Binoculars give me better views , i can see a lot of fuzzy objects but not much form , i guess it takes a bit of time to learn how and where to look , its why im asking , if there is something i missed .
I happened on one of your videos while searching something completely unrelated...I was thoroughly entertained, despite my inherent fear of the night sky and the vastness of space. Still very much real from the seat of my computer chair...lol... The technical jargon when it comes to telescopes is WAY over my head, but I am fascinated by what you do. Great videos and gorgeous images. Keep up the amazing work
Great content Trevor!! Thank you for always keeping us updated on the latest astro gear that simplifies this hobby! I've been out of it for a few years and omg how much has changed! Keep up the inspiring work!!
Another superb video Trevor! Your shot of the Iris Nebula is breathtaking. The music is (as usual) a plus too!! Could you put the name of the songs you use in the description, if it’s not too much trouble? Thanks again for an awesome video!
The Iris can be a bit of a challenge with any kind of light pollution. My shots from last year in the backyard did not do the dust lanes much justice. Would really like to get some time on this object from a dark sky location. Also just got the ASI294MC Pro so looking forward to really seeing what this cam can do - the specs caught my attention. Cheers.
Our family love your channel. We were skywatching and filmed a very odd object. We have its location. But we are unsure what to do with it.! We filmed for 41seconds. On a fixed telescope. 240x. No tracking. And total viewing was about 3 minutes. And then it just seem to close like an eye. Trevor. Any ideas ?
Why do you not image from Espirit and RASA and combine data to get twice as much data, can you do it. Also can you take an image data on the same target using RASA and Espirit to show relative superiority of each. That would help people like us who are undecided about the two scopes? and have some thing objective to talk about (accepting that spec wise they are different, but how much does the images differ?) Thanks Saqib
Hey there, your videos are amazing and the photos you take are simply astonishing! I'm getting started with deep sky astrophotography and I was wondering what may be your opinion about getting an Ed72 or Ed80 evostar refractors for astrophotography of DSO. I really like the portability and low price of the ed72 but I'm afraid its focal length may be a little bit too short... What do you think?
Was well worth the wait after your technical issues delayed your upload eh Trevor! 👍 I had also just this week gone tcaptured about an hour on the Iris.. Looking forwards to capturing more data with my modest dslr before basic processing.. Love this stuff and is always inspiring to keep trying when watching your videos! Thanks Trevor keep it up mate 📺👆🌟👍
I'm curious as to how you got 4 minute exposures from a city polluted sky and not wash the image out completely especially with only using a UV/IR filter.
I am waiting for ultimate power box V2. It looks really sweet!!!! Will have one box with one data and one power cable. Will be ordering from Steve soon as he gets them end of May.
Great videos - trying to get back into Astronomy because of your great vids... Just ordered a new beginners scope (the one I bought 20 years ago was trash and never used it), trying to figure out which dSLR dedicated for Astrophotography.
Nice work Trevor. I always enjoy your channel. Question though...you don’t seem to ever do more than 5 minute exposures. Have you ever tried 20 and 30 minutes subs and what were the benefits besides the obvious better noise ti signal ratio?
HI. Just curious, what do you think of the auto align systems that align themselves without user input? Surely not having to find 2-3 stars yourself to align the goto is easier ? I'm very new to hobby and i'm still learning. Luv the channel, great vids and you're a great, easy to listen to and understand presenter. Thanks, Wes. ( Liverpool, UK )
Hi loving your videos. What scope would you recommend for someone wanting to get better dso images? Skywatcher AP 80/400 ESPRIT-80ED or a WO Zenithstar 81? Thanks and keep up the good work 👍🏻
I want a RASA 8 so bad, but they're sold out everywhere until August. I went with an Ed 127 fcd100 from watching Trevor's videos. Thanks for your videos dude, without your videos and tips from others, I wouldn't have gotten this far, and discovered that my 294 mc pro was busted from the get go. Back to a stock dslr for now, my camera from opt is a $1000 paper weight.
I saw some led street lights in your video. How much of an impact are they with your visual observing and astrophotography? Any suggestions on how to handle led street lights?
Amazing images of the needle galaxy and iris nebula. Is there any software like backyardeos for Samsung? From what I've heard and seen Canon and Nikon are better brands for astrophotography but I've had 2 Samsung cameras for a while and I'm just starting out with astrophotography but I don't really want to spend more for another camera. I would love to see if you have any tips or software for Samsung camera users. thanks
i see strange lack of stars in much of the image , from the left corner diagonally up across the center and above , as well as other patches around , are those clouds or what , didnt see this nebula before
Pavle Pavlovic that’s a great observation! It’s likely the interstellar dust that’s only visible if it’s blocking starlight out. Same stuff that forms the dust lanes of the Milky Way!
He uses refractors because they give better quality. Though they are like only good for astrophotography. Though there are some astrophotography newt. that are also only good for astrophotography
Galaxy's are more difficult to take pictures because of there low luminosity and are more prone to atmospheric influence. So nebula are my first choice.
What happened to the iOptron mount you reviewed about 9 months ago? Looks like you haven’t cared to get one for yourself. I suggest that you endorse equipment that you actually found good enough to keep for yourself.
Well, the iOptron he reviewed was on loan from Ontario Telescope. Like some of the cameras he reviewed but didn't keep. Like the RASA 8" he didn't buy and keep, etc. Would you suggest Trevor also pack up and move to the Dark Sites he reviews ? Or maybe buy every single item at NEAF that he reviewed ? You can pick a CEM60 up for about $3k USD, so perhaps you can start a TH-cam channel, and buy all the things the companies send to you to review.
Bell Bivdavoe - Correct he was just doing a review, but people rely on his review’s endorsements. I do have an iOptron. It’s an inexpensive (cheap) unit. I see why he went on to other mounts; clearly he himself wasn’t sold on the unit and just months later he bought a different mount. Why would I want to make TH-cams? I’m not looking for sponsors or followers. But I do think if he’s concern about influencing his viewer he should be more critical and forth coming about the equipment. Of course since that may not foster sales some vendors may be cautious of his future reviews.
TheDesert IsPatient Ehh, just because he regards something highly and endorses does not mean he has to use it to validate that opinion. He gives honest product feedback and that's all that matter, and in the higher end markets of just about anything, it comes down to personal preference what products become your daily driver.
Like I said he should endorse gear that he found worthy to keep, not just whatever gear a vendor gave his franchise to promote. There’s lot’s of unhappy owners of iOptron mounts who found they bought a cheap mount and I wonder how many were influenced by the review found here
Amazing. Nebulas are my favourite deep sky object to look through a telescope.

Nice Capture Trevor. I really like the dust lanes you able to capture. Looks great!
Good to know Trevor, I’ve got the Skywatcher Esprit ED80 on my Wishlist for my first Refractor
Spent a few nights on the Iris and love the color and contrasting dark dust clouds. I see your OPT shirt and sadly learned they are closing.
Great Job Trevor, your doing what I wish I could be. Subscribed and a member. Thanks so much for inspiring me to try again. :-)
