"When I look to my Atlas and my Highlander I remember a time when humanity all it's realms flew one flag, perhaps in the coming years we will see that dream made real" - Sg. Alexander von Carstein Zarovich, North Wind Highlanders 7th company 12 Battalion

I like the fact that the whole galaxy is only humans and that leads to even more wars and terrible death rates into the millions

    Who downvoted!? A-hole.
I'm still watching, but I'm very much happy that when you explain the Battletech fictitious you show an image of the REAL Kerensky.

You're probably gonna wait a while, since I can only do one BT video a week for now :)

Good idea to go back to the Star league. "One species over realm!" Never at rest, the SLDF flexed allot of muscle to get the house to behave more than once. Such house looks like it might take a poke at another who shows up in the middle? Yep you got it, "he were tare with the Star league and we are here to help." They did keep the peace in a relative manner. They developed amazing tech, not all of which they shared with member stated, most was in house with total guard units with only some exports but little licensing to the houses, in it's collapse allot of that was destroyed or squirreled away by forces as if yet not discussed lol. That's why there inersphere lost tech so fast.
Public works and construction on an epic scale occurred everywhere that went even into the periphery no matter how remote. The very first book written about battletech, decision at thunder rift, even mentioned projects underway and future plans on a tiny world in the middle of nowhere that sure dead when the coup started. General Kerensky was smart, and a shewed man, a warrior in all sense he didn't like politics. Even after the SLDF had been ordered out of Arimis' realm and had it fact been ordered out of the core worlds to keep them from being able to help till he had established power, he followed half the orders by making a tour of the periphery and was "following" the second half by way of inspecting in force the badly stalled "withdraw" of Arimis' realm. Being so far out it would take months for hpg to get to Earth and Arimis had no idea kerensky and his troops were there at the time when he played his hand. No one really liked the rat so it was easy for kerensky to mount up in his Orion and plant a big metal foot in his rectum after riding through the member states bringing in the house units to his cause. The Star league also put on the martial Olympic games and the gunslinger program. The Olympics gave the houses something to enjoy and something to keep their national pride as well as an outlet to settle scorers now and then. Think of it like a Solaris style work up, everyone got to test their skills and new ideas and machines got a less than lethal dry run. The gunslingers were a free order of warriors possessing a letter of marq outside of house and Star league norms and could come from any member state. They had special rules in place guiding their behavior and how they were to be treated and they were among the greatest jocks ever trained. They could duel in proxy of others or on place if states to settle dispute, head hunt in battle or be sent like a Texas range to a hot spot to investigate and quiet an area down. They were a mix of lone Knight, loan ranger, gun for hire, frontier martial, bounty Hunter for the advocate general and traveling Justine of the peace. They were Star league through and through though and when called up were skilled Lance members and could be found even in the royal units if not always fully trusted by lance mates because their mechs marked them out and they might be called out to duel, or they might call out some officer it noble on the other side to duel leaving a Lance a mech short as this was part of their letter and they couldn't break it without forfiture of their status.
All in all I'm so glad to see you hit the back story of BT this is why every house fights. You did a bang up job again brother. Aren't you glad the chain of succession is so short!? Another great job

Ok.. I'll have to look again later, it's late, and I'm tired. Your reply is very dense. Mine usually are too. I think though, it's worth scrutiny.
So, give me some time to ruminate, I think if you're capable of self reflection, we may share a love of intellectual self improvement.

decent overview but covering the fall of the Star League would probably merit a video in its own right. There's a lot going on, after all.

I kinda just wanted to give people an idea of what the Star League was and how it was governed. I realize there can be many videos made about it, and I'll hopefully get to cover that at some point.
