I'm generally not fond of pastiche characters, but I do think it's very funny that Russia's answer to the Hulk is a grizzly bear with a drinking problem.

Captain America card is based on inspiring the team. Red Guardian is based on attacking a rival, taking them out. They are basically opposites. The limit on the RG is supposed to imply he's got no powers and can only affect a smaller guy on the enemy team.

"Weirdworld was one of the domains on Battleworld, one that contained sorcery and strange perverted science for it was composed of fragments of many magical realms including Crystalium, Polemachus, and the original Weirdworld. Its baroness was the Witch Queen Le Fay."

Not to nitpick… BUT Marvel Snap is a collectible card game (CCG), not a TCG.

I got introduced to the Winter Guard through Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, where they're the focus of the second level. As much as not being allowed the X Men did hurt LMSH2, it gave the opportunity to use some really cool lesser known characters (especially all the cowboy stuff)
I think for a lot of people of a certain age those Lego games played a major role in exposing them to pop culture as kids. I know for me my first introduction to Star Wars, Indiana Jones, DC and Marvel was playing their respective games. I suspect the fact that a lot of younger people were first introduced to the prequels through tie-in products like Lego Star Wars is a big part of why those movies have become so popular.

I remember doing research into all the Crimson Dynamos on my own time and kind of being disturbed by how many Russian/Soviet superheroes just have revolving doors in terms of who’s under the mask. Like there’s currently been 13 Crimson Dynamos, and in my opinion only 4 of them are worth anything at all (and one of those four is just ironic enjoyment (the second one BTW))
Kind of cool how the idea of constantly having to get new Red guardians reflects that old idea of how the Soviet Union would throw and dispose of massive amounts of people to solve a problem. I feel if that was the angle Marvel was going for that the Soviet super soldier serum would make the person injected stronger than Captain America but without any of the other stuff like enhanced cognition just so they could say that their Captain America was stronger. The soviets had a bit of a history of making their stuff bigger than American stuff just for the sake of it being bigger and “more impressive”
i REALLY wish Widow's Kiss was -4 power, with the ongoing of "+4 power if your side of this location is full". Would've synergized perfectly with Red Guardian.
Red guardian is like marvel’s version on Red Star from Teen Titans, except the nuclear bomb powers

I think the Anton Ivanov Red Guardian is just called "Anton" in the comics, and the "Ivanov" surname comes from the 'Agents of SHIELD' character after fans assumed he was based on the Red Guardian. I really don't know if any of that holds up to any scrutiny, though. The 'AoS' bad guy really seems like an original character that the showrunners stuck a reference to MODOK on to because they were denied using MODOK earlier in the show's run and thought they were getting cancelled at the end of the season. Any connection he has to the Red Guardian seems coincidental.

He was the best part of that Black Widow movie for me. It's a shame how much they disrespected the character and just made him dumb lol
I don't think that's fair. He was clearly competent if somewhat past it. But really he was a bit of a tragic character, somebody who's so obsessed with past glories that they've lost sight of what truly matters. He's not just there for comic relief.
Yeah I agree the prison scene with him was so good but after that he kinda got downgraded in my opinion hope they do him a bit better in the thunderbolts if he's gonna be part of it
Not to *nitpick* but Marvel Snap is definitely not a trading card game
