I went to China October 2019 just after I turned 15 and to this day it was the best thing I ever did and I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to of been able to go not even 2 months before Corona came. I’ll be honest watching this video made me so emotional because the week I spent there was the happiest I’ve felt and seeing all the places I’ve been bought back so many memories
Claire! What a beautiful video!! We’re going to Beijing in September and you just made us super excited. Lots of great tips. Looking forward to more videos.
Your reaction toward a new environment is so inspiring. It's calming and stirring at the same time. I've been living in Beijing for 13 years now, and this video still gives me a new perspective at this city💕
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job!
Some small tips for tourist who want to visit the summer palace. The summer palace has many gates, and it is often suggested that tourists enter by 北宫门or 新建宫门,where people could get by subway line4 or bus 374 respectively. 东宫门 is also a very good option since it is regarded as the main gate. Few people would choose 西门 as in this video because it might be the most distant way, since a large lake keep the main tourist attractions away from 西门. To enter the palace through 西门 you should take WS line which is actually not directly connected with the metro system. Though you might get a different experiences entering by different gates, and you could catch ferry to the main attractions at a very reasonable price. So, whatever, just enjoy your time in the summer palace.
I was looking for my grandmother in this video😉 She goes to the temple of heaven almost everyday, and I used to accompany with her before attending primary school. Lots of places in this video bring me deja vu. I miss my hometown for real😭
The soothing meditative music that you play in the middle of your videos and the NAT GEO kind of music at the end makes the experience of watching your videos even more divine! Great work and thank you for showing such beautiful places!
I love the musical beats in the background...I got to travel Beijing without spending any money through this TH-cam video...thank you for uploading...it seems an amalgam of ancient culture and modern technology
I went to Beijing in 2019. Wonderful 3 days!!! The Wall was amazing, the Temple of Heaven is breathtaking, the summer palace park is so beautiful and peaceful, but my favorite was the Forbidden City. The architecture and history is just overwhelming. The restaurants were all fantastic. I have loved every moment I have spent in China!!✌️✌️✌️
Save country to travel. No homeless, no beggers, no violence, no gangs, rioting, no angry people around. Amazing knowing there are 1,4 bil. people living there.
Actually you should have a tour guide during visit to Forbidden City. You would get to know all kind of story in every corner, building and palaces. It is a very historical place. And you wouldn't get lost inside there.
I could totally tell how good you are as a photographer by watching this. Every screenshot in your video looks elegant and gorgeous. The angel of the architecture, the colour, the layout and moving objects. As a Chinese, I could feel much related. Fantastic work!
Great trip through Beijng. I enjoy your enthusiasm on all of your videos. This brought back great memories from when my wife and I were there in 2019. We loved China and the people there. I also had to have my picture taken a thousand times with locals there. That was really fun. Keep up the good work.
Great Vlog! We like to share content like this with our Chinese language students. They will be ready to travel around China with travel Chinese lessons and these videos help keep them motivated! Keep it up 👍

As a newcomer to China, I think you have done a perfect job. You discovered the most beautiful part or perspective of China. Some even for the locals they cannot discover.👍
Great job Claire!!! Can’t believe you finished all these attractions in ONE day, it should be a 3 day tour for me I guess ;) Really love the sunset part at the summer palace, soooooooo beautiful and the bg music is fantastic as well! Well done!
Your video reminds me of the 9 years I spent in Beijing. Everything is familiar, and I miss the city! You should've tried authentic Chinese food there, instead of eating fast noodles (yes, that's not ramen) at the hotel. Thank you so much for making such a high-quality video!
your channel is a good find! I love the natural and cheerful way you deal with the little problems. Its like beeing really there with a friend. the picture in 14:26 is amazing. :DD
You should go to Jingshan Park after you exit the Forbidden City to see the overview of the Forbidden City, that is one of the most beautiful angle. The other angle is corner tower
15:09 when you were walking through the corridor take a minute and look up to the paintings on top. There were hundreds of paintings depicting stories from Chinese classics
I very much enjoyed the images of Summer Palace. I visited in July 2019 and it was horrible. So smoggy you couldn't see the island from the shore. School was out so all the children and locals and tourists made it SO crowded you could hardly move, much less see/enjoy anything. It was over 100F and then it rained on us. OMG. But YOUR images from your day show me how beautiful it truly is. And impressive. I will def have to visit again in the future.
Haha I didn’t imagine Beijing is so Old school. Everything is so old and so are the facilities. I’m from a small city in the south and Beijing streets seem too dirty for us. You should visit some southern cities haha!! OMG but the ancient buildings are stunning I love them
Thanks for sharing this, really makes me miss China. Fantastic to see your impressions! Hope to move to Beijing next year and this makes me really excited. Greetings from Hong Kong 😊🌆
I am here waiting for you guys to come back to visit again. I will be your tour guide and driver and let you explore more places that you never see before.
Thanks Katie! Customer service in China tends to be blunt and to the point, much less smiley as what we are used to in the US. I found the locals to be incredibly patient and helpful and it helped to not take their style of customer service personally. If you want to see a real mood though...there's some pretty legit screaming coming up in episode 19 hahaha
all I want to say is WOW! u did 3 places in one day? 😂 if u take a tour with a tour guide inside forbidden City that's gonna take at least 3 hours! btw, it was fun watching your video of my home town! Beijing always welcome you!
A little suggestion, The Forbidden City, please arrange a whole day. Because it is so large if you look carefully. Oh, do not miss the 珍宝馆. And The Jingshan park, The Forbidden City, The Tiananmen square and QianMen Street is the middle line of Beijing. If you want, You can walk through the north to south, start with Jingshan park and end with Qianmen Street.

I got one delivered to my hutong in the back streets of Beijing at 1am. Traditional Chinese BBQ meal. They even packaged all the hot foods in insulated bags to prevent them getting cold in the freezing winter.
My favorite area is definitely Behai with the very interesting hutongs. I am looking forward to when the virus is over and I can go back there. Nice video.
You are so busy in travelling China. You should take much time. As a beijinger, I would say you didn't get the point of Beijing. Tough, the movie clip is good. I recommend you can visit with a tour guid.
I’m Chinese American born in Beijing. When my best friend Wendy who’s a white girl visited Beijing with me, the teeney tiny poodle 🐩 comment was exactly what she said as well. 🤣 Wendy said said she lost count at 120 the second morning upon her arrival. 😂 BTW I grew up in Beijing until immigrated to the US at 13. When I was little the forbidden city and summer palace were just parks in my neighborhood. We go there all the time and rarely foreigners were seen. That’s only like 30 years ago. What an amazing world and amazing time.
Hi, I'm from Beijing and it's so great to see this video appearing on my homepage! My dad spent his enter childhood in the centre of Beijing (living in those bungalows in Hutong) and he always take us around the city centre as well as the restaurant you first went to, which is actually famous for their roasted lamb. I miss Summer Palace, it is far from Center of Beijing, but it is very peaceful and beautiful there, during the week days, hardly have any people, you have a huge lake all for yourself, best place to day dream.
