Yeah, back then, the Green With Evil miniseries was the peak of the original Power Rangers. Even when they tried to clone Green Ranger and have him fight White Ranger, it wasn't quite the same. The Green with Evil arc was the only time it actually seemed like the heroes might lose.
Its even more wild that when the rangers with broken feats are OP when they evil, but once they turn to the light side, plot had to give them boys tommy and trent some patch notes.

In MMPR it wasn’t about revenge, but in Zyuranger it was. The red and green ranger are actually brothers in the original Super Sentai show. I also highly recommend fans of MMPR to watch it. Fills in the gaps of the story, and is genuinely great.

There's something that's always felt so eerie to me about the way Tommy jumped into the Megazord cockpit and started laying the Rangers out. It was basically an unspoken rule that once the monster got big, then it was giant monster vs Megazord, and that was all there was to the fight. By entering the Megazord itself, it felt like Tommy had crossed a line. While the Megazord itself got beat up during fights, the inside of it was supposed to be safe, a boundary Tommy broke with ease. It always felt really creepy the way he was able to just do that.
It was that and him breaking into the command center. Plot is the only reason why the green ranger didn’t just end them entirely. He was also the only ranger at that point in the show to just be able to just throw out ki blast too 😂.
We need more people talking about Toku in general. Power rangers/Super Sentai and Kamen Rider got some crazy action moments and jungle fury got some crazy ass action scenes.
