@@michaelowen3061 Oh wow! Never knew that! We have pictures of her build starting from feb 2004 and a video of the flipping. Along our travels we have met someone who was doing their apprentiseship with MEC and Shining Light was one of their first builds.
You might want to fit a HD rubber rubbing strip along the hull outers as metal and concrete can gouge you metal . Failling that fling out some storm fenders aka old tyres from the walls.😂
We have fenders onboard and do put them out for longer lengths of time but currently cruising Australia and the public jetty and fuel wharfs are really good and almost all have had wharf fenders. A few sisterships have the rubbing strips along the bottom 🤗💜 💙💙 Cait
@@sailingwiththejamess Hi Cait ...ive seen some horrible damage done to boats in old harbours and warfs in bad swells and storms.. fenders tend to get lifted up if the waves are bad and we get big tidal ranges in places . Ive also seen cats trying to squeeze through locks in other places. They often resort to strapping planks to the sides.. to prevent damage and allow the boats to slide through or up and down the lock walls. Not sure theres any in Australia 🌏🦘
I personally know of only a few, but yes we love this boat and will definitely be throwing fenders out for situations like that! She's been amazing to us and we are stoked to take her around the globe 🌎 ♥️ 💜💜 -Cait

Your crowther cat was the only sailing boat MEC ever built all the rest were big power cats .
