It is hard to say if Manmohan Desai was a better film maker then Prakash Mehra or who had the greater effect on Amitabh's career. They both ruled the industry simultaneously fighting over the affections of Amitabh Bachchan. A few of Manmohan''s films like "Vaada" from the late 1960's with Shashi Kapoor, Jeeteendra and Saira Bano were shelved despite being almost completed. During a glittering career he gave numerous films for the audience to enjoy with compelling stories and excellent music. All top hero's of the the era worked with him during the golden day's of Bollywood cinema. My best Manmohan Desai film is "Aa Gale Lagja" that had my favourite hero Shashi Kapoor as the leading man. I miss those days when such films were full of love, coexistence and great Music. Religion was a very important subject in his films. He always preached harmony and coexistence in his film's that the world very much needs in today's times. It was probably due to his wife's death that lead to severe depression hence Manmohan committed suicide. I will not judge him on this drastic form of action he undertook instead remember him for the great entertainment he provided cinema lovers.
