    I miss anchorage, its been 3 years since I've been. I can visually map out on a map, where you are based on stuff I'm seeing... Yes its creepy,

      I'll have to see if I can lose you somewhere in the city

      @@explorealaska I can recreate maps of cities I've been to. I had an idea near the first 2 mins you were close to the old block buster.
      I was waiting to see a sign for Fred beans.

    In Spokane WA they deliver the same amount of people to work by way of bus as they do by car in the same amount of time.

    How much snow does Alaska get every winter?

    • @jboss729
      @jboss729 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A LOT! LOL. Anchorage is warmer than Fairbanks. It gets below zero often like 15 days a year but usually between 6 to 20 degrees(still freaking cold) but Fairbanks area is REALLY COLD! It can be -20 on any given winter day. In Fairbanks its not uncommon for it to be below zero for days on end. However, Anchorage tends to get a little more snow than Fairbanks.

    Bad enough Spokane WA looks the same as this... Closed business s and no traffic. I have seen mornings during the week that I could have taken a nap in the middle of our busiest street at 6am and never been disturbed or in danger till around 8-9 am.

    Nice video. You should do some in Fairbanks and the outlying smaller cities around Anchorage.

    Do they salt the roads up there? Is car rust a concern?

    • @explorealaska
      @explorealaska  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question. They don’t usually salt the roads to protect the environment. So car rust isn’t a concern! Most people you see here have no rust on their cars and if they do they brought the car from out of state.
      Only salt that gets used is early in the year before most have their winter tires swapped over. And in some parking lots on the beginning of the year.
      For the rest of the year we drive on the ice and snow.

      @@explorealaska I’m just now seeing your reply. You answered me seven months ago, but I don’t think I ever got a notification for it. Thanks so much for getting back, and for the good information.
