- What's going on guy's! So in today's video i'm going to be doing something alittle bit different than normal. Today I am going to be installing some upgraded parts from Hyve technologies on my M&P shield. If you guy's enjoy this video let me know down in the comments and i'll try and make more content like this.

Bought one a week ago. Already ordered the trigger and some mag extensions to put on! Going to color fill grey to match the trigger too!
I'm torn between this and the apex. Your vid makes it a bit easier to think I could do the install without lots of issues but the apex kit has a lot of attractive things as well.

What did that trigger do to the travel, reset and pull...was this more for asthetic appeal, looks like all same hardware but the actual trigger.
The pull is the same weight, that doesn’t change. The main difference is the “take up”. The trigger gets rid of most, if not all, of the slop in the beginning of the trigger pull.
The use of a small light to shine into the pistol grip would have made the video a lot easier for users to see

Cool vid thanks, the only thing I would not do to this gun is the mag extensions, magguts sells some great spring system that will add 2 extra rounds to the factory mags and no need to change anything hence better to conceal. Thanks
There is mags that actually are 10rd capacity for $25 the price you would pay for just the extension. Also come in black and look really nice just ordered two.

I just bought an NDZ mag extension. I'm worried that it doesn't have that backplate stop that covers up the gap between the plastic flush plate and the metal part of the mag. I saw in another review.
I haven't received it yet, so I don't know how bad it will be.
Did you buy just the finger extension or did you buy the +2 extension?
@@morgan123poirier I got the +2 extension for the 7 round mag.
I'm hoping that the issue is trying to use it with the 8 round mag, and that it fits the 7 round mag properly.
This would be fine, as I planned on leaving the 8 round mag alone.

Ya, you should have no problem if you plan on using it with the 7 round mag, it should sit flush like you want.

Got my +2 mag extension and mag release today and pretty bummed out the mag release was so extended that my holster hits the button. Had to take it off smh

Any issues with FTF? Being that the Mag extension doesn’t come with a longer spring makes me think that the last two rounds may have issues feeding due to less tension on the spring.
I have not had any issues yet, just went thru about 150 rounds and had 0 malfunctions.

I’ve owned mine for about a year now been hesitant on doing this, just out of curiosity is there any other companies out there they offer upgrades like this? I haven’t had much luck finding anything else

You can keep the mag release stock.
I only see one blue color on their website and it looks different like light blue where did you find that dark blue?

Awesome vid! Did the trigger upgrade change the trigger weight? Is it lighter?
It does not change the weight of the trigger, it gets rid of the amount of take up the trigger has and gives it a much smoother feel compared to the “grainy” feel of the stock trigger.
Are the shield and compact 9 have the same trigger ?
Is the trigger upgrade worth it? I don’t mind the stock trigger
For the price of the trigger, it’s definitely worth it. I have 2 shields and one of them still has the stock trigger and when you compare them, it is a night and day difference.

Wouldn’t running the plus 2 extension cause jams since you are running the same spring ?
I personally haven’t had any issues with it and I haven’t been able to find much about anyone complaining about jams.
Is that the regular blue? I have one coming on monday and im hoping it's not the light blue I've seen in some pictures.
I put the trigger on mine and I went to the range and everytime I shoot one round the trigger gets stuck for some reason
You might have the Shield 2.0.
I heard you had to file down the trigger well a little bit so it can reset

How easy is it to seat the 10-round mag fully loaded with the slide closed? And how do you get it apart considering that spring extended so far into the base plate??

How would you recommend filing the trigger bar without caliper measuring? I don’t have a caliper
The only option I see without measuring would be filing it down little by little and keep test fitting it till it works.
Just use a tape measure
Preferably one that shows 32s or 64ths
So I installed this awhile back but now I’m having feeding issues. Anyone else is having the same with this hyve product?

It does drop out freely, yes.
Is the color of the mag extension and the mag release the same blue? The mag extension I got from Hyve is different than the mag extension.
Can you just use the +2 on both mags? That way you get a 9+1 and a 10+1?

That might be good; do they have it in plain black? I was thinking of painting it. Probably put some grip tape on the front of the mag anyway.
I just did my mags and back plate in Red (back plate has the Punisher engraved), then I color filled the engraving on the slide in matching Red. The gun looks Great. My next upgrade will be the mag release in Red and the trigger in Red with Black. I will post photos when fully complete.
Would I have to shave anything if I don't have the manual safety?

As of right now it’s just a stock spring. I may look into upgrading it in the future. I’m glad you liked the video!!

Don’t worry about the recoil spring bro. I’ve had multiple shields, really only 1911 people have to worry about recoil springs. You should be just fine with stock. That’s what I’ve been running for years.

Hey great video, I recently ordered the redline to add to my daily carry. I’m worried the extended mag release might be activated by my holster, have you had any issues with accidental mag drops?
I haven’t had any issues with mine. It doesn’t extend out to far, just enough.
Got mine today and my holster hits the extended mag release every time.
I was worried about the same. I carry appendix and do not want the magazine release to be depressed at all. Wish they just had a regular option I would buy that one.
They i think im gonna pass on the extended magazine release, will just change it out every couple years cause it is a plastic magazine release engaging on a metal magazine.

I did exactly what you did for the slide cover plate and it snapped in fine. However, I noticed it has a distinct wobble and turns off center after shooting. However, now I can’t remove the damn thing. Any ideas?
Hey i noticed when you put everything back together that you were able to pull the trigger without the mag. Did you remove or disassemble the mag disconnect release inside?
The Shield doesn't have a magazine disconnect.

What does the msg extension do? Just make it longer to make it easier to release msg?
The mag extensions add capacity. For example Hyve sells a +1 and a +2 mag extension. So it’s turns your stock 7 round mag into an 8 round mag, and your stock 8 round mag into a 10 round mag. Hope this helps!

Ohhh I gotcha. The extended mag release is textured, making it easier to find when you’re not looking and it being extended helps with locating it as well.

I just got all of those for my sw shield but in red
You can cut a link off the spring of the 7 rnd mag to make it an 8 rnd and it cycles completely until the slide locks back. I just think the extensions are ugly as sin
My trigger doesn't have a click. Hopefully I got it all back right 😅
I know this is old, but if you have a CA compliant version, it comes with an integrated magazine disconnect safety. The trigger will only "click" (which is just the firing pin releasing) when you have a magazine inserted.
