**So Ayano talks about a revolving lantern (soumatou) which is actually a Japanese idiom. These lanterns are double layered with spinning images on them and have come to be associated with the experience before death where your life flashed before your eyes.

Oh hi every body, I’m back!I had to take a break from the channel because of convention and voice acting stuff but when this song came out, I knew there was no way I could sit still anymore. I actually was writing these lyrics while in Atlanta for AWA and got very little sleep because of it. But I was inspired after meeting so many people who told me they grew up listening to my Kagepro covers, it was really amazing. So in the very little spare time I’ve had, I was able to put this together finally! Sorry for the wait!

Quick explanation/analysis of the song for the people not up-to-date with Kagepro
Following Ayano's Theory of happiness Ayano has just found out that her possessed father is planning to sacrifice her and all her friends to revive their dead mother. Vowing to never let this happen she decides to commit suicide and enter the Heat Haze (the upside down classroom) and prevent the final piece needed to complete the plan, The Snake of Favoring Eyes, from manifesting.
This is the beginning of the song, Ayano is falling with her life flashing before her eyes, she knows suicide will only bring her misery. but she is too afraid to pursue her own happiness and sacrifice everyone she cares about. She ponders upon all of her regrets, and how much it pains her to kill her own emotions and deny her own love for Shintaro, but vows to erase this truth, and delete herself from the story.
2:08 Now the second part of the song starts, Ayano is trapped in the Heat Haze sitting alone watching events transpiring in the real world. She realizes she can't go home anymore and starts to question whether she made the wrong decision, her days are filled with emptiness and crying.
Final part of the song, 2:53 the world is reset after the events of Outer Science, and Ayano finds out that she played right into the snake possessing her father's plan. The snake can only exist by possessing people and fulfilling their desires, so if Ayano's mother was to revive it would cease to exist, so he manipulated events so that this couldn't come to pass, forcing him to reset the timeline to try (and fail) again, thus being able to live forever in this repeating time loop.
Finally coming to terms with having failed her original mission and having trapped herself in the Heat Haze, she nonetheless vows to fight on by watching all the gruesome events transpiring and "write this story". Thus were she ever to escape she could tell all that had happened and help her friends breakout of the time loop.
At the end we find out that her unrealized love for Shintaro was what kept her going and sane throughout all the time loops, and that no matter how hard she tried she could never kill her own emotions. She vows to return, save everyone and confess to Shintaro
~Despite the bleakness the final parts of the song are filled with hope and determination. A perfect send off for a series otherwise filled with misery and unrealized hopes and dreams.

For the fun of it and for anyone interested, I decided to calculate approximately how far Ayano fell based on how long it took her to hit the ground in the video.
Short answer: 1589.22 meters.
Long answer: The sky appeared around Ayano at 1:48, and she reached the ground at about 2:06. This means that, assuming that 1:48 shows the moment immediately after she fell off the building, her total time in free fall was 18 seconds. This would also mean that the distance she fell could roughly be calculated using an initial velocity of 0 m/s, although this would most likely not be the exact case based on the way she leaned backwards to fall. Therefore, *without accounting for air resistance* and with down as the positive direction, the calculation is as follows:
d = (vi)(t)+(0.5)(a)(t)^2
d = (0 m/s)(18 s) + (0.5)(9.81 m/s^2)(18 s)^2
d = (0.5)(9.81 m/s^2)(324s^2)
d = (4.905m/s^2)(324s^2)
d = 1589.22 m
This is not an exact value, as I assumed quite a few things (the initial velocity, her location at 1:48, no air resistance, etc), but it is as close as I'm going to get with my current knowledge and motivation. Thank you for reading!

Nice math, if this was earth. But keep in mind she's in some weird alternate dimension that could have different rules and physics than earth; then you'd need to figure those out (which is probably impossible) and plug those numbers into your calculations
I mean, she probably never actually hit the ground, or hit the ground and immediately entered the Heat Haze. We don't really know what her Hear Haze was like - this video is our only representation, and it's not very specific. She could've repeated her moment of death - falling - like Hibiya and Hiyori, or just have been stuck in this classroom of flowers, desks and chairs. Plus, the Haze is often represented with red and black - so when the sky turns red, she probably entered the Haze. Thus, you may have overestimated the period of time she was falling for by several seconds, and so the distance would be off.
Warning: This reply is extremely long. My apologies for its length, and congratulations if you actually manage to read the entire thing. Calculations are at the bottom.
I will concede that I was unaware of these errors in my calculations, and that both of you are correct. The equation may not apply to the Haze at all, and it is very likely that she was in the Haze for the vast majority of her descent.
However, if the haze *is* represented with red and black, then she *was* falling regularly for at least 7 seconds of her descent (1:48-1:55), as the sky is still blue during that frame of time. Therefore, figuring out the properties of the Haze will not be necessary to figure out the distance over that period.
Figuring out the rest of her descent--1:55-2:06--is, in truth, impossible, as there's no plausible way for me to determine the physics of the Haze from this video. To make it even more complicated, her entry into the Haze is gradual; the sky slowly fades from blue to red over a 4 second time period (1:55-1:59). How do the laws of the Haze and "earth" overlap and interact with each other over this period? Again, there is no plausible way to figure it out. The closest I can get to determining the Haze's physics is by using our own equations to--assuming that it exists--calculate the acceleration due to gravity as she descends in terms of our own laws. It is likely inaccurate, but it is the best I can do with the resources at my disposal.
Because this is something I can conceivably manage, I re-calculated the distance and took into account the acceleration due to gravity of the Haze (see below). For those wondering how I determined some of my data, I figured out the time by searching frame-by-frame for consecutive frames where any singular object was depicted touching (or nearly touching) her head and her feet, and then I looked at the time between these frames. There was only one object that fit this criteria: One of the wires shown in the period from 1:58-2:00. It is as exact as I can get with the programs available. Meanwhile, the distance is Ayano's height, which was taken from the following site: kagerouproject.wikia.com/wiki/Ayano_Tateyama#Main
*Disclaimer: I am currently taking AP Physics in high school, and I have not completed Calculus. This means that my knowledge on each subject is limited at best, and that I am unable to calculate everything required to determine the distance. It also means that the results of any of my calculations pictured here should be taken with a grain of salt.*
Assuming that her original dimension depicted from 1:48-1:55 is earth-like, that her acceleration immediately switches to the Haze's acceleration at 1:55 (because I can't figure out the distance traveled with a changing acceleration yet), that there is no air resistance, that the acceleration due to gravity of the Haze can be determined using our own equations, that down is the positive direction, etc.:

d = (0 m/s)(7 s) + (0.5)(9.81 m/s^2)(7 s)^2
d = (0.5)(9.81 m/s^2)(49 s)

Since I did not account for the fact that the acceleration was gradually changing from 9.81 m/s^2 to 484.375 m/s^2 during the interval from 1:55 to 1:59, the total distance is most likely actually less than the distance I have calculated here. I would have calculated that far, but I do not possess the knowledge necessary to do so (and Google did not help). Therefore, the actual total is as follows:

Honestly this has to be one of my favorite songs from Kagepro. I already knew that this was her life flashing before her eyes but if you turn it upside down you realize the pv is somewhat upside down. If you do it this way you notice that Ayano seems to be falling from a high place (the school building) as she crashes head first into a concrete looking structure(probably like an entrance or something leading to the school or just the surrounding area) And even when you look at it this way instead of ascending to the heavens she falls into purgatory (or the heat haze which is close enough) Also this whole entire song just depicts Ayano's thoughts and feelings toward the end. You also hear her describe love which would seem it was toward Shintaro. Overall this is just an awesome song and I'm really glad Juby covered it

Whenever I feel out of place, or sad, or want to return to my days as a child... I always come back to your covers of the KagePro songs. They're honestly the best, and helped me a lot through my childhood. I used to feel so lonely, but whenever you uploaded another song, especially from this series, I always got this surge of happiness. Thank you, Juby, for helping me through those times, and the times I have now where I'd give anything to return to how simple life used to be. These covers will always have a special place in my heart.

So glad you got this out! I found myself pouring over the original video when it came out trying to figure out what was going on and I think I got a good grasp of it being about Ayano's regrets. However, your interpretation definitely clears things up in a way. I'm glad to know content creators are just as excited about new KagePro as I am and I look forward to the new album, the new anime, and your new covers!
