      it would be way more practical on a chapman stick. this thing is kind of... retarded. for lack of a better word. shit, even just a normal double neck bass with a fretted and fretless would be way better. this thing is kind of just a scam for stupid people with too much money.

    You could have demo'd the best advantage to flipping mid playing by using a looper for fretted neck, flip, and solo on the fretless....very advantageous in this era of solo bass performance...nit to mention the tone sounds great..a demonstration of the sounds and knob positions would have been great. Too much time spent questioning "why"....

    @BassTheWorld.com - I totally would gladly accept the Nordic double as a gift. I would tune one of the necks (depending on feel) as a resonator in E (firsts and fifths) and strum that neck like the sarod player to the sitar. The depth of chords is unimaginable (in E, which is my go-to key). Give me one hour with that monster and I'll give you a mind-blowing medley, lots of blues'n'stuff. Good show. ZZ Top approves.

      @@basstheworldofficial NO it wasn't because the focus was on the tapping at first. I'm just wondering why you would have identical looking bass guitars, then you finally started playing the fretless. I still don't really get why you flip it around.

    For a double neck it looks perfect, the rotation feature removes so much bulk from the instrument. It looks unique and far less cumbersome than a standard double neck. I would use this, it's gorgeous

    • @apeapeape999
      @apeapeape999 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      not flipping isn't the reason double necks are heavy. a normal double neck could have a similar design and just not make one of the necks backwards. you fell for their stupid gimmick. it's nothing but a cool party trick they put on because they knew it would trick people into thinking this is worth more than it actually is.

    Custom making metal parts like that isn't actually very expensive at all. You can do prototyping on cheap 3d printers and when you're ready to go you can do CNC milling from places that rent out their laser CNC machines, it doesn't cost very much -- but you have to do all the programming yourself.

    This would be perfect for a song like Marcus Miller's The Sun Don't Lie, where the verse and chorus are played on a fretless and the bridge (slapped) on a fretted bass. When played live of course. I imagine it would look awesome if he starts playing these gentle fretless lines on this weird piece of furniture and then suddenly with some grand gesture flips the neck around and starts slapping that thing. Probably too gimmicky for someone like MM, but can imagine Les Claypool doing it...

    • @McOuroborosBurger
      @McOuroborosBurger 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neil o' Neil I see your point, however it’s a lot more compact than a double neck (at least mine). It has some use.

    • @joshstarkey8883
      @joshstarkey8883 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The advantage I see is for tapping, your right hand can tap on the top neck and pluck on the bottom rather than moving back and forth laterally on one neck

    • @NeiloNeil
      @NeiloNeil 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree the compactness is great and there's some cool new ways to play on this. It's mostly the whole rotating thing that bugs me. It looks like a gimmick that'll probably increase the price way more than it's worth. If they would make a non-rotating version of this for a decent price I would definitely be interested.
