Hyo is one of the hidden gem in Kpop industry. She's a singer, a dancer, a DJ, Reality Show star. She's one of the kind.
What makes me sad is that Minzy doesn't get the chances or the love in Korea - and she's probably the closest to Hyo from the 2nd gen
@@jamesrawlins735 idk too, i think its because of their agencies. Maybe but Knetz are controlling everything. Once you underrated... You'll be suffered. Minzy is the YG's best dancer but she never get her spot simply because YG didn't give lots of attention to her. Unlike Hyo, she participated in so many reality shows and competition (like Dancing with the Star etc.) Imagine how hard is minzy's situation.

It sucks that she's a "hidden gem", especially since is/was a member of the nation's girl group. Hyoyeon has been around for what? 13 years now? She's part of one the main agencies in Korea and has proved to be a well rounded artist, and she's still a "hidden gem". That's really unfair :( !

Never thought we’d see the day when the main dancer and main rapper of the nation’s girl group, miss Hyo herself, would grace us with her presence on this channel. I’m really glad that this is her most successful solo release at the moment since it’s that good. For whatever reason, it took me two listens to like it? Don’t know what that was about. She served us a musically complex dance song and I’m here for that.
I agree with you. I'm a huge Hyo fan but I haven't always been that excited about her solo releases (not her talent but just not great songs) - but this one is a banger, although it's not really my style - and Loopy is one of my favorite rappers (he was great on SMTM 7 - I actually liked him better than Nafla, who won.)

Always appreciate the honesty and the approach - reactors are upfront when a song doesn't work for them, doesn't resonate, etc. and offer up some insight as to why, but it's never *negative*. It's never something that demeans the idols or fans of the song and that means a lot.

Fun Fact: at multiple occasions in the song you can hear HYO say "Marie Antoinette" in reference to the famous Queen of France that said "let them eat cake" when she was told her people was starving...hence the song title ;)

Hyoyeon is one of the hardest workers I know and she definitely deserves more recognition than she currently receives. All her solo releases are bangers
Dessert, for me, is a song that is perfect for any DJ shows, night clubs, parties, etc, but you rarely listen to it everyday.
Also I really glad that reactors did mention her singing voice, her vocal was really hidden back in her days in SNSD.
(which I understand the reason behind, it's difficult to find a song that suit all 9 girls.)

Also Soyeon is practically under CUBE and SM both bc she’s signed with CUBE but she’s done so many projects with SM artists and Soyeon initially auditioned for SM before CUBE but got rejected and now look at her The Leader, Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, vocalist, Producer, Composer,Writer stage presence queen, queen of licking things, doing projects with SM like SM lost a good one

I'm really glad Hyo is getting to show off her unique voice. One of the musicians commented that her singing voice is similar to her speaking voice, it's so cool but it never really fit that well into most of Girls' Generation's songs so she never got many solo lines

OMG Thank you for reacting to DESSERT! alot of Kpop stans keep labeling such music of DJ HYO and other few artists as "noise music" and it's really upsetting sometimes knowing how much work they put in these songs to sound so unique and fresh and most importantly different from the rest and the usual! Ahahahahahahaha tuning in the ReacttheK after a couple of months and really enjoying the new mix of people! Great chemistry in many of the paired reactions. Queen vibes is real. I think what most of them said is true for me as well...the trance-like music made it easy to feel like you are sucked and lost (I mean it in a neutral way) in repetitive revisitation of the same theme, but also I realised I didn't give enough attention to the change/switch-up in instrumentation. Especially the dance break - hearing it again with commentary...I completely agree, it's so odd! I already love imagining hearing the song in a bigger space (dance floor) instead of through earphones in my quarantine life at home, but now I have a new appreciation for the strange squeaky/shiny noises there. Also don't think I ever noticed how the speaking voice in music could merit a deeper appreciation for melodic aspects. Thank you once again, ReacttotheK team!
