This is @ Sadhguru Enlightment day - 2023.. night about 11:30, after it had rained heavily in ISHA Yoga center. I was there in that auditorium.. Imagine sitting here in this auditorium with your eyes closed listening to them, with gratitude in your heart in presence of Sadhguru. The experience was out of the world..
One of the best classical duet I have ever heard. The depth and grace of singing of both singers, their mutual apprecition and encouragement is simply astounding. Divine grace flows while hearing this mind blowing performance. God bless them.

I believe it is Hamsadhwani. In fact , the female vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty's father, Pt. Ajoy Chakraborthy also takes this ragam to stratospheric heights as well, in his renditions. There's a Vathapi Ganapathim (in Hamswadhwani) blissfully rendered by him (available on TH-cam) which is among the very best I've enjoyed by any musician - Carnatic or Hindusthani.

Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock were difficult to follow but Pat Metheney and Dizzie Gillespie were easy listening. In fact Easy Listening weekdays 7.15 pm and Jazz Time (dont remember days of week) were two great programs on AIR (perhaps Yuvabharati). Point I wanted to make is that improvisation is the foundation of jazz. But Indian classical is grounded in adherence to notes, tunes and the underlying feelings. Here the two artists have improved upon the core while maintaining all traditions. That is brilliance.

It's great in many aspects. Carnataka classical music is full of devotional songs. There are no lyrics in this great piece. It is music just music. Their voices are a like a musical instrument. Their vocal cords are Superior to any existing musical instrument.. Amazing control over the notes. The singers enjoyed the most.
I am a great fan of Indian classical music, and I guess one is singing in hindustani and another in South Indian style. I love this jugalbandhi, and it is awesome!
