INFO pre orders just went up on sites here in the UK and a 10 card fiendsmith engine is going for £330, £220 for whitewoods. Personally im not a fan of two engines being over £550 ($705), its a bit ridiculous.

Fire cards dropped in price because demand for them has slowed down alot. In turn, the Yubel cards, specifically Nightmare Throne and Phantom of Yubel, are both pricey cards (example I got my set of Throne for $90 CAD just before Phantom was revealed, then it spiked has hasn't gone back done to that price since, and I got two Phantoms for $75 CAD each). Make matters worse, since most fiendsmith cards are secrets, it will cost a few hundred more and its an engine many people will want and need heading into Nationals (the day after the set releases btw). I literally cant afford the fiendsmith stuff after paying so much for Phantom. Point is, the Fire cards example downplays the reality, which is, this game is much more expensive than it needs to be and the game does still infact, have a money problem.

If we are talking about prizing, Grand Archive also has some really good prizing. I mean shoot, the Winner of Worlds took home a 14k Gold Ring, a Gold Medal, a Promo Card and a bunch of other shit.

Really the problem is threefold. Cards are crazy expensive on release, then within a year or less are gutted in value because of aggressive reprints, banlist fears/realities, and powercreep knocking them out of relevance. Its great that cards are made accessible to more budget players, but they shouldn't have been so completely priced out in the first place! Its not good for any of the players. Players with money to burn are burned when the cards drop precipitously, and players on a budget are burned that they can only afford to play last format's decks that are past their prime. Then theres the fact that they're purposefully devaluing high end collector cards. Its not that I don't want budget players to have cool rarities or anything like that, but it really really shakes confidence for collectors--not just investors--that they super cool special sauce cards they shelled out for or got super lucky on are going to stay super cool special. Rarity collection 2 released several new high end prints for like 30+ cards that already had high end printings. That's almost half of the fucking set! Now there's what's basically rarity collection 3 primed to do it again? Prizing is the last one. I don't think we necessarily need crazy cash prizing, but for the love of god can we get something like special alt art or full art or rarity prints of iconic or staple cards? Some cash would be great too. Literally anything that might have value?

Players shouldn’t have to wait months for cards to become affordable to play decks past their prime. Just because cards are no longer expensive doesn’t erase the problem that they were outrageous on release.

I live in Aus and I earn above the average wage for my country. I shouldn't have to pick between paying rent/bills or playing a children's card game, where the prices have gone stupid. Not to mention how much fiendsmith is going to be..... If I had the night off to play digimon at my locals I would 100% swap card games. I've been playing yu-gi-oh casually since forever and competitively since 2015.

If you are dueling you won’t usually have one deck but if you are only playing one deck at a time you’ll have more fun learning even though you want learn about other decks. No one likes losing if the opponent didn’t have to try. That’s why Yugioh is technically wack at times because people wanted to believe they are special due to expensive cards not the heart of the cards. Thanks to these rarity collection besides dueling against snake eyes, you will most likely build your dream deck to find out you still have a lot to learn. I sure did with Heroes and Cyber Dragons, infinite ways to play only one way to lose. People don’t like learning, we got used to copy and paste decks. That’s a true bummer there, reminds me of Yugioh 5Ds or when everyone was on Charizard sack wanted the old school cards and no reason to ever play them. People are collectors at most, players barely any.

Ygo is still crazy. I guess just not as crazy. Still not spending 60+ on a set of wanted, 150 for a set of bonfire and witch. Still not good. Not “dirt”. But a rich white boy is not ginna care about card prices.

I find it hilarious how baronne was so expensive. But as soon as they made it available to the rest of the player base. They banned it 😂😂😂. Glad I made about 500 bucks on baronne. Bought the secret in rarity collection and literally lost nothing.

If people have a problem with "woke" it's probably because they're to old to even be in this card game anymore and need to leave. And no I will not apologize for that opinion. Recognizing that people different than you exist and that it's OK for them to exist isn't a bad thing. The content creators who have respect for people different than them even if they don't understand those that are different than them are awesome. And are by far the best content creators. And 99% of the time their content is solely about YGO and they don't talk about stuff outside it unless it's drama(stevieblunder).

I mean I suppose in fairness there is Master Duel and to a lesser extent Duel Links as 'Free to Play' versions of the game. But that doesn't make what's happening with the physical card game acceptable (if anything it makes it even more unacceptable, since there are easily available 'free' alternatives, you should be doing more to encourage people to spend money and play physically).

THANK YOU. I've been saying this since the announcement. It has niche uses especially since it requires you have no field and that the opponent in normal or special summoning from the hand. It's good but it's not OP.

Bad logic. This is the same as having pot of greed legal in another format and saying desires is bad because nobody plays it in said format..

The card is literally soft Maxx “C”. Why would they play it in MD/OCG when they already have Maxx “C”? Even then, the TCG is a completely different game. A card even SIMILAR to Maxx “C” is an IMMEDIATE three of in the side AT LEAST. Similar to how most rogue decks treat Thrust atm. The only reason a card like Mulchummery isn’t a guaranteed main deck staple is bc fitting non-engine is already a chore. Finding three or even two slots is annoying. It’s a stupidly good card, but it’s ultimately still gonna be meta dependent. Right now? Probably 2 in the deck and call it a day. But this is absolutely a card we’re gonna have to reassess with every new good set and format.

I think the "it's not popular in ocg because of Maxx C" kinda makes sense. - Everyone has to play counter to maxx c and all of them work against purulia too - seeing both is not particularly useful unless you draw other hand traps (and how many others do you have if 6 are the draw cards?) - the meta tends to have a plan for maxx c which probably works against the octopus too. In TCG I can definitely see it being a side deck staple (and being main'd in blind 2nd decks) so much that it pushes things like ritual beast, kashtira, spright and yubel down the tier list a bit. Even snake eye has difficulty giving you less than 2 draws
