I agree with most everything you said, and most of the accessories fit in the box with just a few exceptions. I even use them to store other parts and accessories to other tools I have besides Festool. And yes, they are quite rugged, but not indestructible, but like all quality products, you treat them with care, and they will last a long time. My wife even uses them to store her hobby items. She has a couple XL systainers and a couple of other ones that she stacks together on a cart she can take with her to her friends house when she wants to have some fun. 😊

Sad. They are NOT tough. See many YT comparison tests. ABS is the weakest of the three plastics used. Systainers are now a poor choice. Both Milwarkee packout and DeWalt Toughsystem2 beat it easily. 1) ABS is a poor choice- very poor impact resistance 2) 3 point fixing (rather than 4) is less rigid- and less waterproof. 3) front clip system seriously reduces drawer height in drawer units. 4) Competitors are zero touch join, one touch separate. 5) Still too small. 6) front handle (at last!) is compromised- too little space. 7) big top handle is weaker, takes more space (others offer top storage). 8) Cannot rely on backward compatibility. They have done it once... 9) No sub-size compatibility, or caddy system. 10) In rack systems, the front wheel has to be closed, or there has to be big gaps between shelves. Two extra steps per access. I could go on...
@@workshopdojo if you are not moving them around, why are they in toolboxes? Toolboxes are for carrying tools, not for storing them. Too many steps to access. As many tools as possible should be one touch- you can see it and retrieve it with one hand.
Systainers were used in various episodes in The Expanse series. Sometimes carried and used by characters, others merely seen in the background.

i love them, I had to go with this than the big rugged pack out and bigger Brute ones. Just want to customise them a bit
They are tanos systainers and Festool literally just put there name on it but yeah they’re awesome
A few years ago, Festool‘s parent company bought tanos, along with Sawstop, and shaper. But you’re right originally they were a customer of Tanos.
