    The need to give up bigger sleeper options 86” or 90” already. We have to live in these damn things. Give us some more space. How about a bigger fridge. Every truck should come with a dinette table so I can sit back and eat with some sense of home and comfort. How about a full closet that I could hang my clothes without dragging on the bottom.

      The manufacturers cater to the biggest customers being the megas me and you may buy 2 or 3 but swift will buy 500 to 1000 a year and since megas don’t want it not a priority

    • @cowboyupnow63

      Just like these new 2022 crapcadias a lot of wasted space where storage can be used. Just like angle space above driver and passenger seat it could be designed better and cabinets spaces are pathetic. Small fridge.no place for a tv, tilt/telescopic steering wheel could be better, maybe a truck driver needs to go to the manufacturer and design how interior should look and function.

    • @wes2253
      @wes2253 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The answer is weight. The more sleeper or gizmos you add, the less weight you can haul, and at the end of the day the mega carriers are who control whats produced, and they are only interested in one thing. $$$$$

    • @fang75429
      @fang75429 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The T680 with a 125" BBC compared to a W900 with a 132" BBC should be a fair bit lighter and won't be longer any all if they went out to a 90" sleeper or similar. I'm surprised they haven't gone above 76" due to various people offering larger such as Western Star having 82", Peterbilt 80", KW 86" on the old platform,

    Great looking truck. I like the digital dash concept and the features it provides. A night mode with red and black would be nice.
    I really wish they would change the table to a slide out instead of the swing out style. Ot is always in my way but still good to have.

    Love the new look. Under the hood looks like a cluster to work on though. Bet to do a top end set up that coolant tank needs removed now. Change a turbo got to remove the washer fluid reservoir. Nice thing is they don't look like they take long to remove but at the current shop rates it adds up. They need to bring out a bigger fridge for the long haulers inside. It's about time we got some new tech inside. It's been in the automotive sector for years so it should be pretty reliable. Great looking truck to pull dry van or reefer with.

    So those LIM switches are actually a speed limit the operator can set. Its pretty useful in moderate traffic when regular cruise can't be used. Just set to 60 and never get a ticket. The blank center switch is used to adjust the ACC following distance and PCC over/undershoot.

    Greetings from the Ohio Porters. 🇺🇸 The overall looks of this rig are cool, more aerodynamic. That’s good. I like the skirting. For years now, the manufacturers have said that full skirting all the way back would give better fuel mileage, and now you say that half of the skirting will give you better mileage. That’s confusing. I like being able to get into the gap behind the cab. Certain trailers require that you get in there to connect/disconnect. I gotta see one of these up close, so I guess it’s time to contact the local Columbus Kenworth dealership. Good stuff.🤩😎✌️

    For access to the catwalk and air lines I'd like to see them add steps on both sides instead of just the driver side. Just a convenience option. Also, when I close my front curtains I find that the track doesn't allow the curtain to move as easily as I'd like it to. Sometimes I have to fight with it to get it to slide. Okay I am going to give my best opinion on this new look and features that I don't like and the new KW. I don't like the automatic shifter on the steering wheel column since the first time KW made the change. The only thing in the sleeper is the step that was above the lower drawer and bottom of the refrigerator was removed from the last few years models and it made it easier to get up to the upper bunk for my 12 yr old grandson in climbing up with out having to step on the lower bunk mattress. I don't know if on the outside of the tractor on the driver's side sleeper window and door are still available like on the passenger side of the model you were showing. The new digital dash panel is not what I prefer but not a deal breaker. I prefer the Gauge look that you are able to trim in chrome to make for a better feature of showing the dashboard off. I am not a fan of always changing the features every few years. I am going to stick with my 2016 model for a while and see if anything KENWORTH has to offer in the future. Not a big fan of the new designs in the last few years and will not be buying a new truck with this type design.

    Paccar power - no thank you. I had all kinds of problems with the 13 litre engine in three different Peterbilts (in two years), it's why I finally left that carrier. I couldn't make any money because the truck I was assigned was always in the shop.
    The Cummins engine has a much better reputation.
    I am not fond of these new digital dashes either. One fuse pops or connection comes loose and your entire gauge cluster is gone, which means you don't know your speed, or air pressures, or coolant temps, etc etc.. I don't even want to think about what that dash would cost to replace (never mind the downtime). I prefer to have an analog speedometer, tachometer and air pressure gauges - the rest can be digital.
    The sleeper looks decently equipped (but every driver puts different stuff in it). I'd probably drive one if I was a company driver, but I don't think I'd buy one.

    For being so new the interior could have been changed so much better. I like the color choices but if you're gunna make a new truck then do it all.... I drive CT 680 I do like it but for the next gen they could have done so much better. I'm actually kind of disappointed. But I'll still take it over Volvo or Cascadia junk. These are way better. And that's coming from someone who has experience in all 3. So far favorite truck is a good 379 with a cat 6nz. W 900l are also a favorite. But I gotta say 379 tops it.
    Anyway I definitely would drive this just a more loaded truck. But I want Kenworth to wake up a little in the interior area. It needs to be redone to match the out side changes.

    Why is no one talking about the headlights? Lol. That is one of my biggest cons on the previous gen T680s. I drive LTL so we get a different truck every run, we don't get assigned trucks long term. So whatever the truck comes with from the factory is what we get. That includes the crappy halogen projector headlight design that these come with. They do a terrible job of of putting light on the roadway and get worse with age due to the projector surface developing a haze on the lens. I understand that O/O's and guys that keep a unit long term can simply swap LED bulbs or change out the housing completely, but we don't have that option. Really wish KW would follow in Freightliner and Macks steps and put better LED headlights in these trucks standard on all trims.

      Agreed. The only thing I hated about my T680 was the headlights. I avoided driving at night because they were so bad.

    Cleaning the windshield was already a little annoying but those winglet things make it worse because they don't fold away. I'd probably still get them but still. I think those vents on the hood help air escape from under the hood. Helps with cooling. I'm pretty biased against the T680 because I own a '15 model but this one is... okay.

    • @craigjackson828
      @craigjackson828 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesaddie4895 then what is the purpose of having them?
      At certain speeds without them, washer fluid covers the passenger (left side drive) and mirrors.
      If the wind is wrong, driver side window, not so much the mirrors.
      Easy enough to lower the windows for visibility if you have power window for the passenger side and the mirrors aren't filthy from washer fluid.
      Sometimes there is no place to stop and clean them for a long way.
      Went through a swarm of bugs many times where washer fluid, even with Dawn added, wasn't enough and had to pull off to clean the windshield.
