off Twilight series since you did for Harry Potter books and movies im a big huge fan off yours and your husband also. Just FYI tell your husband too get his hair cut his hair is too long and shave off his beard when is the last time he does keep clean shave without him kissing you. 😊😊

You can get the zebra highlighters at Michaels for cheaper! They have smaller packs and you can always use the 30% coupon they have online:)
It pays to not plan 😂 I always have such a great time while watching your videos ❤
You can NEVER have enough copies of your favorite book! I have 18 different editions of The Stand, in 3 languages and if I ever see another one I don't have, it's going to be mine!
I got a giftcard for Barnes & Noble and I'm going tomorrow 😍 You're making me more excited!!
You’re going to have such a fun time!! 🤩
Vilette and Jane Eyre are two of my favorite book of all time!
Seriously, why is no one discussing 'Hidden Signs of the Universe by Olivia Cooper'? This forbidden book is a goldmine of knowledge that can sincerely change your life
You were so chaotic at the bookstore but it was so adorable 😂❤️
I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I was definitely in my element! 😂

I can’t wait to see you read The Count of Monte Cristo!! It’s one of my favorite books ever!!
That cover of Little Women is gorgeous!😍I absolutely love Little women, it’s my favorite classic!🥹🫶🏻
To quote Joey from Friends, just how little are these women? 🤣🤣
My house survives off our calendar! Such a necessity to keep in the kitchen and keep track of where everyone’s going when 😊
Exactly. We have a planner that stays open to the month with a pen ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. It stays It’s a must and that’s just for hubby and me and dog and it’s a must lol
I would recommend actually reading the cheap penguin editions and have the clothbound for the library. Reading those clothbound copies is so hard
The sticker shock over highlighters is REAL.
the switch : I feel like yer going to LOVE it. I remember it just being SO cute with the grandma, and so wholesome and just like a warm hug
I love watching this channel over the years.
Yay Ashlynn uploaded I hope you LOVE your new books!!! Wishing everybody a Happy weekend

Would I need to read the other 2 books in the interconnected series?
@ not really. The others add to the story but each book explains things that happened in the others so they can stand alone.
@@DianaWodnoff great, thanks!
this actually made my dayyy!!
The reaction to the highlighters was hilarious. "When did we.... lose touch" 😂
The highlighters are probably cheaper on Amazon

i got the same version of the count!! i’m on page 200 and loving it!!
This year I will definitely be reading yours and Ian's favourite books. Love your vlogs 🥰

I ADORE The Tennant of Wildfell Hall!!
I think you should do a video reading Kristin Hannah books! If you haven't read any by her yet I think you'd love them ❤
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is eye-opening. I have those cloth bounds too!
great expectations: omg my fav classic! some AMAZING characters in there!!!
Happy New Year! Nice Barnes & Noble Haul!
I was so happy to see you pick up The Dinner List - it is my favorite Rebecca Serle book so far. I've also read In Five Years and One Italian Summer. Would love to know your thoughts on it.
It would be cool to see how you set up your planner.

Wow that's quite a book haul. Your B&N is gorgeous. Also, your nails look so pretty Ashlynn. 😍
7:04 I read the Fable series by Adrienne Young last year and I absolutely loved it.
I'm planning on reading all her backlogs this year hopefully
Excited. I am going to read a few of the same books.
I'm so excited to hear that!! Hopefully, we’ll both enjoy them!

Six scorched roses is SO GOOD. it has nothing to do with the rest of the series! So you could read it first ;)
Hello where did you get your black bag i am looking for one just like that. Thanks

Just a warning; this Sarah Adams book will not be clean like most of her previous ones. I’ve been told there are several spice scenes. Don’t want you to be blindsided like many are being. 🫶
NOOOOOOOOO😭😭😭😭 thank you so much for letting me know!
@ of course! It sucks to be blindsided by that stuff. I was so sad about it too! Sorry girl! 🫶
An awesome clean romance I think you’d love though is Love & Other Goals by Tracy Baack! 💗
I also heard it takes place during the summer, so no cute school interactions or cute kids
After hearing about the spice I had to pass either way
@ ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
the new sarah adams book has two spice scenes but they are not explicit at all, plus. she tells you which chapters (at the beginning of the book) they are located in case you don’t want to read those scenes
