- Fitting new forks on my electric motocross bike and sending it! I upgrade the SUR RON electric pit bike with rock shox and ride urban MTB freeride lines, huge portable kicker ramp gaps and fast trail! Would you ride this bike!?
I love this SUR RON electric motorcycle because its a perfect size to shred in smaller locations and is just about light enough to move around with ease! Before the riding gets underway I fit some rock shox boxxer downhill mountain bike forks onto this crazy hybrid mix of motorcycle and MTB. With the new forks fitted I proceed to hit up new jump in my front garden and get steezy before heading out to a famous urban freeride spot in town! The next spot is a perfect landing in the middle of a park, so I bring out the MTB hopper portable ramp to get some huge distance into a perfect landing! With this bike being so silent you can ride it anywhere so for the finale I head into the woods and smash the local pit bike track at full speed and full enjoyment! Nah ready to shreddy any track for sure. But I agree if you're ripping up some well-made track that's had time and hard work put into it then it's probs time to go home.
@@musicbox4022 Almost always true. The only mountain bike trails I respect are ones like the trails Breckenridge resorts maintain etc. If there's a dedicated maintenance team on a commercial style trail I respect it. But for the most part, they're carved out by dirt bikes. Cyclists should tone back their elitist attitude.
@MusicBox we've lost a lot of good riding spots to mountain bikers in my area over the years. It's gotten kind of crazy. We're running out of places to ride unless we want to switch to MTBs which will never happen for me.
If sam has taught me one thing, then it has to be that a hammer and using the ground as a file are the only tools you need to work on your mtb.

I watched a video on how to fit forks and they were using a file to smooth out the cut on the fork when they cut it down. Kept thinking to myself, "Just go outside and use the curb."

Damn rights Sam. I've been a mountain biker all my real life, though always appreciated and dabbled in moto. emoto is the dream. It's the best mix of the two. I'm so pumped that I get to live and ride through this time in cycling history. I did my share of trail building in my area, so I don't feel good about taking basically an electric dirtbike on our trails.. however! I'm loving the idea of building slecific emoto loops. Not needing much elevation makes it sooo accessible 😎

Tip from a pro get it on getto guy. Put a cut of lumber on whatever you need to hammer and wack the hell out of that wood. Saves your nice shinny bits from getting to banged up.

Most guys jumping the sur-ron break it, suspension links, drive belt, jack-shaft bearings, bent pivot bolt ect ect, it's pretty ugly.
The bike is too weak and china to survive shredding, it's already broke, I can hear it.

Definitely needs more air in that fork.. Its amazing how sam claps the front fork on the lip but still lands perfect everytime.
I have an idea. Can you make an oldscool downhill bike with fat 20” wheels ? And ride it like a boss!! :3

wouldn't it have been easier just to slide the shocks out of the triple clamps and just reuse your triples that are on the bike already?Tubes are the same diameter on the boxxers.

Just got one a few months ago and it's great for short commutes, but it is hard to find spots in my area to do off road stuff, so I normally just ride around parks and stay on pavement. This summer I think I'm gonna get a truck so I can bring my bike places that are a road trip away to really test the bike.

Thanks for sayin' that about the Sur Ron not being a MTB. There's a couple of guys rippin' up our MTB tracks on those sort of bikes. We even built a dream track for them (using a KTM, man it was fun), however they still ride the MTB tracks as well. Not that I'm hating on them (I'd have one if I could afford it), I think they just don't realise the damage they do (I'm out there fixing it all the time)....I don't comment much, but watch and luv everything you post 🤘👊

thanks for the message at the end, I've personally seen a couple of my jumps being destroyed by electric motorbikes at the woods iv built them in, and because theres usually a group of 4 or 5 of them on motorbikes, im not going over there looking for a confrontation lol

I mean they’re 3k+ and you’ve just gotta be careful of where you ride it in the uk obvs.. Trails and beaches everywhere near me and it’s fooken sick compared to mtb for versatility

I want one of these w/ the 72v battery and BAC8000 controller.... I'd even settle for a Segway X160 because I can upgrade the controller and battery w/ all the Sur Ron stuff people sell as soon as they upgrade their bikes so there's a lot of parts around.

Put a BAC4000, Domino Throttle and bypass battery or switch to 72V. Night and day!
That e-bike is going to be a serious mess for reliability or else Sur Ron is crazy tough/over-engineered. Either way good news for Sur Ron because I had a suspicion that the X bike and or similar sur ron products wouldn't be as tough as they are according to Mr. Pilgrim thrashing.

seriously though,your sir ron needs a strip down and regrease and forks and rear shock need service ,can hear them. jumping like you do ,you need to keep them in top nick ,so dont have back stack

Moto style is Samese for Tapered Rollers.
You state ramp is made for mtb not motor bike ...but is rock shox made for that heavy bike the compression you see in video will go soon. Be careful you do not snap the steerer tube. Since that is not made for a heavy bike like that.
