"Time waits for no one" But at the very least, they were able to choose each other's time. That hourglass scene from episode 9 really had me in tears when he gave half of his remaining lifespan to his wife so that they could die together instead of one of them having to live on without the other.
I haven't watched the series yet... I feel like i might cry ... If there's no past life montage with sine incredible bgm i might be able to endure it~ But those other two kids are also going to be the next huh~
Well, this just made the list for the saddest anime moments. I’m not even joking, this anime did an outstanding job at making me care a lot about these two.
Why? Everyone has to die at some point. It's very rare that you see a pair get to live a fulfilled life with one another and then die together. It is sad that they both pass on but I can't think of a better way for them to go than with each other.
Really can't imagine how Mino and the other family members reacted to their passing :( I'm glad they didn't show it because that will break my heart in a thousand pieces
Exactly what I was thinking. Of they passed while resting under the tree, its heartbreaking to think that Mino would be the one to break the news to everyone. Still, great anime overall.
Definitely sad, but also, rather happy. Most couples don't get to naturally pass on together with their partner. Shouzo and Ine lived their best lives, and Ine especially lived such a hard life, but found all the happiness she could ever want with Shouzo. And it seems Shouta and Mino gained the same happiness in their long life.
This is one of the saddest moment when their journey have finally come to an end. God gave them a second chance after all and it was a really heartwarming scene for this two lovers. They even thank to everyone around them that touches the most. But the most saddest part because the two are finally rest in peace. Goodbye Jii-san and Baa-san 😢😢😢❤❤❤

Here's what I can see as both Mino and Shouta check on the former's grandparents: Mino and Shouta check on Shouzo and Ine, only to find them not moving. Mino: Jii-san, Baa-san... are you... alright? Shouta check for a pulse, which startled him as he could find none. Shouta: Mino...I-I'm sorry... Mino fell to her knees at the shocking news, with tears welling up in her eyes. Mino: (sobbing) Jii-san...Baa-san...
Mino and Shouta married, hehe 🥳... I wonder if Shiori end up with her senior or not ( lol I forgot that guy name ) 🥹 btw where can I watch this latest episode?? 😭
It could be worse. Mino thought that they are just sleeping so she leave them there thinking that they will wake up to join them later. Then dinner come and they didn't come back. All member of the family search for them until they return to that tree to discover a horrible truth.....
They lived their lives to their fullest and died happily together without any regrets. This is without a doubt a great ending. They accepted death because they knew even by turning young their mind and soul remained as their current age. They're very lucky that they even had the golden apple to start their new journey.
They immediately know what to do after finding the golden apple lol Now it's their turn to experience being young again like Grandpa dan Grandma back then 🔥
@@suiken3149Well its a bit like attack on titan, the story repeats. Lol Just rewatch the anime at this point because they also had found the Golden Apple. We could say they are doing the almost same thingy just like inee and Shozo did
Reminds me of the arc in gintama that told the love story between a retainer of the shogun and the oiran of yoshiwara that spaned fifty years. Lot of shit went down. And the two reunited after nearly fifty years. And the Oiran, once known as the most beautiful woman in all of Yoshiwara. Passed away in the arms of the man she loved under the sakura tree as beautiful as the day she was fifty years ago. Goddamit now om crying!!!😭😭😭😭
You didn't have to, before watching this episode I was just rewatching the courtesan of a nation arc.... but yes, now that you have said , it reminds me of Shogun retainer and Suzuran's love story😭
"When he had spoken briefly with Baucis, Philemon revealed their joint request to the gods. '...since we have lived out harmonious years together, let the same hour take the two of us, so that I never have to see my wife’s grave, nor she have to bury me.'"
They hinted at this when they said the sand was still running out, even though the hourglass was flipped over to make them appear and feel young. That 50 years later stinger at the end of the credits was unexpected, but totally perfect!
Yeah, even without that accident, their times already up. The miracle likely meant to give them young bodies, not eternal (or longer) life. They satisfied with it though
It started like a light hearted story but ended in a sad tone albeit a bittersweet one 😢😢. RIP Grandma and Grandpa 🙏 I wish it would continue a little longer.
