The "I was never that man" line hits hard because he was right. The only reason Zophram became Zedd is because the Zeo Crystal knew about the evil in Zedds' heart. Zordon didn't just restore Zedd, he purified that evil and made him better then he was. And he because Human ig lol. Though, Zordon also had a human form so ig that is just a thing.
I'm reminded what Zedd once said to Rita..."The force field is nothing to joke about!"...

I love comic Lord Zed he’s competent, ruthless, and lethal
And he was more well-rounded as a character more so than his TV series counterpart was-- before AND after his "death of personality" and resurrection.
