- I can't stop listening to this guy. I would love to see him go all the way. This is what this show should be about ... finding talent in places nobody else would notice. Kevin shows you don't have to be educated or rich to be someone special and admired.
Exactly what mankind is missing, a decent human being and what a voice.
He is a sinner just like the rest of us.

I have no idea why anyone thinks that someone's looks, job, accent, intelligence has to do with singing talent. As for his accent, some of the smartest people I've had the privilege to work with have thick Arkansas accent. Many would just brush them off as being "hicks." They would be entirely wrong. This man sings beautifully.

It’s a shame these judges take on the impressions they do when people come out and make staunch remarks, snicker and laugh at them, until they sing or perform then they realize what talents lies underneath. He was very touching and honest to listen to and he deserved a round of applause🙏🙏🌻

I've listened to Kevin's audition often. There's so much more to witness here than him merely singing a tender song, while playing his guitar. He stood on stage, his humble self, until the moment he walked off. Even his goodbye wave to the audience is that of a humble, grateful man. No pretending he was someone or something else. His smile, the kindness in his eyes, in his voice, in his heart, all reflecting his gentle nature. True to his character, he sang a song about a man worrying about his loved one, if he were to die. Some laughed or snickered at him...at first. But the entire audience went dead silent when he sang; and then stood, cheered and applauded him when he finished. He was the winner of the Season finale....as well as of the heart of those who watched and listened to the simple message Kevin, unknowingly, shared with all of us. The expression on people's faces at the end says it all.
When you're humble it doesn't matter what other people think of you even if they laugh at you, you will always stand out.....

I was thinking the very same thing and I have commented about it before. Yes, Piers and Sharon should have been very embarrassed by how they acted towards him at the beginning. I have seen guys catching chickens, just like he was talking about and it's not an easy job. That's why I don't care so much for a lot of the "rich folks". They laugh at the "working" class folks and then show their stupidity by questions/comments such as was on here. I think David was not doing that when he asked how many chickens were caught, but was just interested in knowing. Folks like this have no clue as to what goes on in the real world, of the hard workers that actually keep this country going from day to day, if the sorry government doesn't get in the way!

Kevin's performance was absolutely beautiful and could not have been done any better! I love genuine people, like him. And again, I have been in the chicken houses at night and watch them catching the chickens, 4 in each hand, just as he stated. They used red lights in the houses to keep the chickens calm so they could catch them. sadly, so many people go through and complete their life without ever knowing what goes on the real everyday world!

Very rare when you get somebody who sings a song that is better than the original artist.
I lost my husband of 48 years in 2022 and saw Kevin ‘s audition after my loss. It brought me to tears, yes his love has been enough and is enough until we meet again in heaven. I didn’t know the song before I am sorry to say but it is wonderful. I pray Kevin to will do well and may The Lord bless him. Thank you Kevin Skinner and Garth Brooks.

Don't know what these folks were laughing about. Chicken catchers are hard working people. They travel to chicken farms and catch the ones ready to be harvested. They quite literally catch thousands and thousands in a day. I know this to be true because I know a chicken farmer. These people help put the food on your table! I am sure God loves them whether they can sing or not!
I have done it yes 4 birds in each hand one slide your arms back and be ready to slide it with arm and hands heading forward again for the last and final bird hard heavy work kills your shoulders and back
Not only that, but Kevin stated what he did for a living in a matter-of-fact way. No shame. Nor should there be. He comes across as genuine as one can be. Quite obviously, this man wears his heart on his sleeve. He also played his guitar quite well.

If a person from anywhere came to Texas to audition, I can proudly speak for each of us by saying that regardless of what city you were performing in we would never laugh at you because you're different than us. We respect and love everyone for who they are and who they aren't. We play the part when people laugh because it's the only choice.
