Well done! Nowhere else have I seen a clearer, more detailed explanation of these two different shooting styles. The demonstration of using string blur was particularly good.
This is actually really helpful. Every year in grade school we would have a few days in P.E. class dedicated to archery, and now that I'm an adult I have my own compound bow just for fun. Yet, I've never competed in archery nor have I had a coach, so anchor points and correct form or stance is all new to me. Beforehand I'd use no anchor at all and would just wing it, got pretty good results considering!
There are some trad shooters that never used the string blur because they don't see it. They just drop their torso down and they cant the bow so their eye is vertically exactly above their shaft. And they take care the left or right looking down all across the shaft towards the target.
@@Archerguy1128 ¨they say you should bend at the waist to aim up and down since move your bow arm up and down changes the draw length and muscle tension. yes i dont see much of this on the shooting line . so you can change elevation by leaning back and fort say 40 45 degrees will increase your range by 10 meter so there should be no need for string climbing , crawl etc
@@Archerguy1128 not only. unless your shooting 3d or field the the target and distance is set so there is no need for another anchor point or a string crawl , unless the pivot they teach is useless
@@mortenjacobsen5673 point of stringwalking is so you can aim with the tip of the arrow, and by changing the angle of the arrow you can aim with the arrow at different distances. Niw at long distances you might run out of string, thus you would lower your anchor (facewalking). For barebow stringwalking is seen as the more consistent technique for aiming compared to facewalking and gap shooting. You would only pivot around your waist if your aiming point is above or below where you're aiming; this is to maintain a proper T and shoulder alignment.
Trad all day! Nice video! Nothing like extra self development through doing, over more dollars spent. I guess a rich person could bait a deer to a nice clear flat spot to be shot by a heavily counter weighted bowyer with the finest gold accented salt licks in all the land. Lol just kidding, very cool vid!

I used Olympic anchor point with traditional bow, I use recurve & Longbow/War Bow I only look at the target. Aim small miss small.
why mess around with different anchors when you can pivot to adjust elevation ? or does no one pivot despite it being thought ?
Can you expand on the pivot you're talking about?

Morten Jacobsen do you mean this only for barebow?
