I just got hired under the Direct Hire, but it wasn't posted. I just received an email. So maybe it was non-competitive hiring, but the guy called it Direct Hire. I just sent him my resume, SF50, College Transcripts, eval, and VA form. So I'm not sure which it was. But i start Monday the 20th. It's a promotion, and work from home.

That's awesome! Yea, that would be non-competitive but the terms are often confused.

Hey. I recently accepted a tentative offer for a direct hire position. What advice would you give me to negotiate my salary to a higher step? Should I email HR directly? How do I go about saying I want the incentive without sounding too thirsty? 😂

I have a video on negotiating if you want to check it out. Also have a template if you send me an email.

I just became elligable for direct hire with the irs. What can I do to make sure I get selected? Also is it wise to negotiate pay.

      I am now referred.

Being direct eligible just allows you the possibility of being referred and I see that already happened. Now you'll just need to prepare for a possible interview. If selected there is no harm in trying to negotiate.

Do you suggest asking any questions to HR at this point. In the referral notice, it states that if you have any questions, contact the HR Specialist, and it states his name and email.

@@check8outbro I wouldn't worry about questions at this point. HR would likely delay in responding since you weren't selected yet.
