As a hospice nurse I can tell you that sometimes when family visits from far away the hospice patient will choose that time to die so they can die with a loved one nearby. It’s a sign of trust and love.

My dad passed unexpectedly July 2015....in my experience people do hang on if they're waiting on a loved one to get there....also the opposite can happen. If they don't want for example their spouse to go through watching them pass they will pass away when that loved one steps out for a meal, or a quick trip home, etc. People do pass on their own terms often when passing from terminal illness.

My girl is in europe for 2 weeks. I too feel your pain Ethan...the power went out for 10 minutes and I thought a emp hit and the only thing I know how to cook is hashbrowns ... Which makes me wonder how my quality of life was before I met her like did I just eat hashbrowns for lunch breakfast and dinner and how come I cant find any of my socks is their a homeless man in my house stealing them to build a nest to sleep in in the adic?
I was doing okay until the kid backed up against the front door. As somebody who's been physically and mentally abused in a somewhat similar way, I can only see that as a defense mechanism: backing toward the nearest accessible exit in case you have to hit the streets. I still have nightmares from the shit I went through as a kid, and a lot of it involves jumping out a window or over the backyard fence trying to escape. IDK how Cody's going to end up, but I hope he's able to make friends who will listen and look out for him.
I had the hardest time with him saying ‘what did I do NOW?’ Because it’s always something he either doesn’t understand or doesn’t realize is an abuse ‘worthy’ mistake on his part.

I am so sorry to hear about Hila's father. My heart hurts for all of you during this difficult time. I lost my sister when I was 17 and my mother when I was 24, and I hit an all-time low after that. Then one day, about two years ago, I just happened to come across the H3 page and immediately I was hooked. You two made me laugh and feel ok again, and it honestly changed me for the better. I am so thankful for you two, as well as the H3 community. You will be in my prayers. Love you guys

It's never easy to go through the loss of a loved one, just in 2012, I lost my grandfather and I it took me years to get over his death, but stuff like this takes time... It doesn’t take away your pain but when my dad passed away a few years ago it helped me to think that he at least isn’t in pain anymore.
I lost my mom last Thursday after a six-year-long battle with metastatic breast cancer; it hit everyone in the family real hard. Although we're obviously grieving over her departure and feel an emptiness in our family, very similar to you and Hila, this is a part of the mourning process. Know that Hila's father's memory and essence will most definitely live on and that you WILL heal. My most sincere condolences to you, Hila, and her family and loved ones.

What helped me get through my cousin’s passing was the comfort of knowing that she was no longer in pain. Although he is no longer with you, at least you know there is no more suffering. My biggest condolences to you guys&family. That picture in the wheelchair reminds me so much of my dad who died of lung cancer (spread to his brain aswell, started loosing it, then passed). What a beautiful song "crying". We are pregnant with our first child, it breaks my heart that dad didnt have time to get to see his grand daugther. Would love to say it gets easier in time, but its really not easy at all, especially not for the bigger moments in life where you wish most of all they could have been there. What has helped me to let go is to embrace the grief/not push it away. I promise you, Hila and co, life really does go on, the pain transforms. That was an amazing way to remember Hila's dad. It really made me think about people I know who I think didn't like me and wonder if they just didn't know how to show it. My parents had six kids. Never did my mom nor my dad treat us that badly. And we were poor, poor as in sometimes ate black eyed peas and cornbread for dinner. Edit: To explain, I didn't mean that poverty led to abuse, I meant that my parents were under immense stress (from having 6 kids and finances, etc.) and never behaved like Daddy of five or his wife. bagel's bum my family was the exact same! my parents still managed to love us unconditionally and made sure we felt comfortable. at one point in time we moved into this tiny basement apartment and it wasn’t until years later that i found out our landlords weren’t actually landlords and they were letting us stay in their basement illegally and for free because we were homeless. my parents literally risked everything to make sure my siblings and i always felt like we were financially stable. living in poverty is no excuse to abuse your child.
I grew up for a few years of my life with a father whom had millions. He beat us mercilessly. He left and took all of the money. I live in a trailer with my 4 other siblings and have for a good part of my life. My mother has never laid a hand on me or my sibling. Poverty is nothing to beat your kids over
The cable they used for the audio got partially unplugged and flipped the phase of one side which basically plays two exactly opposite signals at the same time so it sums to nothing when played through the same speaker, but is perfectly audible as two separate signals whenever the left and right are through separate outputs although it sounds a little unnatural. That's just for anybody wondering why you can only hear it on headphones.

It's never easy to go through the loss of a loved one, just in 2012, I lost my grandfather and I it took me years to get over his death, but stuff like this takes time... I lost my mom last Thursday after a six-year-long battle with metastatic breast cancer; it hit everyone in the family real hard. Although we're obviously grieving over her departure and feel an emptiness in our family, very similar to you and Hila, this is a part of the mourning process. Know that Hila's father's memory and essence will most definitely live on and that you WILL heal. My most sincere condolences to you, Hila, and her family and loved ones.
I wish you two all the best. Losing a parent or someone equally close never gets easier, but you learn to live with the pain and they become a part of you. You guys have helped get me through some hard times in my life, and (although I realize y'all won't see this) I want you both to know that you are important a lot of people out there.

I am so sorry for your loss... it’s never easy saying goodbye to a loved one especially with cancer since there are so many ups and downs until one day they pass. What helped me get through my cousin’s passing was the comfort of knowing that she was no longer in pain. Although he is no longer with you, at least you know there is no more suffering. My biggest condolences to you guys&family. That picture in the wheelchair reminds me so much of my dad who died of lung cancer (spread to his brain aswell, started loosing it, then passed). What a beautiful song "crying". We are pregnant with our first child, it breaks my heart that dad didnt have time to get to see his grand daugther. Would love to say it gets easier in time, but its really not easy at all, especially not for the bigger moments in life where you wish most of all they could have been there. What has helped me to let go is to embrace the grief/not push it away. I promise you, Hila and co, life really does go on, the pain transforms. Dad passed, now 2 summers later we got the greatest gift of all due this christmas. Much love from Norway

My parents had six kids. Never did my mom nor my dad treat us that badly. And we were poor, poor as in sometimes ate black eyed peas and cornbread for dinner.
Edit: To explain, I didn't mean that poverty led to abuse, I meant that my parents were under immense stress (from having 6 kids and finances, etc.) and never behaved like Daddy of five or his wife. I was saying that there is no reason to treat their children so horribly.

bagel's bum my family was the exact same! my parents still managed to love us unconditionally and made sure we felt comfortable. at one point in time we moved into this tiny basement apartment and it wasn’t until years later that i found out our landlords weren’t actually landlords and they were letting us stay in their basement illegally and for free because we were homeless. my parents literally risked everything to make sure my siblings and i always felt like we were financially stable. living in poverty is no excuse to abuse your child.

The cable they used for the audio got partially unplugged and flipped the phase of one side which basically plays two exactly opposite signals at the same time so it sums to nothing when played through the same speaker, but is perfectly audible as two separate signals whenever the left and right are through separate outputs although it sounds a little unnatural. That's just for anybody wondering why you can only hear it on headphones.

I suddenly lost my grandma in April, I understand the feeling of shock even though you kinda knew it was coming. My condolences. It's lovely that she has one last photo with him. I wish I had take more photos with my grandma.. Everyone, love your parents and grandparents while you have them. And take photos of them and with them. They will be priceless someday.
