Brainrot is the most accurate description of an MBT anything.
Policies like this exist to just allow judges to resolve egregious issues. Almost everyone will be able to get away with reasonable playmats, but the judges can now stop the worst cases.
Hopefully that's how it goes but we all know the man child will complain about some one not using an all solid color this or that
How do you think this would affect players such as yourselves that are sponsored by people like Teamsamuraix1? Since he sells sleeves that wouldn't abide by this policy alongside custom playmats.
That’d be something to discuss with Konami officials. Merch itself still exists, and can be used at local play. I’m willing to bet Konami won’t make exceptions for the sake of simplicity and avoiding accusations of favoritism. Like how Pokemon VGC judges gave a player who DCed a game loss despite them being in a winning position.
Sponsors like that can pivot to pins/stickers/t-shirts if they want the sponsorship to be seen on stream or something like that.
You can use 3rd party sleeves/mats as long as they are a solid colour. The TSX1 sleeves are fine. The mats unfortunatly are not allowed.

Everyone says that now judges will be able to go after the most egregious cases, but they could already do that. There were already rules for this but practically never got enforced

It says "Yu-Gi-Oh TCG products" so I'd assume not, we'll see how they choose to enforce this.

Twitch allows loopholes while TH-cam is basically like "Dont do x and y and we decide what counts as x and y"
The same applies to other card games or game stores.
That was essentially what the policy used to be, but according to their announcement, it was causing judges more trouble than it was worth with people arguing about what crossed the line.
@@roercula8425 Then you have to have a judge come in and make a ruling. Vs it being completely clear cut and undebatable that it's not okay. It's about workload and difficulty of actually enforcing the rules.
The funny thing is that there were already rules for that, but no one enforces them so everyone just thinks they don’t exist

Dont act like we are in any way better than the newer generation.
All generations have dumb shit that they for some reason enjoyed.
This does not mean that past was good. Maybe we realized that stuff was also brain rot and do not want future generations to repeat this.

Yugioh isnt gonna earn me money or bring meaning to my life, but it created memories i cherrish and thats why i love this game.
If todays kids feel that way about the skibidi toilet, then i might not understand it, but i am happy for them.

General rule of thumb when going to a public event is "don't bring or do anything that would make your parents disown you on the spot" and bringing a 12 by 24'' mousepad with some risque anime girl on it to a gathering of any group of people falls under that rule.
@@e-tan3911 That is a bit contradictory ain't it? There are things in this game that depending on the parent, would have said parent disown you. For example you have the OG waifu archetype of Harpies and the OG waifu of Dark Magician Girl. The first is inherently provocative by their very nature and the other is dressed provocatively. You wouldn't look at someone playing on a playmat with them strangely. You don't find the cards art as unacceptable. Hell, the majority of the community celebrates when we get the original version of their art. You wouldn't tell some girl cosplaying as any of them at an event to leave because they are dressed to risque. So then why in the world is it suddenly an issue for a character outside of YGO? It is honestly like going to a beach and complaining that there are people in swim wear and that they should be ashamed because there may be children watching. No the only actual issue that should exist with this is when people step over that line. When it goes from PG-13 to NC-17... That is the only actual issue that can hold any weight.
@@jamaldavis2480 There is a difference between playing a deck or a card with slightly provocative art and having a playmat featuring a half-naked girl prioritizing her ass. It doesn't matter if the picture has said ass covered up, the intent is only to be provocative and to get the same effect as an NC-17 playmat. Konami clearly wants neither and I don't think a person coming from work to locals wants to see that either.
As for the cosplay and swimsuit thing, those have a time and place. If I saw a cosplayer at a convention, or a swimsuit at a beach, I'd have no problems. If I saw someone wearing a swimsuit to the mall, or a cosplayer walking around in the middle of the street on a Wednesday next to a Walmart, I'd be weirded out and try to avoid them.

Oh like skibidi toilet isn't any worse than whatever the fuck we were doing as a kid.
Like Harlem shake, the first episodes of YGO abridged and the boom of YTP. Kids do have problems, mostly because they start using Ipads before learning how to read, BUT this is just we being dumb.
This meme will die in a month or so, because that's how internet work, only the good stuff remains relevant.
Also dislike that kind of humor btw because I don't find randomness funny by itself, and I would consider myself someone who doesn't take stuff that seriously and enjoys light-hearted comedy; that being said, can't pretend I care about this.
