You forgot when you accidently merge your coal belt into your iron plate lane in the main bus and now you have to chase it down through the entire thing
Filter ran out of space to put iron, so my poor coal buffer had random bits of iron spread across almost 150 chests and it'd blocked off my boilers =_= pain
I once had no inventory space when upgrading my coal belt to fast belts... specifically, no room for the fast underground belts. And I was upgrading because the belt wasn't able to keep up with demand so there goes the old underground down past the smelters... and I don't have the inventory space to go and grab you....
I had a moment where I somehow merged copper ore into my coal ore being sent to my steam engines. I wondered why i was suddenly running out of energy. Fun fact: steam engines cannot be fueled by copper ore.

It's very emotional when you got flatten by your own train, so that's probably why factorio players remember it very much and with big hate. However thank you for watching and good luck with your trains!
@@Itsahappylif3 What exactly makes no sense to you in signals? If there's a train in the following node, train won't go. If there isn't, it will. If you put a chain signal then it will also look at the node after its own. That's all
@@Itsahappylif3 chain signal before a crossing, rail signal after. Stick to one way tracks; trains going both ways means eventually you'll have 2 trains come face to face and just shut everything down. Put an occasional rail signal on long stretches, I usually do 1 every 2 big power poles. In fact, I base my entire rail system around this spacing, building intersections at those signal points. Basically, a train checks the shortest path from itself to the destination, then breaks that up into sections between rail signals. If the next section has no other train in it, the train moves up. If there is a train present, the train stops at the rail signal before the occupied section, or at the chain signal before that. It's not too bad once you figure out the mechanics, but it's completely alien otherwise, lol.
When you decide to scrap a section of the factory and build over it using a blueprint, but deconstruction results in random items scattered everywhere and they get on belts as the blueprint is constructed and pollute everything. When you deconstruct a section of the factory, but forget to leave roboports and power poles and it becomes a partially deconstructed and upowered wreck. When you deconstruct something, but stand too close and your personal roboport fills your inventory with trash. When you accidentally take off your armour and the stuff in your inventory explodes, gets scattered on the ground and pollutes some belts. When you use the Helicopter mod and accidentally collide with a big electricity pole. When you mix liquids in pipes and have to purge entire section of a refinery or it won't work. When you drive a tank and a single construction robots follows you, then catches up to you 15 minutes later or just explodes somewhere. When you build a defensive line, but bugs somehow sneak through and start new hives inside the safe zone. Multiplayer tank or rocket accidents when clearing up hives. I would often collide with other people's tanks and power armours while kiting, then bugs would often catch up and kill us both. Bodies were basically unrecoverable and people were salty with me. The sheer grindiness of killing large hives, even with laser turret creep. N00b refinery fills with Light Oil or something, because putting solid fuel in boxes would be too much to ask, let alone setting up logic to crack oil when necessary. Power shortage when lasers fire at bugs and due to not using burner inserters for boilers, the inserters fueling the power plant slow down to a crawl. Oil fields are either very small, very far away or under massive hives. Accidentally disembarking or embarking on a train. Wrongly setting up Kovarex process, so that not all glowing stuff is efficiently replicated. Trying to build something, but getting carried away by belts. Using a bus (parallel belts of iron, copper, etc.), but not leaving enough room to add more belts to it when the base expands.
Re: the getting run over by the train I invented an conveyer-powered-state-selector-powered signal system that activates and deactivates crossing signals and alarms. It uses a bunch of conveyer loops that let drop pass gates activated by stations until it reaches a sensor that activates all alarms in a given length of track. The alarms either come in the form of keep clear alarms on platforms and built-up areas, or crossing gates.
Damn you're really dedicated about answering all the comments. Not many who do that. That part with running along the train tracks is kinda, well, weird. As he said, not really relatable. Getting run over while crossing the rails however definitely is ^^
I shouldn't replay to you just to make it ironic :) If I got few comments per day it's not hard to answer all of them, however in first day when I've uploaded it on reddit I was literary answering to comments for half day xd Thank you for your ideas, I'm collecting footage to part 2 (70% done, I think), so more pains is good to know. And about trains, I just took the easies way to get footage for video and I wasn't thinking that it could look suspicious and unrealistic for people. but after few comments I realize that some people was analyzing the whole video and every mistake was I made was spotted :D Thank you for your comments and support, have a great day :D
@@Trupen I was afraid, well, almost expected you wouldn't reply just for the lolz. Appreciate it that you did however ;) That's what I was thinking about the train clips. It was the easiest way because whenever you cross the rails trying to get run over on purpose there would never be a train coming ^^ Oh, and something else: I've looked into some other videos of you and read some comments about your voice being kind of hard to understand. I also read about your education system not really caring about the pronounciation of the English language, which is quite a bummer. For me personally it's just a matter of getting used to it. However, I have seen a lot of YT channels using text to speech for that reason. Maybe you want to look into that too. But if you prefer doing the voiceovers yourself that is of course your choice and also perfectly fine. Good day to you too dear Sir :)
At least. But sometimes things are happen, biters know when you died, and when your turrets are out of ammo because you accidently removed a chain signal and your train system just stucked. :D Murphy... :D
I loved the train montage at the end. I've been playing on multiplayer maps recently, and any time there are other players online, I get the inevitable "X was killed by locomotive/cargo wagon". Speaking of trains, I'll never forget the time I placed a locomotive down for my personal transport ... then a massive train just wooshed by, and my poor little train was just sitting there flattened on the track. :'( I've also been playing on a multiplayer map with really long trains (3 locomotives, 8 cargo wagons) and poor signal placement - and I kept having to figure out how to unravel a massive spaghetti tangle.
When your materials overlap and a mining drill mines both copper and iron, producing a belt clog (can be fixed using filter inserters, but still a bit frustrating). When you took the automatic train to your oil-outpost and forgot to climb aboard when the conditions were met. Stuck in middle of nowhere waiting on the next one.
3 years later and I've sunken over a hundred hours into this beautiful game, no doubt in part to this very video. I wonder if Trupen remembers this random comment at all (unlikely) This video is now viscerally painful (yay!)
when this video first came out i innocently haha'd my way through, not thinking much more about it. Now i've clocked 500 hours in the game and every point made resonates in my bones
1. Having to restart after updating mods that you don't actually have enabled 2. Having a singular pipe/belt vanishing mysteriously, halting your entire factory (or my base could just be haunted) 3. Robots taking stuff away from your inventory when you deconstruct 4. Having a power outtage during biters invasion because of laser turret 5. Having to destroy an entire row of pipes and replace them again because they have liquids in them (thank goodness they fixed it) 6. Having other stuff mixed up in your train cargo, and when you realized it, there are already a bunch of rocks in your iron bus 7. Unequipping your armor when you have full inventory 8. Having full inventory and not having slot left to craft a chest 9. Boiler inserter didn't work fast enough to insert coal, now youre low on power, thus tanking your coal production, and before you know it the whole base blacks out Also that guy who accidentally blew off his base is a big oof
I have a couple: When your machines are neat and symmetrical but when you place down power poles there’s that one inserter that isn’t connected. When you exit the car and forget to brake.
Great video! 1) Taking off armor with a full inventory 2) Contaminated belts, like mixing up ore and plates 3) Crafting your first rocket silo / power armor, but picking up the machine 1 second early and losing all the materials
Those are good ideas but I had footage with contaminated belts, but there was no space left in this video, so it stays on my hdd. And idea with taking of armor was already mentioned on reddit. It's very emotional when you got flatten by your own train, so that's probably why factorio players remember it very much and with big hate.
However thank you for watching and good luck with your trains!
Use more trains
@@Itsahappylif3 They makes sense but it's a bit complicated at the beginning to understand
Oh dude, that's a lot of things!
Thank you, so much
This is why railway safety is important, kids.
Remember, never walk on railways.
Exactly, it is education video about trains, I'm glad that somebody spot that :D
I swear there's a little gremlin that runs around rotating belts when I'm not looking
Hahaha biters special forces to provide a distraction in your factory :D
Re: the getting run over by the train
I invented an conveyer-powered-state-selector-powered signal system that activates and deactivates crossing signals and alarms.
Some painful things that were not yet mentioned before (i think):
*) when one underground belt/pipe gets destroyed by biters (or you ran it over with your car/tank) and now you have to destroy the second one too * insert I'm sorry little one *
*) when there are too many biter attacks at night and the laser turrets drain all of your accumulators in a solar only supply
*) building a long belt/pipe starting from one direction then continuing from the other and realizing that they don't match up in the middle - not really a big deal but it's messing with my OCD
*) a train driving off just at that very moment you are about to enter it to get back to the main base
*) low on red circuits -> upgrading production -> low on green circuits -> upgrading their production -> low on copper wires AND iron plates -> fml
*) when you have set the biters on peaceful mode and walk right into a hive with a personal laser defense equipped - I'm not talking from experience... definitely not... not at all
*) having to deal with obsolete stuff like burner inserters when you don't have any use for them anymore
- yeah I know the good ol' chest trick; it's still annoying
*) going somewhere by car, getting distracted, going back to the base by foot (maybe cleaning out a way for future rails) and then wondering, where tf my car at?
looking forward to part 2 :)
And btw, I have to agree with someone else here in the comments. That part with running along the train tracks is kinda, well, weird. As he said, not really relatable.
Getting run over while crossing the rails however definitely is ^^
I shouldn't replay to you just to make it ironic :) If I got few comments per day it's not hard to answer all of them, however in first day when I've uploaded it on reddit I was literary answering to comments for half day xd
Thank you for your ideas, I'm collecting footage to part 2 (70% done, I think), so more pains is good to know.
And about trains, I just took the easies way to get footage for video and I wasn't thinking that it could look suspicious and unrealistic for people. but after few comments I realize that some people was analyzing the whole video and every mistake was I made was spotted :D
Thank you for your comments and support, have a great day :D
@@Trupen I was afraid, well, almost expected you wouldn't reply just for the lolz. Appreciate it that you did however ;)
That's what I was thinking about the train clips. It was the easiest way because whenever you cross the rails trying to get run over on purpose there would never be a train coming ^^
Oh, and something else: I've looked into some other videos of you and read some comments about your voice being kind of hard to understand.
Having an odd number of underground belt or pipe is not particularly bad, but it always makes you groan.
alien enemies: we will chase you and kill you.
*train: hold my beer*
I watched this video as one of those that got me into the game. Now i can finally understand. I am WORTHY
When you die in the middle of nowhere, and forget ur exact position where your corpse are... huge pain!
at least devs give you 15 minutes for looking and crying xd
At least. But sometimes things are happen, biters know when you died, and when your turrets are out of ammo because you accidently removed a chain signal and your train system just stucked. :D Murphy... :D
this is beauty in it's finest form. Thank you for your contribution
Thank you for your warm words and support
That no path part got me right in my soul
Me: driving a car
That one wooden pole: *fuck*
You forgot when you clear a nest and suddenly a new one pops up in its place a few seconds later
Yea, being trolled by biters, pure pain :D
Getting run over by trains is unavoidable, they have magnets and the armor is made of metal :D
"A game that teaches you economy, pollution, outside threats, aaaaaaaaaaaand *PAIN* !"
There is always somebody on multiplayer who "hugs" trains to much :D
It’s wild because this is actually the music I listen to when I play factorio
I laughed so hard at the Spidertron doing that leg extension 😂 😂
I love the guy’s face right when he realizes that he just nuked his green chips.
When your materials overlap and a mining drill mines both copper and iron, producing a belt clog (can be fixed using filter inserters, but still a bit frustrating).
When you took the automatic train to your oil-outpost and forgot to climb aboard when the conditions were met. Stuck in middle of nowhere waiting on the next one.
belt spliters have filter, even the yellow ones
1:01 this is my normal day in multiplayer with my friend, when car reacts only after 2 seconds and i already destroyed whole factory
just load game to old save
This only makes me want to download the game even more.
yes indeed that was my plan...
That thumbnail wouldn't kill you, it'd just destroy all the trains.
it's making of of this thumbnail:

Who could endure such pain
Only madman I guess, and that dude what was building, recording and synchronizing to music all of this footage.
That guy is a real madman.

oh man. i don't even play factorio but i felt this at an instinctual level.
My dads too addicted to this game
it's possible with this game..
50% of the video is just him dying on railroad tracks 😂
1:19 when you turn on your bran new computer smelting array
Since I don't play factorio, none of this hurts!
Wait, that outstanding move is illegal!
3 years later and I've sunken over a hundred hours into this beautiful game, no doubt in part to this very video. I wonder if Trupen remembers this random comment at all (unlikely)
This video is now viscerally painful (yay!)
i dont even play factorio, dunno whats going on, but hey pain is pain, always relatable
On first game when you just saved and 5 second later you received a shit ton of "Turret Damage" and "Turret Destroyed"
It's not that bad when you read "Turrets Destroyed" in alert, It's worse when you see half of your base in alert :D
when this video first came out i innocently haha'd my way through, not thinking much more about it. Now i've clocked 500 hours in the game and every point made resonates in my bones
When you're doing the oil production and you mix the water pipe with the oil one... :)
I'm shook, that hits close to home
1. Having to restart after updating mods that you don't actually have enabled
2. Having a singular pipe/belt vanishing mysteriously, halting your entire factory (or my base could just be haunted)
3. Robots taking stuff away from your inventory when you deconstruct
4. Having a power outtage during biters invasion because of laser turret
5. Having to destroy an entire row of pipes and replace them again because they have liquids in them (thank goodness they fixed it)
6. Having other stuff mixed up in your train cargo, and when you realized it, there are already a bunch of rocks in your iron bus
7. Unequipping your armor when you have full inventory
8. Having full inventory and not having slot left to craft a chest
9. Boiler inserter didn't work fast enough to insert coal, now youre low on power, thus tanking your coal production, and before you know it the whole base blacks out
Also that guy who accidentally blew off his base is a big oof
That's a fair amount of pains...
Thanks
I have a couple:
When your machines are neat and symmetrical but when you place down power poles there’s that one inserter that isn’t connected.
When you exit the car and forget to brake.
Thanks it'll be useful
....and it continues to drive right into a biter nest only to be destroyed.....and it was your ride back home.
Great video!
1) Taking off armor with a full inventory
2) Contaminated belts, like mixing up ore and plates
3) Crafting your first rocket silo / power armor, but picking up the machine 1 second early and losing all the materials
Those are good ideas but
I had footage with contaminated belts, but there was no space left in this video, so it stays on my hdd.
And idea with taking of armor was already mentioned on reddit.
However this thing with crafting is truly painful and not mentioned anywhere at all.
Thanks and have less pain in your factory!
@@Trupen There's always part 2...
@@bbgun061 There will be part 2 sooner or later
Shift clicking a powerpole without noticing it, while copypasting asemblers
Also accidentaly launching your artillery into your base
Happy to hear you joined ManuFactory as an advisor :D
This should have been trailer for this game. Represents the game way better :D
Fun fact, this video gets a lot of recommended views from original factorio trailer :D
When you're dragging a blue belt and accidentally put coal on the iron main bus and you have to chase your entire factory to stop the contamination.
Also add to list a case when coal is gone. You have all, but cant produce even rockets for rocketlauncher.
and your spidertron runs out of rockets, and you get a blackout, and biters are chewing away all your bots, that's scary
It's comments section, not scary stories evening D:
This is fantastic.
10/10.
Bravo.
Thanks :D
0:47 i don't think Ive ever cringed harder at spaghetti before
Reddit can give you "unique" experiences :)
That car bit just gave me nam flashbacks of playing on multiplayer servers
1:42 LITERALLY JUST HAPPENED TO ME.
There are 2 types of people after that accident:
1. Make fun out of it
2. Blame themselves/game and are angry
explain what happened? Is it a mini nuke launcher that went off?
@@lulzalfest I was learning how the nukes worked at the time and didn't know how to launch them so I left it alone and them all of a sudden some aliens were attacking my base and I decided to use my rocket launcher since it seemed like the fastest way to deal with them but what I didn't realize was that the nukes were in the ammo slot and not the normal rockets so I ended up blowing up half of my base and myself.
“Can’t load this save file, its corrupt”
“But the autosave thats 2 seconds before that save is fine”
“CAN’T LOAD THIS FILE”
Excellent video, hellos from reddit
Nice to hear that.
I wish you less pains in your factory :)
Go to the Donald dot win. Way better
Me: Builds Car
Random Mineable Rock: I am now your greatest enemy
When in your first base you understand that the economy of space for basic production was a very bad idea and you need to rebuild it all.
People usually just build a second base somewhere else because it is faster
>set up train signals
>biters target them immediately instead of anything else
IMO the whole vydao should just be the "no path" constantly popping up
I didn't want to make to many nightmares for people :D
dude, discovering this channel is like finding a fresh gold vein! :D
Wow, thanks!
2:27 no.
That one friend that rotates your inserters because they want to preserve resources, but they don't tell you about it and then just forget about it.
And then you are making blueprint out of it because "it works too slow" :D
Trains are the most deadly enemy in the game
Are you sure?
What about the guy who placed all the trains?
Have a nice day dude :D
I learned pretty quickly that when your car gets stuck, the best thing is to just get out and put it in your pocket.
The "No Path"... that hurts. Theres always shouting and tears(like an abusive relationship) and ends with me just asking what does it want from me.
ive never played factorio , watched factorio or seen it but it just autoplayed and trough diffirent factory managment type games i still understand the pain
It wasn't planed effect, but I like it :D
Paint
I was reading your comment and thinking, "what the hell he is talking about there was nothing made with paint, maybe he misspelled pain"
And then I realized what is in description.
You made my day xd
This was delightful! I loved the video.
Thank you for your lovely words and support
Just started playing, I’m not looking forward to any of these. Thank You 🤣
they will eventually happened to you :)
The absolute worst pain in factorio is getting stuck on a fkn invisible cliff while in the middle of a biter base
So.
F*%&ing.
TRIGGERED.
;)
water in factorio: exists
Anything: this is not water *its Aqua Regia*
As someone who started playing just this week, I have yet to see a lot of this first-hand but I'm worried how long it'll be before any of it happens
(Note - I _have_ played Mindustry before too, I've carried most my knowledge over from there)
This is why you put the production in the center of your factory so that the aliens don't moonch on your power grid
Literally all resource production dead center as possible, then you build around that stuff like a chad.
That is a smart move to do :)
Genius watermark lmao
Thank you,
