- Simple implementation of octahedral impostors in Godot. Inspired by shaderbits article and Unity implementation. Still work in progress but should be usable.

I haven't seen those other videos, so I'm not sure what octahedral impostors mean. Is that some kind billboard sprite imitating a 3D tree?
Yes, its something like that but for any 3d object, not only a tree. For more information please look at this article: www.shaderbits.com/blog/octahedral-impostors it explains why this is a better approach than traditional bilboards.
