I first heard, with my mother this concerto performed by Salzburg refugee musicians with Egon Petri as soloist, in 1940, on an estate in New Jersey, outdoors, the moon on a summer night moving through the clouds. This performance with Perahia and Abbado, heard in my 92nd year, recreates that evening for me.
This is one of the most beautiful TH-cam comments I read in a long time. I have strong memories with this piece, too, as I heard this with my mother on our way to our annual camping holidays on the french atlantic coast, about 25 years ago.
If you are looking for a musical / pianistic approach that is a model to be emulated - look no further than Murray Perahia. He is the embodiment of a healthy musicality that suffers no affectation or self-consciousness. Pure music to my ears!
This is the central music for Perahia's gift and temperament. There is nothing that suits him more perfectly, and no performer who better serves this music.

Must be hard to find on TH-cam ?, or just too "old" with less than 600 likes when I viewed it. One of the better performances with truly great conductor and pianist, not to mention the entire orchestra.
Thanks You t.for bringing this magnificent concert.A8AM ❤.

Very interesting. Never heard about that, Mr Price.
Incredible talent
You are a genius, if i can believe your words 😄
A true poet of the keyboard. In the second movement, time stands still. Thank you for posting.

Hes the best pianist ever!
@@mhuten From Bach through The Classical era to the late Romantic period he owns this domain in his own right. He has no equal.
@@TheGreatPerahia right on

What a band! And the keyboard player is outstanding!
Harry the Potter plays cello here! Indeed, magic performance by the orchestra!
For me the greatest pianist of the world.
Few can beat Murray's Goldberg Variations😍
#20 & #23. The pinnacle of the Sublime.
All of Mozart promotes spiritual uplift and awakening, and activates the soul,
This is absolutely true!

Bravissimo!
Incredible talent
With Harry Potter on the Cello.
Jokes aside, wonderful performance (:
I've never heard a pianist yet whose slow movement ornamentation improved on Mozart's original.
