  • Initial thoughts on the Wurkkos FC11.
    Hight CRI and nice warm tint with some features you don't usually get on a budget light as such a low price. Very impressed so far at this price level. My full review will be up once testing is all complete.

    Just bought one as a gift for one of my pals.

      This would be a pretty strong contender for my top 5 lights I could recommend to people as a good gift. It simply shines (excuse the pun) when you look at it's performance for price.

    Of all my pricey little EDC lights I own, this cheap one has been my favorite. The price vs functionality, practicality, quality construction, reliability, USB C with actual freaking PD support, magnetic tail, good beam, quality LED, it's all good.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's very hard to mark this light down, the only thing I can knock so far is the clip and bearing in mind the low price I'm super happy with mine and I will keep recommending it as a gift idea.

    I got the purple variant recently for gifts and ended up keeping one, it's a solid unit 👍

      I have heard so many good things in the comments on this and the full review video. This light is a really nice value light. I'm going to recommend this over the S2+ for those that want charging.
      I hope you keep enjoying this gem of a light. 👍

    Two of my all time favorite flashlights in this video, BLF A6 and wurkkos FC11.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm with you here, why is it that the A6 still gets looked over? I've never understood that? It's powerful and rugged and very cheap. I've recommended it multiple times to people and they have all said they liked it when they bought one.
      I feel the same way about the s11, which is heavy but has a beautiful beam and tint. I will keep singing the praises for this FC11 though. One of the people I told to buy one has come back and said it's great so I might start recomendibg it over a convoy S2+ now.

      @@TrailTrek I think that it is because of its reliability, its ease of use, its resistance and naturally its power, which makes the A6 still highly recommended and sought after by those who have had them. I honestly don't see this on many flashlights.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It feels like the A6 was ahead of it's time. Very high output and good price. It was one of the first decent lights I bought and it still holds up against other lights these days which says allot. I would love to see an A7 be released with new led and updated body. I would buy that straight away.

    Ya I looked up that flashlight and they say they are using sofirn factory or having them making them for them

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting, I had a strong feeling this might be the case. Even the anodising wears at the same rate I see on sofirn lights.

      Very interesting I like my EC01. I've just been told the wurkkos TS21 which is like that but from wurkkos is a great light. I'm really liking what wurkkos are bringing to the market right now, I hope they can keep this up.

      Very nice, what do you think of the clip? The reason I ask is that I love this light but wish they would stick on a longer one or a one of these reversible ones.

    • @chrisd5016
      @chrisd5016 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TrailTrek You are right on the clip, for EDC I always prefer the reversible clips like on the Wurkkos FC12

      How do you rate the fc12? I see they have new colours out. It looks really nice to me.

    • @chrisd5016
      @chrisd5016 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TrailTrek Bought the FC12 in purple, really nice color. I like that it has a tail switch, reversible clip, but not deep carry. It is definitely more of a thrower compared to the FC 11, has a much deeper smooth reflector, and the SFT40 is also more a thrower LED. At the moment you can get the light only in 6500k, for me this is a negative because I prefer warmer tint. But on the other hand cooler tint makes mores sense for a thrower. Also no tail stand due to the tail switch and it is around 1.8 cm longer than the FC 11

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hmmm it could be, i mean out of the box the fist night i tested it felt slightly less bright then my other lights but that was due to the tint and high cri. other than that it stacks up pretty well. it may be that you got a dud there which is a massive shame as this is a nice value light i bought.

    The FC11 is a nice light, I have one, however, I believe what disappoints me is that a lot of these new lights that more emitter options are not available. What if I wanted this light with an Osram P9? Or a Nichia 219C? They should make these available for these lights as an option. I mean, it would be nice to have a ramping option for some emitters. It seems the Osram P9 has a limited availibility and as such some Nichias, and some others. Maybe there are times a nice cool white is preferred, or a higher kelvin light such as a 5700K is preferred as well with a higher CRI. Just an observation that in hopes in the coming future that some light manufacturers might consider to have these lights more useful/ sought after.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree and at the end of the day more options like that would mean more sales for the company so I'm not sure why they don't always do that. I love a neutral and warm tint but I also want them to offer a cool white for users that love that then we can all enjoy a nice light. The p9 is a led i dont see all that often yet had fun with in lights like the wuben c3
