OMG im a cook at hideout! i probably made that poke tacos for you, its actually avocado puree, poke is (ahi, wakame, ponzu, onion, jalepeno, furikake, salt) and the white sauce is yuzu aioli
Hubs and I spent a week at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Waikiki. I really like that lagoon. Your videos bring back a lot of good memories. Thanks for your videos.
Yo, Jaycation! I'm headed to San Diego on 3 Sep and then to Julian to work with YMCA camp kids at Camp Marston! Thanks for these videos! They are helping me get familiar with SD and making a MUST VISIT list.
Looks like they're mostly tourist spots so the real local places won't be inundated. Some of the food looks good though. My family grew up in the Liliha neighborhood and that bakery still looks much the same as it did 60 years ago. The shot of the Hawaii theater was also a blast from the past.
Lovin your Oahu Grind spots to eat. Though we watch many TH-camrs like Amanda and Felix, always refreshing to visit the places with you. Lol, jay you look more Local than Felix and Amanda. It’s that filipino blood😎 Love that you Don’t have Dings after your thumbs up🤙
We never get a chance to visit marugame which in Waikiki. But I just noticed they have 2 locations in the San Jose area so I might have to try it at a California location.
Man everything looked delicious, you must have put on 10lbs that week, one thing, the chickens on the table got there because they FLEW! I'm with team Amanda on that one.
@@Jaycation acai bowl tasty ,also as a fan of japanese food the segment in the japanese resteraunt was legend not only great looking food but the comedy was 10/10 it made me forget how hungry i was looking at that food lol
The next time you're on Oahu, you'll have to try the sweet potato crumble from Mitsuba Delicatessen. It's really close to the Liliha Bakery, but on N. School St. and really close to Helena's Hawaiian Food. The sweet potato crumble is made with Okinawan sweet potato, which is often mistaken for ube. The garlic chicken and cone sushi (inarizushi) are also very good. Mahalo for another good video!
@@Jaycation okazu-ya spots (such as Mitsuba) in general, so you gotta go early as usually these places don't replenish once that particular item is sold out. Best you get there by 7am or you may be sorry... It is about almost one mile west of the OG Liliha Bakery, about 800 feet before Helena's Hawaiian Restaurant. Btw, have you eaten saimin before? Try Shiro's Saimin.. so many variations. It is in the Waimalu area and Ewa Beach locations.
Hard pass on that poke shack. There are plenty of other local business that serve fresh amazing poke. Not to knock the poke shack but it looks like the same as the ones in the mainland when you can get true Hawaiian poke elsewhere.
jaycation ever since aloha poke co in chicago like trademark the word “aloha” and prevent hawaiian/local own poke shops with the aloha in their name from using the term it left a bad taste with most locals and they served the same kine poke that you just shown in your bowl thats why most are highly opinionated
Definitely the foods on the mainland are no match for the variety & large portions in Hawaii. You’re so bad at teasing us with all that food, thanks for sharing though. 😁🤙
brah that no look like hawaii in a bowl more like your typical mainland knock off in a bowl mo betta go foodland than unko sharky..maybe dey should call it salad with raw fish
I’m going to be in Oahu by myself for the first time in August. A bit freaked out but excited! I’m going to be eating so much food LOL
Best poke I ever had was in Hawaii (Big Island/Kona). Brought back some memories.
Shout out to Amanda and Felix! Thank you collaborating with Jay Jay! Loved it!

Apparently people have high opinions on poke. Honestly it was good but if people have their own standards, i dont judge. It was still a good meal.

Wass up Jay please don’t go to poke places like that. Mom and pop shops way more authentic 🤙🏽
Have u tried it yet? Also owner is from oahu.
@@Jaycation no I haven’t I’m not saying it taste bad but authentic poke does not have all types of topping like that that. 🤙🏽
