Well you made that look easy! I’ve been sitting on a NH six point skull cap for five years. Guess I’ll head down to the workshop and give it a go! Thanks for sharing.
I've been doing my own European mounts for years. I've never done one like this. Years ago I left the skin on the skull cap and put it in a container covered with salt until dry then mounted it to a plaque with the hair on. Great simple details in this video Rodney!! May have to try it out!! Thanks 👍
Hey Rodney, you made one of these for me years ago that i won in one of your drawings at the sportsman's show quite a few years ago. Came out great thanks again and love your videos! 😊
Looooove that double spike fork horn. That was super neat, id rather get a buck like that than a normal 8 or something. But thats not even a legal buck where im from. I really like the goofy racks.
th-cam.com/video/7f9LSIXdaxg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=v3rxx9mZTfZncf0s Once the antler have been removed from the head. Remove all muscle and as much tissue as you can. Let the rack dry for 60 days or more. Then clean any remaining layers over the bone and and you’re ready to go. 👍 the video about will demonstrate.

Great instructional video! Now I’ll be ready for by next buck … I’m currently on a twenty year dry streak. 😂
Would a damp foam brush work for smoothing the plaster out?
Yep probably or latex gloves!
Do you boil the skull cap or how do you prepare that before mounting?
