  • In this video we head back to Stockholm - Bromma Airport this time - and do a review of the Swedish domestic ATR 72 service on BRA. We’re on their green ticket with 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuels included, and we’ve paid less than flying Ryanair on the way up. So which airline will win the battle this time? See a beautiful takeoff from cloudy, wintry Skellefteå up into the sunshine, and hear all about the cabin, the noise levels, the onboard service, the sustainability comparison and more.

    If I had my choice for the distance you flew and I were not in a hurry I would pick the ATR.
    Good price and the feeling of flying with the turbo props (I like the sound) on the wings is more enjoyable flying to me. I believe the ATR narrow wing chord has been a topic of conversation though. Anyway, ATR is my choice for that route! They must go through a lot of deicing fluid!
    Thanks - Jim

    I see with my eyes how all the finns are rioting, when you called a very obviously FInnish chocolate Swedish.

      He didn’t call the chocolate Finnish though but rather the concept of having a coffee and a snack which is a Swedish fika 🙂

    The best part of flying BRA is that you don't have to deal with Arlanda, that's worth a lot in my book, and sure the prop's are a bit noicy, but who fly without headphones anyway?
    A bonus up north is that the prop-planes usually can land on worse runway conditions, something that Swedmed has discovered with their new Pilatus that needs the red carpet rolled out on the runway.....

    I didn't see a price comparison, but because I like ATRs and chocolate, BRA might win 🙂.
    Plus "bra" (or more exactly, "breá") also means "good" in Irish!

    Great vlog as always my friend! I love props! I need to fly the DC-3 and 6. Under my belt I have flown the CV-580, F-27, F-50, DHC-6,7,8 Mertoliner IV, ATR 42,72 Short 360. Keep up the good work. Be safe!

  • @charlesthistlethwaite

    Looked like it was pretty much a tie to me. I really prefer smaller airports, so maybe I am biased. Plus, I'd prefer a Swedish airline for a national flight.

  • @spurgendahl
    @spurgendahl ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, choosing between an 737/8-200 and and ATR 72 is like choosing between a Mercedes and a VW or anything more simple but maybe useful.

  • @eds.4815
    @eds.4815 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Doesn't the fuel per kilometer per seat vary depending on the sector length? I'd think that a longer flight, and more time in cruise, amortizes the higher burn of take-off & climb.

    • @daviddanser8011
      @daviddanser8011 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah exactly, a jet would burn much more per seat on short legs

    BRAs enda fördel är Bromma. De borde verkligen ha köpt CSeries/A220, då hade de varit konkurrenskraftiga även komfortmässigt! Själv flög jag ofta deras Avro på Östersundslinjen och det var ju kul med fyra jetmotorer på ett inrikesflyg :)

    • @Rodoeht12345
      @Rodoeht12345 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nu har de ju skaffat sig A319, så om det är jetmaskiner du är ute efter så är det återigen möjligt

    • @jatterhog
      @jatterhog ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rodoeht12345 syftade främst på den höga komforten hos A220, det är verkligen ett toppenplan jämfört med de vanliga A320/737. Just A319 är inte riktigt en fördel när SAS flyger med A320neo på samma linjer.

    • @Rodoeht12345
      @Rodoeht12345 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jatterhog Att flyga till Göteborg eller Malmö från ARN är totalt värdelöst ändå, Brommas smidighet alla dar i veckan (om det är billigare än tåget förstås)

    • @jatterhog
      @jatterhog ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rodoeht12345 bor själv i Jämtland så om jag flyger på de linjerna är det efter en anslutning. BRA flyger ATR hit och SAS flyger A320neo, tidsbesparingarna med Bromma förloras på den extra gångtiden med propellerplan (och det är dessutom lägre komfort i mitt tycke). Med CS100 hade de vunnit över SAS på både komfort och restid och samtidigt ha färre säten.
