For some reason the last 10 seconds of audio have been cut. Imu is probably a mythical devil fruit model ApsaraI I also had to cut out the Kaguya bit for a copyright fuckup on my end. Here is the full story, if you want the context.
One day, while walking in the bamboo forest, an old, childless bamboo cutter called Taketori no Okina (竹取翁 "the Old Man who Harvests Bamboo") came across a mysterious, shining stalk of bamboo. After cutting it open, he found inside it an infant the size of his thumb. He rejoiced to find such a beautiful girl and took her home. He and his wife raised her as their own child and named her Kaguya-hime (かぐや姫 accurately, Nayotake-no-Kaguya-hime "princess of flexible bamboos scattering light"). Thereafter, Taketori no Okina found that whenever he cut down a stalk of bamboo, inside would be a small nugget of gold. Soon he became rich. Kaguya-hime grew from a small baby into a woman of ordinary size and extraordinary beauty. At first, Taketori no Okina tried to keep her away from outsiders, but over time the news of her beauty spread.
Eventually, five princes came to Taketori no Okina's residence to ask for Kaguya-hime's hand in marriage. The princes eventually persuaded Taketori no Okina to tell a reluctant Kaguya-hime to choose from among them. Kaguya-hime concocted impossible tasks for the princes, agreeing to marry the one who managed to bring her his specified item. That night, Taketori no Okina told the five princes what each must bring. The first was told to bring her the stone begging bowl of the Buddha from India, the second a jeweled branch from the mythical island of Hōrai, the third the legendary robe of the fire-rat of China, the fourth a colored jewel from a dragon's neck, and the final prince a cowry shell born of swallows.
Realizing that it was an impossible task, the first prince returned with an expensive bowl, but after noticing that the bowl did not glow with holy light, Kaguya-hime saw through his deception. Likewise, two other princes attempted to deceive her with fakes, but also failed. The fourth gave up after encountering a storm, while the final prince lost his life (severely injured in some versions) in his attempt.
After this, the Emperor of Japan, Mikado, came to see the strangely beautiful Kaguya-hime and, upon falling in love, asked her to marry him. Although he was not subjected to the impossible trials that had thwarted the princes, Kaguya-hime rejected his request for marriage as well, telling him that she was not of his country and thus could not go to the palace with him. She stayed in contact with the Emperor, but continued to rebuff his requests and marriage proposals.
That summer, whenever Kaguya-hime saw the full moon, her eyes filled with tears. Though her adoptive parents worried greatly and questioned her, she was unable to tell them what was wrong. Her behaviour became increasingly erratic until she revealed that she was not of this world and must return to her people on the Moon. In some versions of this tale, it is said that she was sent to the Earth, where she would inevitably form material attachment, as a temporary punishment for some crime, while in others, she was sent to Earth for her own safety during a celestial war. The gold that Taketori no Okina had been finding had in fact been a stipend from the people of the Moon, sent down to pay for Kaguya-hime's upkeep.
Kaguya-hime goes back to the Moon
As the day of her return approached, the Emperor sent many guards around her house to protect her from the Moon people, but when an embassy of "Heavenly Beings" arrived at the door of Taketori no Okina's house, the guards were blinded by a strange light. Kaguya-hime announced that, though she loved her many friends on Earth, she must return with the Moon people to her true home. She wrote sad notes of apology to her parents and to the Emperor, then gave her parents her own robe as a memento. She then took a small taste of the elixir of life, attached it to her letter to the Emperor, and gave it to a guard officer. As she handed it to him, the feather robe was placed on her shoulders, and all of her sadness and compassion for the people of the Earth were forgotten. The heavenly entourage took Kaguya-hime back to Tsuki-no-Miyako (月の都/京; lit. "the Capital of the Moon"), leaving her earthly foster parents in tears.
The parents became very sad and were soon put to bed sick. The officer returned to the Emperor with the items Kaguya-hime had given him as her last mortal act, and reported what had happened. The Emperor read her letter and was overcome with sadness. He asked his servants, "Which mountain is the closest place to Heaven?", to which one replied the Great Mountain of Suruga Province. The Emperor ordered his men to take the letter to the summit of the mountain and burn it, in the hope that his message would reach the distant princess. The men were also commanded to burn the elixir of immortality since the Emperor did not wish to live forever without being able to see her. The legend has it that the word immortality (不死 fushi, or fuji) became the name of the mountain, Mount Fuji. It is also said that the kanji for the mountain, 富士山 (literally "Mountain Abounding with Warriors"), are derived from the Emperor's army ascending the slopes of the mountain to carry out his order. It is said that the smoke from the burning still rises to this day. (In the past, Mount Fuji was much more volcanically active.)

I both want and don't want to see Luffy die at the end of the story. I think it will be incredible to see Luffy peacefully pass on after achieving everything he set out to do. Surrounded by his friends, being King of the Pirates, being part of a giant party the entire world is apart of, and Bink's Sake playing during it all. If that happens I will fucking cry

Oda Is immortal confirmed
Oda doesn't often get the praise he deserves. Just imagine dropping foreshadowing and plot threads based on numbers, pictures and dialogues and properly connecting them at later chapters. He has been patiently doing so for the last 24 years. When all these plot threads are solved by the last chapter, we will get a piece of fiction that can outdo any epic fantasy the world has seen.
It is even more amazing when you realize that the time gap between the foreshadowed chapters can go as long as 17 years. Oda never forgets and has the highest level of patience possible.

@Wish People's perspective on One Piece is drastically changing outside the One Pierce community. Two booktubers names Daniel greene and Merohy Napier started One Piece months back and they already love it and it has become one of the best fantasy series they have ever read. Also, the quarantine has greatly boosted One Piece's popularity outside Japan.
Credit where credit is due… but videos like these make massive stretches with some of the connections being flimsy at best.

If you watch Thegrandlinereview he made a great video reacting to his part 1 and points out the big issues with this guy just stringing all these random absurb tangents together. There are some interesting parallels and ideas but they're just completely overshadowed by everything else

My biggest problem with the repeat theory is, that with a story that is so huge and takes so long, you can very easy and often find something that is similar or repeats itself in some way.
Especially if you say the repeating parts can be anywhere in the story. If you are searching for just the smallest hint, you will find something, even it was perhaps totally unaware and unexpected by Oda.
But it can not be coincided and oda has think his way through its is a "THEORY" so obviously there will be some things that will makes no sense. This is why we love onepiece not just because it has a good story and great character but we can make uncountable theory. And I understand your point of view but if we look closely oda clearly makes thing play with his word numbers (which if you are Japanese reader you will know or if you watch youderon's manga ch review) and connect his story at very unnoticeable way possible.

For example the bamboo stick from Vergo may have something to do with the bamboo theme in Kaguras story, but.... maybe not😉😅

i think by repeat theory , you means parallel story line? just like how dressrosa is a mini version of the world. I think Oda want to make his story connect through parallelism... just like how theme of arlong park connects to the fishman island and then like you said if you search for it... things aren't meant to hints will be hints.
One piece is one continous story that span over decades and so i think just like the grand line, Oda want to go full circle on his story.
And i think the bamboo stick is just a foreshadowing for wano... since Doffy connects to Kaido...Vergo connects to Doffy and Vergo is the first character in the story with a bamboo stick...apart from zoro(with the shinai (bamboo sword)) ... we also first time see bamboo and it is in wano
Regardless of whether this theory is accurate or not it has definitely raised the bar for how advanced storytelling could be. If I every make a story I want it to be full of hints, foreshadowing and clues along the way.

As with the last video, I think there are a lot of really good approaches in this video, but also a lot of exaggerated word plays and forced parallels, to be honest.
I really liked the following three points best:
Sugar-Imu parallel: I think Morj actually explained that quite well in his Dressrosa video, that Dressrosa is a mini version of the one piece world. So it fits perfectly that the lost memories in Dressrosa are a parallel to the void century and that aspects of Imu are represented in Sugar. In particular, it's actually really strange that Sugar remains a child forever, because that doesn't really have much to do with her actual devil fruit powers. But I like the fact that it could be a parallel to Imu and that Imu also stays young forever. Maybe also that Imu is female, but that's a bit too far-fetched for me. Oh, and the thought with Law, Doflamingo and immortality is also great!
Drum island-Mary Geoise: I always thought it was strange that there are 20 doctors, just like 20 kings, but I never understood why. But now, after your explanation, it all makes sense. Drum's mountain is the redline. The castle at the top is Pangea castle. Wapol (and not Dr. Kureha!) is Imu and the 20 doctors are the kings. The bottom line is that this really just reflects that Wapol is a terrible ruler, just like Imu, and that his actions are oppressing his empire. Just as he doesn't care about Drum, Imu doesn't really care about the One Piece world. Wapol takes away their doctors and thus their freedom. When they are sick, they have to submit to Wapol because he has all the doctors. Imu is taking away the world's leaders and thus likewise the freedom of the kingdoms' inhabitants. And especially when you consider that Wapol was One Piece's first king and right after that is Alabasta with a good king, it makes sense that the overarching theme at the time of the story was ruling and kings. So it fits perfectly that Oda foreshadowed Imu and the One Piece world at just such a time. + Between Drum and Alabasta, Riverie was introduced, which again fits perfectly.
Fishman Island-Mary Geoise: I have to say, I really really like the idea of the Eve tree in the video and it just makes such perfect sense, especially geographically.
For one thing, I think the parallel with Mary Goise's treasure and Fishman Island is very coherent and obvious when you think about it. What would reinforce the idea of the tree is that we saw a specific room when Imu was introduced: The room with the tree. It would fit so well if that is the top of the Eve tree. What if this is the room where the celestial dragons, Imu and the five elder stars take the air with the ability to be immortal. And what if this is the life energy of the fish people...I mean think about it. Why did Joyboy want to bring the fish people to the surface? Well, on the one hand, so that they become an equal part of society, but maybe also because they are being robbed of their life energy. We also know that fish people are much stronger than normal people. It could be that they also live much longer, but their life energy is robbed from them. Two other foreshadowings would be Hody Jones and his crew losing their life energy and basically the whole Wholecake island arc and Big Mom's abilities.
Other than that, I found the Kaguya theory, the Robin-Imu parallel and the idea of a water fruit very interesting. However, I feel that at this point there is still no solid information for the three theories. But in principle these are great concepts.

Yeah, first theory had the same problem as well. But when it isn't foucused on trying to connect vague things for the sake of connecting them it does present good ideas, like you said. The idea that the Celestial Dragons have some kind of immortality is particularly interesring to me, it would make a LOT of sense considering the evidence presented and the fact that somebody like Dr Vegapunk exists. Overall, the meaty stuff outweighs the vague stuff.

Well not to hate by any means cause oda just a fck g and goat but if u think about it all these clues aint that much. Let's say there are 50 hack 100 direct clues about the actual ending. Each chapter with I don't know 12 pages or sum u get over 10 thousand pages which show that in this scale it's not much the more u consider that most clues are single words in a pool of millions of words. This seems to refer to "sun god Nika" who's physical description doesn't much match Luffy in his gear 4th, but the wiki on Niko says "According to the legend heard by Who's-Who, Nika was a heroic, benevolent figure who was a friend to slaves. It was said that Nika would one day come for the slaves to liberate them from their oppressive masters and bring smiles to their faces"

Having a devil fruit that lets you manipulate water would be perfect for the "final boss" since it's the natural enemy to all devil fruit users, thus explaining why Imu is so powerful.
This is something that was speculated for a long time, when such a devil fruit would appear.
Thinking about Dragon this would also make sense. Since many people think he has a weather fruit, this would make him the "worlds worst criminal", maybe the fruit can lead to similar powers Imu has.
Another excellent connection someone here in the comments pointed out would be the filler arc where the crew's memories got stolen.
This happens while they were sleeping and the person doing it was, you guessed it, underwater like an Apsara or Nymph.
Which would lead to another interesting connection, which is Blackbeard who never sleeps. Intentional or unintentionally, this would prevent his memories from being stolen if it only can take place while sleeping.
Blackbeard also of course coming from a snow country.
The next interesting food for thought would be the connection between Eva and the tree of knowledge. Eating the forbidden fruit, getting tricked by the devil. The devil fruits.
This would also explain the symbolism with the D. family being the natural enemy of the gods, because they ate the devil fruits, hence becoming devils. The natural enemy of god. In Buddhist mythology, Apsaras are seen as half human half god.
This would also fit with the pirate theme as generally being the bad guys.
Maybe Imu doesn't even have a devil fruit, but just IS an Apsara. Just like mermaids exist as a race.
Really interesting as well is that Oda once said in an interview that the main three protagonists that will play a big role are Luffy, Zoro and Nami.
Nami so far has not played an important role at all. Maybe her time will come when we figure out her lineage. Maybe she is connected or a direct descended from Imu.
It is not normal that a person could perfectly predict weather like her, just by looking at it.
Apsaras are known as "ghosts" of the clouds and waters.
Of course during the time skip Nami was studying in Weatheria, a city in the clouds.

I was hyped by your (or yuderon's) first theory eventhough some piece of it (pun intended) were a bit too much for me, but this theory seems waaaaay too far-fetched for me.
Some of it is interesting, the double meaning with kureha and drum's story parallels at the beginning of the video. But when you started seeing space ships and stuff it became difficult to keep following you in your theory...
Imu is not two sides of the same coin but 5 sides of it here... And if you take every single character of one piece, obviously you are going to find parallels, it is hard to do the part between what's a coincidence and what's a real foreshadowing.
That's what I felt when you look at the Doflamingo's crew. You take some of them, the one that fit in your theory but it is not something that is generalized to each and everyone of them. Why Sugar & Violette and not Pika and Diamante? Because we often see what we want to see and that's what it felt like in your video.
This is my opinion and as lot of this video depends on how you interpret it, I know it won't be the same for everybody :)

I agree. I'm always sceptical of theories based on chapter numbers and what appears in them... especially here where towards the end he uses imu-sama to find meaning in a chapter number when previously it's just been imu.

Oda definitely likes number puns and he uses them when he gets an opportunity, but while One Piece is planned in advance, it is not planned to the point of exact chapter numbers being planned years in advance. We know that for a fact since Oda has changed many parts of the planned story as he went along (most notably the super nova) and the story has landers way longer than he initially expected.
Thats all he does for the entire video and its exhausting. He did it in the first video too. If you watch Thegrandlinereview he made a great video reacting to his part 1 and points out the big issues with this guy just stringing all these random absurb tangents together. Dropping this as a note to when this series ends, the opposite of the “devil child” Nico robin as Imu would be “mother of god” aka sun god luffy, and would need to make dragon aka the one who took luffy as the worst criminal and which kept dragon from ever getting close to luffy for a lot of time because imu could possibly trace luffy through him except for when the weather turns and he must save him. I'm not sure if Ohara mentioned it but since Imu's powers are related to the sea wouldn't it make sense that she is the one who launched and sank the two islands?

@@FalConXG We also don't know if Im is a "he", and it would nicely contract to Blackbeard and Akinue(the other man antagonists). It would be nice change of pace to have a gentle, polite, but ruthless women be the main villain, instead of a hulking macho man.

Amazing theory yet again
The part about the Eve tree being the source of immortality for the celestial dragons and Luffy being fated to destroy it alongside the Redline and in extension Fishmen Island was particularly mindblowing.
It neatly connects to the theory that the One Piece is actually the connection of all the Blues through the destruction of the Redline, I love it.
I thought I would just include this to add to the theory. This may be something Oda also took inspiration from and would definitely strengthen the argument posed in your theory about the Eve tree, particularly the canopy, somehow granting immortality to the celestial dragons up on Marijois. The idea of Imu somehow hoarding the key to immortality that grows on a tree and only giving it to the "Gods" of the world, instantly reminded me of the character Idunn from Norse mythology.
Just in case you may not be familiar with the character...
"Iðunn is introduced in the Prose Edda in section 26 of the Prose Edda book Gylfaginning. Here, Iðunn is described as Bragi's wife and keeper of an eski (a wooden box made of ash wood and often used for carrying personal possessions) within which she keeps apples. Should your theory turn out to be right then I definitely would not be surprised if it turned out that the source of the immortality was actually the fruit produced by the Eve tree (of course this kinda contradicts my own personal theory that all devil fruits grow on the Eve tree and that they are only spread throughout the world through some smuggling ring). This would make Imu a parallel to Iðunn, as a figure whose fruit provides the "Gods" immortality, a figure that the "Gods" are dependent on to maintain their stature and status. This would make the Celestial Dragons, the so-called "Gods" of the world, a parallel to the Æsir, who depend on these fruits to maintain their longevity. Though, unlike Iðunn, I wonder if the Celestial Dragons themselves, at least the common ones, are actually aware of the existence of Imu themselves or they just believe the Gorosei are the ultimate authority like we did for most of the series. I also like the detail in the original text that Iðunn keeps these apples in an "eski (a wooden box made of ash wood and often used for carrying personal possessions)" which may strengthen the suggestion that this may indeed be the national treasure Doflamingo was talking about since, as we have seen in Wholecake island, that it's common for important treasures to be kept in a box like that.

The idea of Ragnarök being the twilight of the "Gods" that would see to the end of their reign and longevity. This represents the inevitable destruction of the Æsir and their home Asgard, that is the Celestial Dragons and their domain Marijois, i.e. The Redline. However, this doesn't end there. You see, in some tellings of the Norse mythology, Ragnarök is not the ultimate end of the Æsir, but rather a cyclic event, a process of death and rebirth for them. Just recently we learnt that King is a member of a mostly extinct race known as the Lunarians that used to live above the Redline. Given their natural ability to conjure fire and fly, I would not be surprised if they were considered "Gods" during their time. This would suggest that "Ragnarök" has occurred before with their removal from the Redline and possibly their massacre at the hands of Imu and whoever she was with. Two sides of the same coin and all that. This could possibly go back even before the Lunarians and whoever they disposed of and so on. Meaning Luffy should be the one to end the cycle by destroying the site of the cycle of Ragnarök, the Redline.
This idea of Iðunn and her apples of immortality was something I initially thought would only be relevant once we get to Elbaf since that's the setting most influenced by Viking culture and symbolism as well as Norse mythology with the introduction of Loki and the allusion to a giant tree, a possible reference to the World Tree Yggdrasill. Of course that's still not out of the question, but I think it fits here more for now.
I do have other wild theories about Yggdrasill and its connections to Laughtale, but we'll save that for another day

Damn you probably right it all connects and it could just be that there is another type of fruit one that grants immortality for those who awaken it maybe something like the cycle applies to the fruits too and once a fruit has awakened it could eventually once the user dies be able to grant it so that’s why the world government wants to kill or capture all pirates not only to silence them but to possibly gain the power of an awakened fruit and maybe the devil fruits are smuggled out of the tree and into the world to give fear to use them and not be able to swim but it is also necessary and the ones who aren’t awakened get distribed randomly and ones like the gumu gumu could be a “god” class fruit
