Hi John. This year I am sitting the Selective Exam and I'm unsure if I have the time to do the extra-curricular activities. How do you think I can make it work in my routine?
In that case, If @risiwayne is studying at the moment and doesn't have time to do extra curricular for the May exam, he can surely stop for a month and start it up after the exam. A month is not a long time at all.
John can you reply to my question on your other video? Hey @Bings academy I am doing the selective placement test this year and I did the 2021 .2022,2023 tests I got these scores 2021 test Maths 34/35 Reading 24/30 Thinking Skills 36/40 2022 test Maths 33/35 Reading 26/30 Thinking skills 35/40 2023 test Maths 34/35 Reading 28/30 Thinking Skills 40/40 Will I be able to get into a good selective highschool with these marks? Any highschool above Sydney Secondary would be good. Thanks
they do sounds like good raw scores but again it depends on what the others did in their exams and your writing. Should be good enough for a fully selective school i imagine.
Hello John. I am doing the selective test on May 9th this year. Right now my writing is bad, I already do tutoring but what tips could you give me to improve my writing?
@@vg4715 you might need to work on idea generation and get more practice for writing in timed settings. It is a skill you can work on with a tutor but I am worried since there is only 7 days to the test
Hi John, This year I am sitting the selective exam, and i'm aiming to get in Sydney boys, Hurlstone and Sydney tech. I did the 2021,2022 and 2023 tests. For the 2021 test in Maths I got 33/35, Thinking Skills: 34/40, Reading 22/30 In the 2022 test in Maths I got 32/35, Thinking Skills 32/40 Reading 21/30 For the 2023 in Maths i got 32/34, Thinking Skills 32/40, and for reading parts of the test wasn't accessible due to copyright issues or something. I filled out the form for the ASAT this year, but couldn't attend it, because I was sick. Usually in writing at my tutoring centre at Pre uni new college, I get around 19-22 out of 25. On average, I get top 10% in Maths, Top 25% in Thinking Skills, Top 25% in Reading and Top 15% in Writing. Will I be able to get in the schools i want or should I change my options? Thanks.
It looks to be quite decent! The ASAT is the more accurate measure though as they had over 3000 students who did the exam. Never the same when you do it at home or just in a centre at Pre uni. I would personally spend more time on thinking skills as it is weighted 35% over other subjects. Keep it up and goodluck

in what ways is it bad? Are you not writing enough or do you not understand the question text type?
@@BingsAcademy I understand the question but I don't know what to write or how to plan it out
