The details of this is absolutely incredible, I was always surprised I never saw an official figure in the stores, but with people able to make a detailed 3D print like this, it’s not so much a issue anymore. Absolutely fantastic!
As the maker of this custom I can say this...manufacturers will not touch him because of how fragile and skinny he is. Getting the articulation to work smoothly on this figure was not an easy task. Especially when your printing and the tolerances can vary fractions of a millimeter for each print.
Waiting for the die cast metal release, with leds, over 25 catchphrases, and whatever is inside a roomba that maps out rooms and let’s it roam. 🧐👍 Great work!
I'm a tinkered, artist, etc....and swore I'd build a Johnny 5 someday.... Even as a child I had to have built him many times out of ANYTHING I could....lol Now I'm 43, late stage cancer and laying here watching video after video of people building their own, etc..and I realize I missed my window. :-( I lived a pretty huge life, but this one thing that I thought would ALWAYS happen - there's no way I wouldn't have my own - ain't gonna happen. But seeing this amazing amazing model was amazing! Took some pain meds and it came up in my list while looking at people's J5 builds. That's an amazing work of art! You made my day seeing this.
