Lots of wheelie tutorial videos say you're not supposed to throttle the bike while wheeling but find the sweet spot and hold the throttle there.. This guy is going to learn the hard way when he tries it on the road

This is for people who want to imagine what a wheelie feels like without putting in any seat time to reach balance point.
Or could it be used to practice balance point without risking self or bike? I thought it was a gimmick at first but someone pointed out it could be a good tool for safe practice. You can get very familiar with the balance point without losing focus as a result of the usual risks.
@@tyronebiggums3853 I don't know if it would translate well. The more speed you have, while wheeling, the more stable the bike is. Wind has an effect too. Maybe it would help... When I started riding wheelies, I rode faster wheelies, while accelerating the whole time. I progressed by pulling it back more and more over time. When you get up high enough, you can maintain the same speed.
@@keck739 yeah that’s a good point; there’s a lot of variables that it wouldn’t be able to replicate and you wouldn’t want to get too comfortable on that and then get on a bike and not be used to how it really feels. I can’t wheelie really well because I don’t want to push it any further than I feel comfortable, (also only have a 300cc) it seems like this would be a good way to see how far off balance point I am etc, but I could see a false sense of confidence coming from it.
It’s nothing like being on a bike under load or in the wind you don’t drop that down at 100mph and see smoke come off the front wheel.

The yellow cord is to give you an idea of when you the sweet spot and it comes off if you pull back far enough but the purple one will prevent the bike from tipping over. i think .

I learned how to do a stoppie by an accident while riding a dirt bike and I wasn't told it had no back brakes. Was about to crash when I pulled the front brake, leaned backed and hoped for the best. Was surprised how much control I had of the stoppie, I didn't crash. The guy who owned the bike, his butthole puckered. But I did just fine. I also have only driven dirtbikes three times in my life. Fourwheelers is a different story, I used to own one.

It's a great way to learn and experience a wheelie in a safe manner without the risk of falling and hurting yourself and damaging the bike and probably with time you get your confidence and do a wheelie on the street
You obviously have never ridden a bike and have no idea how to learn to pull wheelies safely.This device is completely unrealistic and doesn't learn you to wheelie safely at all !!! This device is completely useless when it comes to learn wheelies

Я на Урале советском педалями тоже хорошо подымал. Как дома поднял, так 7 км до речки и держал. Переднего колеса практически не было никогда, лишняя камера. В Дагестане жил, свежий воздух, водопады. Прадедушка тоже не отстовал на Уральце под рамкой. Хорошее время было))

He is using the engine's gyroscopic effect to balance forward and backward motion (the crank’s torque reaction lifts the front wheel up during acceleration, unless your engine is a reverse rotational one - which is rare on a street bike) and this is done with the clutch pulled in.
If you watch any of the boys that do back-flips you will notice that they rev the bike at certain times during the stunt - this is to done so that they can get more spin whilst in the air so that they can time the landing.
He already put initial speed to perform a wheelie. So playing the clutch or you say "holding the clutch all the time" is not a problem for beginners. I do love to pull a wheelie on my DH bike. I just learned it from TH-cam tutorials from pro athletes. Every pro tip they include practice on a slightly inclined road for faster catch up.

look at the size of the gear on that back tire in the fact that you already start from a 30 degree angle makes this so unrealistic. great way to learn balance but definitely not a good way to learn how to initiate a wheelie

The only “realistic” thing about these is learning to control yourself while the bike is vertical.. by no means are they realistic or accurate on controlling the bike. Also.. clutch up ffs....
