I just hope the skeleton crew you get will be strong enough for a solo pirate to feasibly take on a galleon with sheer manpower.
i mean that just sounds op asf lol you should not be able to fuck up every ship you come across just because of your skeletons not missing a shot. I hope it is balanced to make them decently strong if you are solo but not enough take on any galleon you come across with sheer manpower tbh

tbh they shoud take the adventures we already had and adapt them into tall tales to fill the gap for the players that missed out that chunk of the story
Yes, because I had better things to do than play sea of theives I missed so many important story, and i love the story, it's sad.
Most of the story is gone though. All year 1 content except forsaken shores and even most of that is missing, plus reapers hideout and many other lore characters that have changed over time. The only thing that would fix this is a dedicated story mode in safer seas, but the devs don’t want to do this for some reason.
I think it would be awesome and would allow them freedom with the storytelling like never before. Explain the adventure world instead of constantly making the decision to have something stay in the world and be stagnant like TT locations and NPCs or make the story time limited and allow change and deleting all their hard work mere weeks later.

@freddungleham Sloop crews will have a very large A.I. skeleton crew to help them whereas galleon crews will have less help from the skeletons (at least I think the crew will be skeletons)

A lot of us took a break 😅 that’s probably what’s motivating them to keep churning out content….. you can only have so much fun until sweat lord pvpers just start turning you off

You know... with the Burning Blade being the first Man O'War, I can't imagine the Pirate Lord sitting idle while this happens. Maybe the good guy counterpart... the Athena's Fortune? Same mechanics, but spectral instead of skeleton?

@@TaxmicRug45879 to be fair, I thought the same thing about the sails when I saw them didn't even see the words on the screen and didn't even care about them I mean, look at the sneak peek with all the cool stuff you can't complain even if you wanted to(yes I know you COULD )
If anything i learned from work in progress statements and actual releases these days is that is very little to no changes, so i support the community concerns
With all the cannons, being fire proof AND the obsidian skulls / burning blade cutlass, im concerned about how unlikely it is that anyone will actually be able to sink the current crew of the ship.

Maybe an alliance will work to overthrow it? Then you deal with those crews betraying each other for control of the ship, but that is the pirates life😂

I think the coolest thing they are starting to lean into a bit more, is loot with function. We have the Mermaid Staffs, Ashen Wind Skulls, Skull of Siren song, even things like Firework Crates and Collector Chests. The Burning Blade Cutlass, and the Horn of Fair Winds are the continuation of this idea, and I hope it explodes this idea even further. I was upset thinking about the Grapped Gun being added, making bording easy for anyone, but then I realised, if you had to earn that gun per each session, that would balance it out a bit more. There is so much potential for this game
Well also if they made it to where it took a weapon slot you would have to choose.

*MAN O' WAR?* Naaaaaaah, Falcore. I refuse to give this exalted title to any ship that has not at least 10 cannons pointing at each side, from which at least 5 are used by AI crew the entire time and the rest is for the player to use. 😈

Absolutely love it, I was just saying last year that the game needed a big "raid" ship that you could take control of and defend for loot. I thought maybe it would be the evil trading company but this is a cool implementation of it too.
I predicted this happening a few years ago. About when the mermaid shrines were just added. I told my friends that they should add something like Davy Jones' ship sailing around and players can take control of it and become the world event. And your ship will sink. At the end your crew gets the loot if you don't sink. What I said was shown in the video. I started playing Sea of Thieves since launch and still love the game. I want to play it a lot more then I do now (I rarely play it now) but I don't have a constant crew that I can play with for like 5-10 hours straight on a weekend or day off.. I love Sea of Thieves and am glad to see this game come this far... I don't make content, but I've seen funny moments, done janky things, seen glitches and even met the devs of the game once. I hope this game keeps doing so well and even becomes even better...

Well, not to come off ungrateful. Buuuuuut I think most people would just like to spawn in a man o war and have a bigger crew to play with. Step in the right direction but just give us the ship type so we can enjoy it all the time and have more players in our crew.

@@Alak-Hul_Darkbladeexactly what I was thinking, not only would the servers struggle to handle that many players on a boat, but imagine getting boarded by like 5-6 people, doesn’t sound safe or fun for the game
@@ZedsMagikIf other games like rust can have smaller maps with hundreds of players, SoT can have more than 24 players in one lobby. if the servers can’t keep up, get better damn servers.
You could make it where only man-o-wars are allowed on that instance, so 4 of them go around slugging it out with each other
Nah it makes it harder to get and not just everyone roaming with it. Game would be more boring if it was actually like that
I really hope this world event is also available in safer seas mainly just so i can solo sloop with an NPC crew and take my time leisurely sailing around.

The "Man O' War" isn't a ship. It's a term, a concept used to describe a sailing ship with cannons. You could say every ship in Sea of Thieves is a "Man O' war".

Definitely exciting! I do wonder about some of the mechanics though. For instance, what happens to your captained ship once you pledge to be the crew of the BB? Does it scuttle until you "turn in" the BB? Can more than one crew (maybe in an alliance) choose to serve on the BB together? Do the two extra cannons (the ones on the poop deck) have more down angle to make them valuable? Is there a brand new special BB shanty we can play when we're on board, because I'm always wanting more shanties. Great stuff, great video, keep 'em coming!

I was looking for a sunken ship for a tall tale as a solo schooner when this ship sailed up to me. I swear it stopped and looked at me for like 3 mins, then turned around and sailed away...XD I guess he showed me pity mercy
Good luck as a solo/duo managing the sails and stearing that ship.
Also, is the new puzzles going to be locked to the crew of the Burning Blade because if so i'd say GG small crews.
It will be fun to defeat the ship while it's crew are trying to get tribute. Beat it, sink it, and scamper off with the sword before the get back from the vault. It will also be funny to see how much it gets left to rot while people work on whatever the flavor of the day event is.
Now we need the black pearl and the flying Dutchman version of this

I've been going around sea of theives telling people I ally with that this would be such a great idea ever since the gally came out (from the ship being a man of war with 10 cannons to having an air crew) feel like they listening or I said it to a partner of theirs

With the Man-O-War being a thing in the form of the Burning Blade, I honestly hope we can get an Athena version to counter it someday. Maybe the shipwreck in the Athena's Fortune hideout can be modified into a Man-O-War version of the Athena's Fortune ship that the trading company and hideout are both named after. Cause Ramsey and the rest of the Sea of Thieves cast against Flameheart are gonna need something just as big to stop him now.

There is a ships Hull being built in the dry dock now. I don't know when it showed up, but I know it wasn't there before the monkey island expansion.
Imagine you could take a "quest" to defeat the burning blade where you have to find some Mcguffin with wich you can summon the flying dutchman and take over the ship. that would be epic
did you notice theres a prop missing above the athenas fortune... a hole in the roof which doesnt belong there. maybe its not new im coming back to sot after a long time but i think as i played the last time there wasnt a weird looking hole in the roof of the athenas hideout.

Where'd you get those Flameheart voice lines from? I was hoping to put together a soundboard in preparation of Season 13 but I can only find a small chunk of his lines on youtube that are clean (minimal background noise)
