sad! but my son was too! the hurting part was he didn't tell me as boys doesn't usually talk about it to their parents for not letting them worry.
well bullies are around the world and they're pieces of shit who are #weak than their "bullied victims! advice is to tell that to your parents *esp and teacher! tho sometimes teacher are stupid and careless not to even worry! shame!
anyways show those losers that you are luckier than them! and dnt worry those bitter shits will have their karma sa kanilang mga sarili or sa kanilang mga maging anak! I hope you become a teacher and then protect those who seemed na nabully din!
at love what you did sa mga nangbully sa iyo! ilang taon ka na?

I currently live in Japan and have been living here for 8 years now. Filipinos may adore Japan and its culture but make no mistake, the Philippines and the Filipinos are not seen in a good light by the general Japanese society. Similar to what Hong Kongers think of Filipino maids, Filipinos are looked down upon here. Of course there will be exceptions, but it will be exceptions not the norm. As a tourist, you will never experience anything bad. But if you live here long and you understand and talk and read Japanese, you'll know. If you don't know the Japanese language, you might never know.

I work in Japan as an English teacher since 2005. I have taught in many areas (Tokyo, Chiba, Ibaraki and so on) I too have been bullied by grade 6 and Junior High School students. Because of Jesus and His good teachings in the Bible.... I looked at those experiences in a positive way. They have enriched and strengthened my Christian values and more rather than seeing myself useless. I thank God that you did not harm yourself. I also have witnessed some of my students being bullied from different schools. I helped them to cope up with their situation by telling them how important they are. One of them even slashed her wrist but was prevented to further harm herself because I stopped her and reported the matter right away to the Japanese teachers. God bless you.

I’m Filipino but was born in Japan. I grew up there until I was 12 then moved to USA.
I, too, was bullied starting 1st grade in Japan. Just because I looked different than the other kids in school, some kids decided to bully me everyday. My family didn’t have much money growing up so I wore a lot of hand me downs, including the school shoes which many kids also made fun of me for. (They also bullied my big brother who was one grade ahead of me)
I looked at the teacher for help and they even ridiculed me in front of everyone. What was I supposed to do when the adults that you’re supposed to ask for help turn their backs on you?
At the time, my mom was a single mom so I didn’t really have anyone to go for comfort. She wasn’t home most of the time so all I had was my grandma and my siblings...
I hated going to school everyday and basically ran home as soon as school ended because I was so tired of everything.
I struggled a lot with my identity growing up. Me being a Filipino who didn’t grow up speaking Tagalog (I can only understand some) but speaks fluent Japanese but no one accepted me.........as a kid, I wonder what was the reason of living if everyone around me hated me. All I wanted was a normal family and not struggling in money. I even wished to be Japanese just so the bullying would stop. I often watched other families with their kids having fun in the park while I was all alone.........It’s quite depressing thinking back how little me used to be so sad. No kids should go through that.
So, I understand you....I just want to say that I’m so proud of you for overcoming all of that. You’re so strong for sharing your stories with us. I know it hurts and might still hurt when you think about the past. But here we are, stronger than ever from going through the experience. Here you are shining brighter than ever. I’m so proud of you. And yes, think positive. Life gets better. So grateful that we are well and healthy! I’m thankful to not give up back then.

For those who likes some what happy endings like I do, the bullying eventually stopped in 5th grade. The teacher I had for 5th and 6th grade was the best teacher I had. She listened to all my concerns and comforted me. I also made my first best friend in 5th grade and stayed best friends until I had to move to America in 6th grade.
It sucked because when everything else started to get better (no more bullying, made my first friend, school wasn’t all that bad, I found what I liked doing), I had to move to America and leave my best friend all alone 😞 We tried to write each other back and forth but as time went on, we drifted away from each other....I did get to see her again for the first time in 13 years when I went back to Japan in 2018. We hugged and talked in my now limited Japanese haha. She was doing well and I was happy for her. 😊

I am a pure Filipino but I was born and raised in Japan. Nag-aral ako doon ng elementary from Grade 1-4.
I'm so sorry to hear that story ate. Buti nalang nalampasan niyo lahat. I'm with you. Huuuuugs 😭💝

I was bullied in elementary too here in the Philippines. The only difference is that my two bullies(both boys)said that I only belong to them and if I talked to the other kids, they will stab me with a pencil. They bullied me for many months and when I couldn't endure it anymore, I cried in front of the teacher and confessed. After a few days, they both dropped out or expelled, I can't remember. I guess the teacher took care of it. Maybe that's the difference here in the Philippines-Teachers will care.

It doesn't matter whether you do good or bad, people will always have something negative to say about you. Even when I just acted accordingly to their actions I still end up being the villain, not them who did me wrong in the first place. So now I just stay quiet and prioritizes my peace through resigning. I'm hoping my next workplace and colleagues aren't as bad as the previous one.

I lived before in Japan for 3 yrs, bc of work matters and I can say that there's a bad impression in filipinas, not every Japanese likes you...they will treat you like a garbage sometimes feels like I wanna go back to the Philippines and losing my self esteem coz I'm not good in work also in nihongo but little by little .. I embraced the surroundings, I used my hates as a motivation to make them feel " don't mess with me again, not anymore.." So I studied and practiced by my own strategies after that they copied my ideas and uses until now. I became stronger than before, After I finished my contract they want me to extend my visa., but it's a no. That's why I salute you for being brave and strong. Ugh, never been sooo emotionally invested in a video before. I feel you. I got bullied when I was a kid even until college. The problem with me is that I'm quite shy, hence I'm very quiet. Yung nangyari sayo nung Gr. 5 ka, same sakin sa college. Parehong pareho. Take note, sa Pinas to nangyari. Bullies are everywhere. On the internet, different parts of the world, kahit pa sabihin mo na polite silang mga tao, generally.

I feel you ate. I was bullied too back in elementary. I was born in Japan but my parents are both filipinos and I went to Japanese kinder and elementary school. And since di naman po kami ka well off noon sa Japan they call me poor na di ako bagay doon pinag tatawanan sometimes I feel like yung teachers mismo yung nag pupush pa para mabully ka and you’re right wala silang gagawin para matulungan ka. Though I made some friends but none of them are real until nag decide yung parents ko na iuwi na ako sa pilipinas bago ako mag grade 3 kasi ayaw ko na rin pumasok sa school. And thanks God mas naging okay ang buhay namin dito sa pilipinas. And I fulfilled my dream to be a successful nurse. I doubt I can study there until university since it’s super expensive and bullying is so rampant during those times because wala sa subjects namin ang english noon so sarado sila sa idea ng foreigners studying in their schools but now since included na siya and more foreigners are living there I hope bullying is not a trend anymore. God bless you more kimi I’m glad na naging strong ka. 😊🙏🏻❤️

It depends. Japanese aren’t really racist. I am half Japanese and Filipino living in japan. In cities, yes there are a lot of mean people there. Most of the people there aren’t disciplined at all. In provinces, there aren’t really any bullying most of the people there are super disciplined. I lived in the Philippines more than Japan. I was bullied in the Philippines. People are calling you like,
“Rich person.”, “Millionaire.”, “Edi wow..” that hurts. When my mom saw me pushed by a girl I didn’t want to tell the truth until I finally said it. ThenI moved to Japan. I went to a school in Japan. People are nice there. In my school, there are these mean people. They think they are so cool and so popular, and then they think everyone adores them. Actually, there are the most hatred people in school. No one hangs out with them except for the people like them lmao. 😂 So one time these people treated me like shit, my teacher noticed it, she talked to my parents, to me, and the mean people. They told them to not mess with me again. They never did. I gained many friends in Japan than in the Philippines. It truly depends. Bullying is not only In Japan, neither in the Philippines. *Bullies are everywhere.*

Based on stories I heard, Japan and S.Korea are very exclusive who look down on people especially of those darker colors.
The worse part in Japan is that teachers won’t act in regards to bullying. I had a Japanese classmate before and she told me that teachers really won’t care. It’s like the teachers are there to only teach. Period. Which is why my Japanese classmate is shocked that there is a different approach here in the Philippines.

To be fair, Almost every community/country will most likely bully something different but japan is on another level. Though I think they praise people from west or 1st world countries.

AsianOrganismHunter That’s true about 1st world westerners, but not exclusive to Japan. My Jamaican friend, fluent in Japanese, has had a good 6 years there as salary man working for a Japanese co. I agree with you on the media, Japan’s perfection is well overstated within the UK at least. And I believe Japan’s bullying problem has been rife for decades, because it largely goes unchecked or addressed within Japan’s initial and continuous teacher training programs.
