I love how delighted Elijah was to discover that it was Dom. You can tell what good friends they are!

Elijah Wood did a lot of child acting! He appears very very briefly in Back to the Future 2 he's like 4 years old and so adorable. His eyes are the same size 🤣

I loved him in North as a kid. Apparantly that movie REALLY tanked. But I always loved it.

This is one of the best things on the internet ever, never fails to make me laugh.
"The dolphin is dead, did you know this?"
"No, I did not know that. That's terrible."
    _"Died in a car accident."_
    😂😂😂

You should definitely watch the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy. You would love it :D

The easter egg was hidden at the bottom of one of the menus if I remember correctly...I think for the main movie (which was split onto 2 discs). I think if you went down to the end of the menu screen and then pressed down again you could see it selected a random bit of the menu pattern underneath and that's where it was hidden! I didn't see it for ages I just heard about it 1 day and went to look. Ahh the days before mainstream internet 🤣

Omg, it’s so great that you react to that video. It has tradition in our household to at least watch this once a year. And the words “BIG BLUE!“ is used frequently. Great reaction as always Veggie!! And if you’ll really react to “They’re taking the hobbits to Isengard“, that would be awesome, it’s sooo catchy!

I've only seen the clip of the wigs bit. I don't think I knew it was a 'real' interview that Wood didn't know about. Makes it much funnier.

They did this during the press tour they were doing for the release of one of the movies (I can't remember which one anymore) and was a hidden Easter egg in the DVD menu. There was one for each movie and they're hilarious. Those would be fun to see a reaction to. I'd also love a cartoon reaction. The cartoon movies were my obsession as a kid.
When Dom was talking about the gay connotations between Frodo and Sam that's because people have been shipping them literally since the book was published. There's loads of people that read more then friendship in their relationship.
The LOTR cast is still very close to this day. Especially the 4 hobbits. Dom and Billy (Merry and Pippin) have their own podcast now and it's literally just them talking and sharing stories about their lives and making the movies and them playing and riffing off each other. Their friendship is beautiful.

What I will say about the hobbit book is that it was probably the best book to pad out for a movie because it is quite short, there were so many moments where the story cuts away from the action, the story or says like “a week later” etc. Also, some of what they added had been happening just away from Bilbo’s POV/narration etc. So tbh, when I read it I was like, wait a minute I want to see every moment!! However, I still do think they took a few liberties.

PLEASE do “They’re taking the hobbits to Isengard!” It’s so ridiculous and catchy, lol

I'd love to see you react to "Why we'll never see anything like The Lord of the Rings Trilogy again" by 2 Left Frames. While the official behind-the-scenes videos are certainly more comprehensive, they will take quite a lot of time and effort to watch and make videos for; and if you're up for it, then definitely do it. But if you'd rather a 40 minute video that really focuses in on the effort that went into this insane undertaking of a trilogy, I highly recommend this very well presented video.
Hell, if you're reading this, and you're not Veggie, you should also really watch it.

Would love to see you react to They're taking the Hobbits to Isengard! Any kind of lotr behind the scenes/cast content is fun to watch. Billy Boyd (Pippin) singing "The Last Goodbye" for the final Hobbit movie is really beautiful, there's a video here on TH-cam. He and Dominic (Merry) have a podcast called The Friendship Onion, I think you'll find it very enjoyable to listen to personally. There's a rap video made for the 20th anniversary of the LotR movies up on Stephen Colbert's channel featuring many of the cast members. What else? Probably any clip you come across with the actors on the Graham Norton show 😂 Have fun watching!

Hobbit is a bit more of a children's book compared to LotR which are more aimed to adult audience. It is still a very good and fun read.

The incredibles dvd had really good easter eggs, you'd wait for a logo to appear on the screen and maneuver to it, click on it, and based on what menu screen you were on, you would get a different clip.

Oh you should definitely check out the Ralph Bakshi animated movies, just for the fact that they're bat shit insane XD They did Sam soooo dirty though unfortunately, he's the clingiest creep ever...
And if you're up for some music related lotr content I'd HIGHLY recommend Blind Guardian's album Nightfall in Middle-Earth, based on the Silmarillion. It's absolutely fantastic - if you like metal ;) Still suggest you give it a go even if you're not into heavier music. No screaming though, just epic power-belting :D They also have a slower song called simply Lord of the Rings. There's two versions of that and I personally prefer the New version.

You'll decide for yourself, but for The Hobbit movies, "butchered" is definitely the right description. Every new attempt to put Tolkien's works onto the screen have gotten considerably worse every single time. I just don't understand why people who want to present stories that have already proven themselves just as they are feel like they have to change them so much. It's just ridiculous in my opinion.
