Rebeca fought for that 15 keeping those feet in bounds! Simone is really pushing the competition. To see Rebecca being her toughest competition is incredible. Great job to the WAG. It's a blessing to watch this level of greatness.
For me its a mistake to give a 6.4 for the vault... 0.4 more than the hardest one.. they reduced all the others.. looks like they knew she was going to use the coach, and wanted to balance. She doest need it.
If getting the 1st, 3rd & 4th highest scores wasn't mind-blowing enough as it is, did she accomplish that after just a couple of months of training after a two year hiatus.. That girl is seriously unreal!
If anyone is curious as to what the highest E scores were I believe these are it! vault Simone 🇺🇸 9.5 AA Rebeca 🇧🇷 9.5 vault 2 EF bars Simone 🇺🇸 8.466 TF Shilese 🇺🇸 8.466 EF beam Eythora 🇳🇱 8.533 TF floor Rebeca 🇧🇷 8.566 TF
Beam code is broken when Simone's absolutely flawless routine gets 8.3 in E scores. These rhythm deductions are just plain stupid, they should judge the over-all routine flow and not every goddamn second, unless the gymnast is pausing on every skill for eternity there's no need to take deductions for every single second. This is the reason why beam has become the worst event under open code, we never used to see this much falls in the old CoP and it's gotten progressively worse.
While I still think that Rebecca’s Cheng was very nicely executed, Simone had better flight and an overall slightly better form, plus Rebecca took several steps after landing. Why then did Simone receive a score that was only 0.1 higher than Rebecca’s? It should have been at least three tenths higher if we’re honest.
I was wondering this same thing when I saw the scores. I know that Rebeca gets more height on her Cheng but Simone gets more travel so I don't see where one should outscore the other in this regard thus the landing should have been the thing to separate them. So, it is my opinion as well as yours, that Simone's score should have been more higher based on their respective landings.
Hmm. So what this reveals is that it is almost impossible to score a 15 on beam under this new COP as not a single one of 15 or more was registered on it during this championship with Simone coming the closest with a 14.8 and that routine had a difficulty of 6.5. Floor is not fairing much better under this new COP either based on the scores recorded here while UB and Vault both have 3 scores of 15 or more each. If FIG keeps this up soon scores of mid to high 13s will be good enough to win on beam and floor in an international meet if it is not so already.
Well last year gold medal on beam was a 13.6 and this year bronze was at 14.3 (and gold at 14.8) so definite improvements. Also the rhythm deductions are just a hell of a lot, they should judge the over-all routine flow. Simone getting 8.3E with that absolutely flawless routine in event finals is a crime. FIG's broken beam code is what has led beam to become one of the worst events in WAG in terms of gymnasts being able to do routines confidently. Bars they've got right with the code of points and beam is fucked.
The Chinese athlete’s execution was cleaner and and she hit spot on the vertical in the pirouettes. The Algerian gymnast incurred many flat feet deductions and also missed one connection.
Thank god you're only an Asian hater internet troll and not an FIG brevet judge. Cuz anyone with basic gymnastics knowledge knows that Qiu Qiyuan has better overall form and handstand. Gymnasts don't win just by chucking difficult skills, there's a reason why execution score exists.
She has posed the biggest threat to simone since she started competing as a senior in 2013. She was so close on FLOOR, her vaults have been stellar (it just takes perfection to beat a 6.4 D score for her double pike), and she has consistently shown she is the athlete right behind simone since 2020. She’s incredible!! Brazil was amazing this competition, very emotional
@@jboww2121 She is a most worthy challenger to Simone and I agree she is incredible. I am actually a fan of both and although I do not view her YET as a 'threat' to Simone, I think she PRESENTLY has the difficulty and ability to push her.

The fact that Simone got a 15.266 with the 0.5 deduction for having her coach there its crazy ... she is from another planet

What was the highest score on beam? Simone's 14.8 on BB finals?
Yes. It seems it is very difficult these days to get anywhere near a score of 15 on beam as well as on floor.

Nice compilation of all of the 15+ scores at 2023 World Gymnastics 🤸 Championships! 👍
