@d6joe Great point. Thank you! Yes, I work at home all day so I can quit before supper. If I were still working a 9-5 I might find more use for lights 🤠👍
We have a suicide knob on our little John deer tractor and I use it all the time. Matter of fact I seldom use the steering wheel and always grab the spinner.
@@Rusty_ok I know a bunch of people really like some of the things I listed. It really is useful if that's what you like. I just use the "wax on, wax off" technique 🤠👍
I agree with you on the steering wheel spinner. The steering is so easy you can just use your palm plus it is never going to stay in the same location because of the hydraulic steering. Another great video Sam. Have a great Labor Day weekend!!!
@@samsdoinstuffDon’t tell anyone but when I got my tractor the wheel was upside down and I removed it to put it right side up then I mowed the lawn and it was upside down again😂 🤔so I did some research and boy did I feel stupid!!!😂💩🤔I told myself my OCD made me do it🤣👍🚜💨☀️
I have to agree with much of what was said in the video. 1. Electric winch: I have one. Was it useful? Yes, I rescued a broken down mini-excavator with it. Unfortunately, that cooked my battery. I now have a PTO-driven logging winch, which won't do that. 2. Extra lights: I installed some on my loader for one reason: plowing snow in the winter when the days are short. I prefer not to work in the dark, but sometimes snow turns to rain and I like to remove it before it becomes too wet and heavy. TL;DR: 95% of the time, I don't need them, but when I need them, I need them! 3. Mirrors: I don't see the point either. 4. Bucket shackles: this is actually a thing? 5. Spinner knob: I'd have broken knuckles within 10 minutes as my tractor doesn't have power steering.
Got the knob do use it. My problem is my BX the steering wheel doesn’t always return to the original position so you don’t have the knob in the same place. I definitely need the bucket hooks.
I think that's the case for most tractors....my BX steering wheel is all over the place too.....but I use the spinner knob all the time, doesn't matter where its at on the steering wheel, its always there to use....in tight spaces it makes turning maneuvers a heck of a lot easier and quicker.
I totally agree with not needing work lights.... at 5 o'clock my beer low level light begins to flicker, so I don't do after dark tractoring. However, I mow a half-mile driveway (a private road) shared by two neighbors, and I find having one of those magnetic mirrors on my loader arm enables me to detect approaching cars from the rear to which I can yield without having to crane my perennially sore neck. The only thing on my tractor that I find totally useless is the SMV signage, since I never drive on a public roadway.
@@comlbbeau Great points! I would love to have flashing caution lights rather than the smv emblem. Working/mowing along the road always makes me a bit nervous. Be safe!!! 🤠👍
Lol, yep. I bought a winch also. To pull logs out of a ravine, haven't used it yet. But then the logs are still there. Maybe someday. I do love my spinner (noted in a previous comment). Sometimes I even grab for the spinner on the lawnmower. Oops! It doesn't have one! Thanks for 2 more great videos, as always, keep doin' stuff. I can't wait to see what color the barns are gonna be!
@Harry-qf8gh Thank you! A winch is also so darn slow. I've always just pulled logs with the tractor and if there's not enough room, I'll redirect with a snatch block. I'll keep it and maybe I'll use it for something... someday? 🤠👍
I have the spinner on my tractor, and its great....and I have one on the forklift at work, makes working in the tight spaces in the warehouse with that forklift a breeze. The spinner on the tractor is nice especially when I'm mowing, or trying to move stuff around in my shop which has tight spaces, being able to more quickly turn the wheels makes getting in and out of the shop much easier.
Good afternoon Sam. I thought about a winch one time and I am glad I didn't add one. I also find that I rarely ever use the auxiliary lights, but the mirrors I use a lot. I even have a rear view mirror on my canopy. Shackles I would never use. The wheel spinner I love and I have always use. I drive one handed and I find the spinner fantastic when backing up. Well we all do things somewhat similar and somewhat different and I gather that's why we place different value on different stuff. Great video Sam. Have a super weekend!
@JelenOutDoors Thanks Paul! Good afternoon. That's the best part about ownership. We each can pick what we like and make our machines our own. And I guess you just don't know until you try. No money wasted when it's spent on a tractor 🤠👍
Put the spinner on my Mahindra 1626 and use it every time I use the tractor. Like another said the wheel doesn't return to the same place every time but when mowing pastures it helps with all the corners. The winch sure helps when pulling a trailer load of wood out of a low spot in the woods but only if it's mounted on the front.
I love my spinner, such a great add-on for like $12. I thought about a winch, but your video confirmed I don’t need one. I do, however, think that an electrical hookup to the rear would help me with hooking up my sprayer. You can get around extra work lights by wearing a good quality head lamp.
