Jiaoqiu really know a lot of people haha. And his interaction with Sushang is cute. Him being her mom's friend, decided to be a good uncle who always spoiled her and helped her skipped classes, are a nice background story. I love him more. Please let me win my 50/50. I beg you Jiaoqiu!!!

@@18shailesh_ I mean there has been reasons to why characters are part of a certain path, Sparkle technically is a “supporting cast” in Penacony helping Firefly not like brain dead, as for Jing, I feel it’s more of the lightning lord at that point, plus Erudition is none to be more “tactical” and smart given by Nous, as for Ruan Mei, she’s just straight up harmony maybe due to her wanting to be an emanator / aeon, meaning lots of things to look forward to after being Ruan Mei getting namedropped in the story

Nah, he's just a family friend via being her mom's neighbor. Uncle in Chinese can be used in the familial sense or as just as a way of addressing an older male your parents' age (like oji-san in Japanese; or similar to how oppa, noona, and hyung in Korean means "older brother" or "older sister" but they're just friends who are older than you).
Kinda reminds me of Filipino culture. I'm half blood Filipina. In our culture we call close family friends uncle, brother, aunt, sister etc. On a side note I think it would be interesting if Jaioqiu was the doctor who delivered Sushang. It's possible because her mom is a Cloud Knight .
Then again it's common in Asian countries to address non relatives as uncle/auntie, sister/brother instead of the usual ms/mr/mrs I call my elder neighbours uncle and my seniors big sister/brother
