It always amazes me watching you dig… I’m in New England and we have about 3.5 inches of top soil(rather than 3.5 feet)… and then it’s a minefield of 6 inch to 3 foot diameter boulders. Haha
This was a big project and the 1025R did great
There is no better way a dad can spend money on their kids, 4H is a phenomenal program from livestock to baking, photography to shooting sports!!! Keep up the hard work and great content. 👍
As an ag teacher I just want to say thank you to this dad. He is absolutely correct in "raising good kids" is dead on what FFA and 4H are all about.
Great equipment tag-team between the Deere and Ventrac.
The boy were have you been only to be found at the end of the work. That is exactly how my kids do it lol. Great video Tim and Kristy. I need one or two of those hydrants and the up grade 1025 hydro pump lol
Cool project. Not so easy to trenching in that bad area. Backhoe saved the day. Thanks for sharing!.
Wow that's awesome 3.5 feet of top soil
As the old saying goes: “you never know what you’re going to run into” again, is proven correct. Enjoyed the discussion about responsibilities for young folks and the great life lessons to be learned. Christy’s Scripture selection was right on! Great job to all, and thanks for sharing not only the tasks, but the life lessons as well. Blessings.
Pretty smooth with the backhoe Tim.
Nice video tim and kristie and nice job with the right equipment it goes really fast and easy 👍👍
It's really nice to see even limitations with the ventrac and backhoe. Sometimes mother nature throws curve balls and you have to make do. Great video.
Nice job guys (& Christy) on this episode. I need to add a water line on the property. Thanks for the info. Have a great day
I remember the hydroplus video and it does look very handy. My dealer told me to wait until the tractor is out of warranty before installing anything like that.
That trencher is getting a work out lol rock saw haha
Tim if you just need that extra few inches. Raise your stabilizers, Curl your loader bucket down and raise the front tires up off the ground, reset the stabilizers and it'll give you the slight reach you need.
Great video Tim 🚜🇺🇲 another great job 🇺🇲
Sending a shout from Brantford Ontario Canada 🇨🇦, chessburgers are delicious 😋 😀 😊.
Here in Florida we always go a shovel full deep for a water spigot
When I dug my water line to my shop in June of '19 I went as deep as my 260B would go(6ft 2in) and put 2in pink polystyrene foam(11in wide) in a 12 in trench, over the pipes full 200ft distance for added insurance against freezing in east central MN.
Love your videos, so informative and educational. My wife would rather I not watch cause after the video I usually want to go by another attachment!!. The finance committee puts the shut down on each request. I really wish now I would have got a backhoe with my 1025r but I didn’t
Love it! This is the TTWT I started watching. ie A guy justifying the purchase of a tractor by doing side jobs with it.
Tim love your channel! you could try moving the tractor away from the hole to be able to extend that boom out and use the curl instead of the lift to chip away the part you're hand digging. As you know your digging power is in the curl not the lift and when you get to close you lose all your curl because you can't get the angle right w/o stretching that boom out. Good luck on the next one!
Very nice!
Tim, have you ever considered burying a tracer wire with the plastic pipe so if the line needs to be located in the future it's a simpler task? You would have to have a utility locator hook onto the wire to be able to trace it, but would take the guess work out of it. The location and aprox depth can be marked.
Still in topsoil and I’m 3.5’ down…that’s never been said here on my place🤣
Our plumbing contractor and good friend died in a fairly innocent looking 6' deep trench some years ago ( no shoring). He was down at the bottom of the trench fitting pipe when one side let go. I've been in many deeper trenches and also in between a lot of 8-10' high foundation walls& bank stripping forms or installing drain tile etc, so I'm no preacher on it! After my friend's accident we were more careful.
A five foot trench might be safe for a careful adult, not so much for a young person or a shorter adult.
The young fellow had the right idea, leave it to the adults!
One of my best friends lost his father that way when he was only 6 years old and the youngest of 4 kids, the oldest was 17. His employee working the backhoe afwards said "If only I had pulled him up with the showel, then he would still be alive, even with broken legs and more"
Just what that equipment is made for……. Good job.
Looks like a great day to chew up some concrete. Good to see Christy back in front of the camera, if it was only to find some rocks. Happy 4th of July all. 🎆🎇
More cheeseburgers would reduce the backhoe picking up the tractor. Cheeseburgers are now a job site requirement.
Oh the memories of 4H when I was growing up. Those hampshires look pretty decent. It will be nice to have a couple of trimming stands on that old concrete pad by the wash area. Are the shows back on down there? The last few fairs that are still around here haven’t fully committed yet.
Yep. All of the county fairs and state fair are on here in Indiana! We're essentially back to normal!
Fill up the front bucket too get more front hewy . 😏😊
🔥🔥🔥 LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU AT THE EXPO 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
MR TIM ,
BACK DRAG WITH BACK OF LOADER BUCKET ALL WAY
Thanks. Thats why you need backup equipment. Trencher not working, use backhoe. Happy Fourth from Blue Ridge Mtns of Va.
Is it possible to reverse those jd buckets to dig against walls?
Nice job and I really think you need to get the flow up for the backhoe
Me too! :-)
Are you thinking about installing one of Kevin's pumps on your 1025R? I know I'm considering it. Just haven't been able to pull the trigger on it.
If not for our TH-cam channel and all of the ramifications related to it, I would have already installed the hydrosplus 9+ kit.
@@TractorTimewithTim Got ya... Thanks for the reply. I'm about ready to pull the trigger.
When you suggested that kid do some digging he disappeared faster than a cheeseburger in Tim's hand. :-)
Can you put the bucket on backwards? We do at work when we need to clean out the hole better?
Curious why you didn't use trenching bucket. Btw raising those youngns right. I fondly remember my youth on the farm.
Wanted larger trench so that we could get down in there.
Our water table is to high for any self draining water hydrant System
Locate services don't locate on the private side of the meter, but if you were smart and installed a a tracer wire on all your utilities and alot of times if you slip the locator on site 30-40 bucks they'll hit your private stuff for ya!
What, You didn’t get Hanna and Adeline out there? lol 😂
That’s my next thing Hydroplus maybe January or February
Remember code ttwt!
I'm not getting in no hole after Taco Tuesday.
Does anyone know if JD ever responded to wether or not the hydrosplus will void warranty?
They said only if they could prove that the hydrosplus kit was at fault.
@@TractorTimewithTim thanks for the reply and all your videos, have helped me tremendous in my decisions on which products and attachments I buy. Looks like I will be ordering the hydrosplus. Thanks again, God bless
811 also doesn't locate propane lines
👍
I wish for a wider, shorter trencher to dig footers.
Will Hydroplus void my warranty on my tractor
Not necessarily. The manufacturer would have to prove that the hydrosplus was the cause of the issue.
You probably were missing Casey. That was a miniex job all the way, from the depth, time, and rocks, it would have gotter done a lot faster.
Like comment and subscribe, another great video, I don’t think it’s skills, I think it time for a bigger back hoe! Either bigger back hoe attachment for bigger tractor, or a mini excavator is in the near future.. Keep the videos flowing.
YOUNG MAN ,
TRY THIS NEXT TIMEGO FORWARD FEW FEET THEN U CAN OPEN BUCKET WIDE R AN THEN U CAN DIG DEEPER TOO , MAKE SURE KEEP YOUR BUCKET CURL WIDE OPEN IN THE GROUND , THEN U WILL HAVE MORE CONTROL
gave Tim some CHEESE
to the guy you did this work for right now you are putting a lot of money out for 4-h and this water to make it more easy for the kids i have to disagree with you just a bit yes you maybe dropping a lot of money out but this could save you money down the long run 4-h could save you money in the long run not putting out money for lawyers and bail money later down the road do not take this the wrong way a lot of parents get this done with out 4-h and you could very well get it done but 4 h is a great helper in getting this done i may have not said this in a way to make it sound good please reword it where it will sound right and in a good way please please reword it to sound in a good way i can not stress that enough
I think we get your point, Matt. Dave considers it an ‘investment’ in his children. I agree!
@@TractorTimewithTim just saying this from looking in from the outside is all i want to cheer him and his kids on in their 4 - h this year and if you can find the time to i would enjoy a report of how they do in their classes at their 4 - h fair
Hey tim..I have the summit hydraulics on rear like yours..now can't climb on backhoe do they make a step for other side of 260B hoe ..I ate more cheese burgers than you....6'2..379 lb..
Yea. That is the worst part! It does severely restrict access. I dunno if a step is available for the other side.
I suppose you could move the summit kit to the right side.
Please don’t go in trenches that deep.
