just started to listen to old folkmusic from around the world to find what each culture does special with their music, gotta say i really loved this one!
I was just watching a documentary about the Everly brothers (the name comes from old English ‘wild boar in a clearing’ 😅)and their Kentucky musical background and it got me interested in old songs with harmonies!Beautiful.❤
My Great Grandfather was a farm horseman/Ploughman behind the horses and many years ago my Grandfather related a tale to me of a brief conversation he had, long before, with his Dad: "It's alright for you, Dad, you're just walking behind them, (the horses), they're the ones doing all the work." "Really? Well remember this, you young bugger, they're walking on the bit that has had a year to flatten down; I'm walking on the bit that those sods have just turned over into a ploughed field!" Granddad said that his Dad NEVER got home for his dinner until the horses had been fed, watered, curried and settled for the night...whatever the weather or time of the year.
Beautifully sung, and with a lovely accent. This rendition puts me in mind of many days during my adolescence spent at regional folk festivals. A lifetime ago, I'm afraid. I actually have set part of Corinne's recording to music, if anyone's interested: soundcloud.com/orchardwest/the-carter
Cos I'm not good enough to sing this acapella I've worked out a simple fingerstyle guitar accompaniment: Capo 3: When I C a young G I C with a G And me Am delight... With C and G I'd C their fine G And the Am.....
@@Wotsitorlabart You're right actually -I still love all the rock and pop I listened to when younger -just need to catch up on all the other genres to be appreciated.
Wonderful.
Make my heart sing to see another generation carrying the music of the common folk onward.

there is a harmony with another man's life , i know him closely
why have I wasted so much of my life listening to pop and rock?!
Because that's more profitable for those who dictate the culture and commidify everything.
You haven't - you can enjoy any or all genres of music. It makes life interesting.
