Thanks for this bigger, practical build. Corner leaf is impressive. I also appreciate the inclusion of the mistakes. Just this morning, I listened to the Making It podcast where y'all were discussing how it's beneficial to do so. If anyone actually reads these comments besides Picciuto, I highly recommend the podcast. I love it.
Thank you so much for keeping your mistakes in the video. I have been trying to make it as a woodworker for about a year now and sometimes I get down on myself about the mistakes I make but seeing you work through them and make such a beautiful piece really helps keep me motivated.
Step 1: do the first thing Step 2: do the next thing Step 3: wipe off crotch Step 4: do the next thing Side note, thanks for showing the mistakes on this one! As people that make a lot of mistakes in our videos... we feel ya!
Great idea David. I am grateful for the info on Brusso. Also, totally appreciate the honesty on the errors, the fixes, and how you chose to look at the positive of showing off the hinges. One of my favorite MS videos.
David I really like how you pointed out all your mistakes. It would help if anyone chose to make the same table. This thing looks amazing and fits the look of your space better. Keep on Makin!!
I like the grain direction too. Not that it matters, but since others are pointing out continuity errors (both of which I missed) to show off their sharp eyes, I'll be the one to mention that the final grain direction is opposite what he originally planned. I wonder if that was a change of plans or an oversight. Either way, it ended up with the better configuration.
I honestly loved seeing all the mistakes in this project, it makes me feel a bit more ok when stuff like this happens in my projects, because, hey, we are all human. Beautiful table, I really think it fits the space well.
Nice looking table. Walnut is one of mine favorites. Me personally i don't like moving parts when I make tables because not all people know how to work with them. And than there is play, uneven surface or crocked top. Anyway nicely done. Cheers
Mistakes were made, but I'm glad you explained and showed them. In the end the table still looks beautiful and it shows others they can work around their mistakes too. Awesome video, enjoy that bowl of cereal!!
This was a great video- it was especially helpful to show the mistakes, how you adjusted, and moved on- a message all Makers should hear, instead of editing it out. Thank you!
I love your videos and all that, but one aspect that i think is rarely appreciated is the way you integrate sponsors. It's quick, brief, transparent and most of the time informative. It's necessary, but it never feels pushy or too much. Makes me (and many others i bet) actually watch them.
The new table definitely looks much nicer than the white, round diner table. Well done, mistakes and all! The important thing is the end product looks great. I've had very similar cases of cutting off a corner only to find that the pieces no longer match in width. Even given that experience, I'm sure I STILL would have realized too late in this case.
I like the videos where you make a few mistakes. Mistakes happen and it's useful to see how you work around them or if you just work with them, like the hinges.
The little voice over notes on your mistakes were really cool. It'd be cool to see that more in future videos (not necessarily over mistakes). I think that extra bit of kind of behind the scenes insight was a nice touch.
Loved this project. Very practical and creative! Definitely one of your top videos since the move. I really liked how you kept it real and showed your mistakes.
awesome job! this is the first video i see from your channel and i love it! i'm making my own furniture from scratch cause buying Mid century style furniture cost more than making it myself and some from local Thrift stores. i already start with my coffee and side tables with some old suitcases an legs.
Absolutely love your videos! I love the books I've bought that you wrote and got them signed! Lastly, love your honest approach to things when mistakes happen and how you work through them.
Another great project, David! I like the fact that you own your mistakes, and even show them without editing them out. I think I'll start doing this. I know the dog will appreciate not being blamed every time I f*** something up.
Nice video and the table looks great! I liked that you include the mistakes too, its helpful to see/be aware of those kinds of pitfalls. Sand in the place where you live 👌
A woodworking video as it should be, unlike other candyass mr perfect ones, this shows the #realstruggle we all face making something...thanks for sharing!
Dude, I know you don't pick the advertisers, but I just watched the purple mattress protector one with the Sasquatch and it is a must watch 'till the end. I try to support the creators by always watching the ads and I'm glad I did. It's always nice when someone slams Nickleback. Okay, carry-on.
Love this build video!!👊 those matching profile router bits are slick and I really dig that you can see the brass hinge! It looks great with the walnut!!😊😊
Hi David, Thanks for keeping the mistakes in, real world is , ya know what, really refreshing! Great Table project. Love the 'clamps', can't have enough of those. lol
I love the pieces you make. Thanks for the inspirational videos they are amazing. I like the error you made with the router bits was left in and explained. Many would make that mistake me included now I will be on my guard😀
I usually like your video very much but this one was especially enjoyable. Don't know why... So, thank you for the good time (and Aldi for the podcast)
It would have been cool to also make the table top adjustable so that you could push it more towards the corner of the booth when not in use. Love the project, it looks great
I think the exposed hinge looks cool too. However the reason for the pivot point to be above the rule joint is so that when you hinge the leaf that the leaf "drops" below the top. If you look at how the leaf hinges you can see that the edge sticks out and could get caught by your clothes or other extremities. If you have the leaf "drop" it would be more out of the way. I would suggest switching the hinge around to the correct position.
Okay that original table was some funky weird mid-century-modern thing!!! You don't see something like that every day. (clearly from the days of smaller fridges...) Are there more treasures like that in the new house? Love the new walnut top.
Cool coffee mug,& cool table. "Jords Woodshop" has a sander big enough to smooth out that tabletop;) just wanted to add that in there..ya know,u forgot to use ur router holder@4:00, being a smart-ass LOL
That's funny, I was just thinking "How would you adjust for the area you would be routering out". Then showed me exactly what would happen. U funny guy!. I enjoy watching you work. Thanks!
Cool to see you share your errors. Good to see that I'm not the only one! Also, I want to get clarification on the hinges. It seems like there isn't really a "wrong" way, just 1 way exposes the hinge, and the "right" way doesn't. Is that correct? I dig the exposed look, so it doesn't seem wrong to me. Awesome work on the table!
Nice table man, I really like it. I'd like to see the woodgrain running like a waterfall over the drop leaf; I think that might be interesting too. This would also be a great feature in a tiny home! Jim
I never get tired of "SAND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE" and then the "SAND IN THE-" and then the "SAND-"...... You should build a SANDBOX!!!! Then play the song while sanding your sandbox in the place where you live, and then fill it with sand.....and then complain about sand on the floor....and then play the song again....... (I doubt you have a use for a sandbox, so maybe build one for a neighbors kid or something?) I love running jokes, one of the reasons i love this channel.
I love it.
I've been meaning to subscribe to it. My buddy who's also big into woodworking says he loves it. Gonna give it a go.
Thank you so much for keeping your mistakes in the video. I have been trying to make it as a woodworker for about a year now and sometimes I get down on myself about the mistakes I make but seeing you work through them and make such a beautiful piece really helps keep me motivated.
Step 1: do the first thing
Step 2: do the next thing
Step 3: wipe off crotch
Step 4: do the next thing
Side note, thanks for showing the mistakes on this one! As people that make a lot of mistakes in our videos... we feel ya!
LMFAO can't forget step 3.
P. J. Galati the most important step!
very true, no one likes a crotch with stuff on it lol.
if you guys were english step 1 would be, have a cup of tea and probably step 3 was well
The Island Workshop ha! I wouldn't mind throwing in some tea
Great job. It's also nice to see that you are real and make a mistake every once in a while. It makes the rest of us mortals feel good.
Really pretty table David. I've had so many projects go like this. It fights you every turn. Way to persevere. Looks fantastic!
+Michael Alm thanks Michael! Hope you’re doing well!
Make Something things are good! I went full time with my woodworking, and been working on my TH-cam skillz. I'm coming for you Picciuto! 😜
Great idea David. I am grateful for the info on Brusso. Also, totally appreciate the honesty on the errors, the fixes, and how you chose to look at the positive of showing off the hinges. One of my favorite MS videos.
Love the transparency in showing your mistakes. Love the look of the table as well!
David I really like how you pointed out all your mistakes. It would help if anyone chose to make the same table. This thing looks amazing and fits the look of your space better. Keep on Makin!!
Thanks Shane!
Gorgeous table! Be really proud. The grain orientation is killer!
Why are we not watching you on tv? With all these shows on tv doing the same thing. You have your own style, that's why we keep watching!!

Mistakes were made, but I'm glad you explained and showed them. In the end the table still looks beautiful and it shows others they can work around their mistakes too. Awesome video, enjoy that bowl of cereal!!
Nothing like reusing an old Brusso spot in a new video. It fit real nice.
Thank you David! even the mistakes and the creative solution are so educative for us.
This was a great video- it was especially helpful to show the mistakes, how you adjusted, and moved on- a message all Makers should hear, instead of editing it out. Thank you!
what I liked the most about this video is the fact that you made a mistake and you admitted it! ... The table is beautiful!
The finish on that wood looks amazing, Nice Project. Also, Good work Eric.
That table looks fantastic!! Excellent work!
I love your videos and all that, but one aspect that i think is rarely appreciated is the way you integrate sponsors. It's quick, brief, transparent and most of the time informative. It's necessary, but it never feels pushy or too much. Makes me (and many others i bet) actually watch them.
+TheCloudhopper thank you!
Love the table David. Great idea for template making too!
+WoodWorkWeb thanks Colin!
Every time I sand now I get a hankering to listen to R.E.M. Love your style David.
Now, every time I sand during my own projects I hear "Sand in the place that you live" in my head. Thanks!
Same.
I like the videos where you make a few mistakes. Mistakes happen and it's useful to see how you work around them or if you just work with them, like the hinges.
Appreciated both the concept and the hardware reference...as well as sharing your error process and solutions...Great work
Great video David! Another case of s mistake that turns out good, I love being able to see the hinge barrel
The little voice over notes on your mistakes were really cool. It'd be cool to see that more in future videos (not necessarily over mistakes). I think that extra bit of kind of behind the scenes insight was a nice touch.
Thankyou for leaving in your mistakes, every project I make has similar problems so it's great to see someone I look up too doing the same thing
Built so many projects inspired by yours.
Right on! That makes me smile!
you earned that thumbs up with that final table lick. That was great.
Table turned out nice, and that is a killer stove...
Loved this project. Very practical and creative! Definitely one of your top videos since the move. I really liked how you kept it real and showed your mistakes.
I love the table. And thanks for letting us hear and learn from the mistakes.
You are keeping it real with all your mistakes. Appreciate that.
Cool table, I think the hinges totally worked out, they look good showing like that
I love this show , Real life happens and we roll with it .
More makers should like their finished projects, haha! Nice job!
awesome job! this is the first video i see from your channel and i love it! i'm making my own furniture from scratch cause buying Mid century style furniture cost more than making it myself and some from local Thrift stores. i already start with my coffee and side tables with some old suitcases an legs.
Great work. My favorite of your videos in a long while
I love how this video seems to have a lower pace than your others, and I love the product looks amazing! :) keep up the good work
Absolutely love your videos! I love the books I've bought that you wrote and got them signed! Lastly, love your honest approach to things when mistakes happen and how you work through them.
Seriously the Cadillac of hinges. Awesome project man
As usual great video! I think walnut is by far my favorite wood when it comes to final finishes. Thanks for the video David!
Looks great! Like the style of your new digs. That floor.
Another great project, David!
I like the fact that you own your mistakes, and even show them without editing them out. I think I'll start doing this. I know the dog will appreciate not being blamed every time I f*** something up.
+Bill Diehl haha! Blaming farts and mistakes on the dog!
Nice video and the table looks great! I liked that you include the mistakes too, its helpful to see/be aware of those kinds of pitfalls. Sand in the place where you live 👌
Another cool project David! Thanks for sharing it.
Great job, David! Looks so nice in that space.
Enjoyed the good, also I'm glad you rounded over those corners
A woodworking video as it should be, unlike other candyass mr perfect ones, this shows the #realstruggle we all face making something...thanks for sharing!
Freak. Every time I watch your channel I have to got listen to REM. Every time.
for a split second, when Dave showed the insulation board mockup, thought he was going say boom, done. great video Dave.
Nice kitchen! Love the booth style seats.
Love the antics at the end! Always a good chuckle, nice video!
Thanks for including the mistakes. I like the table a lot!
Dude, I know you don't pick the advertisers, but I just watched the purple mattress protector one with the Sasquatch and it is a must watch 'till the end.

I love the pieces you make. Thanks for the inspirational videos they are amazing.

I usually like your video very much but this one was especially enjoyable. Don't know why... So, thank you for the good time (and Aldi for the podcast)
Really neat kitchen table although the hinge little mistake. Really unique!
Really convenient table. Good for you
It would have been cool to also make the table top adjustable so that you could push it more towards the corner of the booth when not in use. Love the project, it looks great
Great build my friend, it looks fantastic. I hope to do more great tables myself for my channel.
Table looks great
Love it. Sirens, licking tables, collecting water; David just trying to have fun!
Lovin' the table! Looks like it tastes good too!
Love the videos.
Great project! So nice!
Great video! Also, that's a big book all about potato salad!
Rob Berger was going to make the same comment. Who has a whole book dedicated to making potato salad. Just saying...
Someone didn't have their morning cup of coffee on the build day.. ;) Love all the stuff that you build and do! :)
Totally agree with you on the exposed hinge - looks great! Happy mistake!
Glad to see you back!! Missed ya the past couple weeks
What? I've put out a handful of videos the past couple of weeks?
Make Something maybe it was couple weeks ago? Or maybe my TH-cam just wasn't notifying me, ha sorry. Love your videos anyways!!
Totally agree on the hardware, it should be up to par with your finishing skills. Great stuff dude! Hope there's a European vendor for those hinges.
Nice project man!
Beautiful work!
+Randall Natomagan thanks!
Great work bro!

beautiful project!

Awesome project thank for the video.
Love the 'Unsubscribe' shirt! Also, props for showing the goof with the hinge. Nice table top! Loves me some walnut.
Cool coffee mug,& cool table.

Classy food safe demo!ROFL...Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks for the little bit at the end i never knew that about finnishes! Much appreciated!
SAND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE!......it never gets old dude. Makes me laugh every time.
Your last video you made a router stand, this video you didn't use your router stand... DOH. Nice table btw... :)
I made the table before I made the router stand. Good eye!!
Darren Weston damn I was going to make a comment about it 😂
#continuityerror ;-)
my wife said the same thing.
Your wife watches picciuto? That's kind of awesome.
I never get tired of "SAND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE" and then the "SAND IN THE-" and then the "SAND-"......

SUPER divertido ver como te equivocas una y otra vez en este video jajaja, Great Proyect!
