I know someone’s already mentioned the blend line, but I really want to add for anyone else reading this that it’s a long front straight here and speeds are over 140mph at the point where you crossed that line on your out lap. You get hit at that speed, it’s curtains, so please don’t ignore that red line. Secondly, and I can’t stress this enough: if you’re off the bike and on the side of the track, PLEASE don’t ever squat yourself down with your back to the oncoming traffic like that. If someone behind you bins it (again, see your out lap), you’ll never see it coming and it’ll more than likely kill you. Neither of these are things you want to learn the hard way!!

I have been to Snetterton twice now; albeit in my car. Last time i was there, there was a biker session mixed in and i couldnt believe the speeds these guys were chucking their bikes around at. I've had a full A1 licence for years and ridden pretty quick... but theyre all on another level. You and the guys you were riding with included. I just remind myself periodically that its a track day; not a competitive event and try not to get caught up in the moment. Odds are there will always be someone quicker than you and at the end of the day; being able to drive home afterwards = win 😄 Good for you to be man enough to show your mistakes, explain them and learn from them to become a better rider. Another really interesting video. You’re really honest and open to your own mistakes. I’ve crashed a couple of times while racing at Snett so know the feeling. You should try racing, it’s the best way of learning and you’ve got endless instruction from great riders, track walks and a lot of fun! When you crash, everyone laughs at you so all you can do is smile 👍🏻
Wil Green thanks for understanding and appreciating mate and sorry for the late reply , I don’t always get notified about people commenting... I totally agree with you , my plan was in 2020 was really to hone and tame myself because pace is there but I feel I am always trying too hard , always on the edge. It’s so silly . But then this lockdown happened so hopefully next few track days I will definitely take coaching for certain aspects . Racing is something I have always considered and if I can afford it then I will certainly have a go at it . Thanks again mate
I’ve done the same bud. Was riding comfortably in the fast group at Cadwell so booked into fast at oulton...a track I had never rode. As you say yourself I felt overwhelmed and pressured into riding out of my comfort zone for the entire morning. I’ve just to Donington in the inters. It felt much more comfortable and was up to fast group speed after 4 sessions. Lesson learned on my part. You did well not to collect anyone. Shit happens, we all make mistakes. Ken Hill talks about creating a track routine to get yourself into the right mindset. I'm sorry man but in under two laps you blew the blend line, had a moment while staring at your dash, went off the track, re-entered in traffic, then crashed and nearly collected another rider in the process. Those are focus mistakes. Most of the orgs I ride with would have black flagged you and had you come talk through what went wrong with a coach to try and get your mind in the right place. It's too bad this one didn't. A few minutes to calm down and get your mind right might have spared you that crash.

@@ChasingTenths you know I watched the video a couple of times just to see where it were wrong before I made that comment above, it's sometimes easy to armchair comment but I do think you have a combination of errors, going into the gravel agreesively like you did would certainly have forced some grit into a soft tyre compound, that grit would have taken a good few corners (maybe even a lap or two) to fully clear, add aggressively braking to the mix (the moments before the crash) and it was never going to end well ... I remember once running out of corner and into some asphalt grit and was surprised just how much grit embedded into the tyre ..

Hmm. These are old and watched quite a few Vids , you seem to always have rear lockups during incidents perhaps you've outlearned that. interesting also lots of rear chatter(rebound)
You are spot on mate, very well spotted . In 2018-2019 I had loads of rear locking Basically I have sorted my front brake set up now perfectly The ABS is disconnected now totally , direct lines from Brembo RCS to the callipers, this has transformed everything , it’s very much predictable. Rear chatter is also much better now with ohlins TTX gp upgrade with an over suspension device plus the suspension is properly set up now. Lots has changed in the last two years , now I can feel when something isn’t right and I try to resolve it , before I just used to live with issues thinking it’ll be ok but it’s never ok until a solution is found. Plus as a rider I have improved a lot , coaching has helped and patience has helped too lol . Well noticed :)

Glad you didn't get injured mate damn I'd be sad also.
hoslyr86bass thanks mate , it was a bad one and a tough video to make.... another tough video coming up next 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️.. watch this space lol
@@ChasingTenths oh no 🙈 Haha
I'd love to someday meet you and have a chat! I'd be novice on track but just to hear your stories of starting and getting to grips with the bike and track day process, I have youtube for now !
That’s brilliant Harry, thank you for your kind words
If you are in the U.K. , you can’t unsee me on a trackday lol . I am trying to make my self as visible as possible.
First thing in the morning your words have truly cheered me up
Thanks for the support
do you think you could have chucked it in and made it round??
Alan Young mate, well said, I don’t think a week has gone but since that July when I haven’t thought I could have done differently... I think I was really concentrating on not collecting anyone with me cause I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself .. but I was just too fast and just spent all my energy in not taking anyone out and just crashed instead. But I think of so many other things I could have done now . I don’t know , it’s one of those things . Hate that crash , so silly so pointless
@@ChasingTenths happens to us all at some point. Have fun!
No I reckon too hot in there
Recent subscriber, good “real” videos, keep it up 👍
shaan shareef cheers mate, I do remember you subscribing yesterday. That’s the beauty of having a little humble channel , one remembers all subscribers lol... I had to put this video up, I can’t just show great performances and not show fuck ups 🤷♂️... thanks for supporting mate. Spread the word amoung your biker mates
Chasing Tenths yeh enjoying the content, going to portimao again next month but this time on the thousand and also been looking at rsv4’s so quite useful all round for me 👍
shaan shareef cheers mate, portimao is epic on a 1000 cc bike. And Aprilia is a really really good bike mate, it handles really well. And it’s tough to crash that bike (unless you are me) lol... front end on the Aprilia is amazing (if you do buy one, buy 2017 or later)... have fun at Portimao, keep safe
Chasing Tenths been looking at 2015 RF’s as seem to be good value, be a third bike so totally impulsive haha
@@reepers13 I have the 2015RF mate, don't buy that, although mine is highly modified, but 2015 is very similar to previous years and the Ohlins on that is 2011 tech, no blipper too, buy 2017 and above, trust me the difference is huge and you'd be surprised they aren't that expensive now.
You been to Oulton yet? Can’t find a vid for it?
Zeebo1uk no mate
It rarely came up last two years
This year it was coming up a lot
But 100 percent I wanna do it in 2021
Can’t wait
Seems a good layout and not too far from me
Chasing Tenths it’s my favourite track (and local) love it, wipes you out though, very very physical
Zeebo1uk wow ok, well for sure let me know if you do it next year
I might join you
Keep in touch mate
Good video mate👌🏻
Thanks mate , much appreciated
You should have pitted after the ploughing earlier .... you got careless :) .. glad you're OK though
That’s so so true , I often think that even now, I definitely should have pitted . Hindsight is a wonderful thing
Just as an addendum, I love your channel and content and find you really easy to listen to, you're definitely on my list of favourite motorcycle vloggers! ..
I mate, where about’s in the midlands are you? Cheers Mat
MAT RACING i am not telling you if you are the guy I nearly took out in that video . Hahahahaha ;)
@@ChasingTenths hahahaha, No i''ve not ridden for a year and abit. Had a kid, so had a year out. I only ask as i'm from sheffield and got a new bike and going to get back into it. Just thought it would be good to maybe go on a trackday when your there? Cheers Mat
Great Vlog 👍
Thank you very much :)
Hmm. These are old and watched quite a few Vids , you seem to always have rear lockups during incidents perhaps you've outlearned that. interesting also lots of rear chatter(rebound)
You are spot on mate, very well spotted . In 2018-2019 I had loads of rear locking
Basically I have sorted my front brake set up now perfectly
The ABS is disconnected now totally , direct lines from Brembo RCS to the callipers, this has transformed everything , it’s very much predictable.
Well noticed :)
been watching a few of your videos - you do seem to fall off a lot !!................... do you enjoy it? at age 65 I am paying the price now in tendonitis in shoulders, back etc from too many offs - a couple at cadwell : )
IR W hahaha, good one. To be honest . For 6 years I had no crashes then I had 3 in one year and that’s the year when I started TH-cam . So definitely seems like I fall off a lot . Definitely lessons learnt . Thanks for watching :)
Learn from mistake your riding skill will be better nextym awesome video
JLOPEZ 23 thank you for the polite message. I definitely learned from the mistake for sure.... this yaar has been much much smoother and better

JLOPEZ 23 thanks mate
Mine is a 15RF so it came with the analog dash so I just upgraded it to the race dash and it’s worked out pretty good
Shit happens 👍
