I love how even Dawn of War shits on Boreale. I like the theory that Kyras promoted him way too early so that he would get a good portion of the loyalists killed.
It makes sense. Cyrus always was a loner, an Outsider, even amongst his brothers. He was part of the Deathwatch, and organisation that thrives on individuals operating as a unit and combining their strengths, but never losing their individuality. And he was a scout Sergeant - an astartes who is charged to raise those under his jurisdiction into the next generation. He invests himself in them. In a sense, he has always been his own leader in most operations, and he would begin to question the actions and decisions of those in command. The taint of Chaos just brought this to the forefront. Also, you know... Boreale.
- As Cyrus exhaled his last breath, with a curse to his wretched fate and the uncaring universe in his lips, he knew he would forever be haunted by the voice that drew him to the Warp. A voice that repeated a single message that would echo inside his soul forever: "NO... YOU HAVE FEHLED... THE EMPRAH."

Tactical Project Even Terminators can be killed with a well-placed shot. And since Cyrus served in the Deathwatch, he's an expert marksman, even by space marine standards.
As Cyrus lay bleeding on the ground, the comrades he had betrayed watching over him as he died a slow death, a voice echoed deep within his mind, a fading memory or a vengeful spectre, he could not say for sure. But as his eye slowly close and the cold embrace of death took him, all he could hear was a bitter, hateful howl... "YOU HAF FEHLED.....TEH EMPRAH...."
DKHZStudio Well yeah. The traitor's actions damned many of his battle-brothers, including their leaders. Even if they'd betrayed the Emperor by this point, your characters aren't going to let that go.
Yeah i wish there was more choices when you are corrupted. Like joining chapter master and corrupted part of the chapter and for example kill angelos as final boss etc
This game could have benefited a lot from a multiple story paths setup. For example, if you hit a certain corruption level before the traitor is revealed you end up embracing Chaos and fighting Gabriel Angelos and Davian Thule instead of Ulkair. They already had multiple endings set up based on that mechanics so it is disappointing they didn't do more with that in the story.
I think Cyrus, left unchecked, would have developed a close relationship with Tzeentch. Although he possesses little to no psychic potential, he is a schemer who follows the path of ambition, like a true devotee of Tzeentch would. He wants to change and reshape the chapter, then the sector, then the galaxy at large. In Cyrus' mind, only he has the wisdom and cunning necessary to steer the galaxy right, and he has no more patience left for the fools who lead the Imperium in circles. In his mind's eye, he has already saved and reconquered the galaxy in a thousand ways, the Imperium has been wiped clean of all the stumbling fools that have led it astray, and his brilliant stratagems have ushered in a new golden age for the Imperium with himself at its head; he would go down in history and be remembered forever, perhaps even replacing the Emperor himself as humanity's one true savior. But like all who fall into Tzeentch's grasp, Cyrus' ambitions were his undoing, and ultimately, he was little more than an unwitting pawn in a much larger scheme by the likes of Kyras and Eliphas. But of course, Kyras and Eliphas would be undone in much the same way, as they, too, were little more than pawns in the endless unknowable schemes of the Architect of Fate, Tzeentch.
I agree with your accessment will add a minor point, people can develop psychic espeically from warp exposure, there is also a drug known as Spook which enhances Psykic powers and can even make non psykers manifest psykic powers, though if the user has a bad trip the demons they see might be a tad more litteral. Anyway Cryus could become a pysker or a sorcerer.
Man, this is the roughest turn. He just has nothing but contempt for his battle brothers. Avitus had some contempt, but he still respected his brethern. Cyrus has just felt so betrayed, that his advice wasn't listened to and that all his effort were just pissed away, he just feels better than everyone else.
I like to think that Relic decided that the canon ending of Soulstorm was the Blood Ravens' defeat, because it's the only game that they did not make, and also because the campaign was just a less good version of Dark Crusade's campaign. It's very meta.
Cyrus is right about one thing, Angelous is fool. It was his mistake to free that deamon back on Tartarus, because of him billions have died and it is him most of the chapter betrayed the Emperor.
Relic really cannot resist making fun of Boraele can they? I totally lost it when I heard Boraele effectively led half the chapter to their doom in the original campaign :D
years old but no. Eliphas gave him soldiers to further bring Cyrus into his cause. a man given soldiers thinks of the power he has and now since he has more men he can do even more damage to the world.
Cyrus is a sergeant and he can wear Power Armour should he so wish but his skills make him ideal as a Scout Sergeant. He has also gained plentiful experience during his time in the Deathwatch.
Cyrus is the most dangerous of all the traitors because of his allure. How is it, do you think, that whole chapters of Astartes fall at once? It happens when men like Cyrus, inflamed by the all so common destruction of their brothers in defeat and dishonor, gain influence. When, in the darkest hour of the only family they have ever known, a man who exposes their hidden enemies offers his hand and says *Join Me*. If he ever were more then merely the head of the Scout Company, the Blood Angels wouldn't have stood a chance.
+MetalSlimeHunt The fact that he was a Scout captain is scarier than anything else? How long was he corrupted? And how many prospective space marines were corrupted in turn?
+MetalSlimeHunt Well Cyrus didn't manage to corrupt any of his brothers. Kyras on the other hand made the Chapter implode in a massive civil war conducted mainly in the Chapter's Recruiting worlds in a time where they were just recovering from losing like three Companies...even in the end a couple of the worlds suffer an exterminatus...
Cyrus was by far my favourite character from DoW 2. He felt more human and noble than the other Space Marines. I really hope he appears in a future game. I know it’s not likely but it might happen
Same, he’s my favourite too, though I’m kinda glad he wasn’t in DoW 3, given the subpar writing. Still, I hope if we ever get a DoW 4 or another game around Blood Ravens, he’ll be included.
May the Emperor bless you, BigDickCheney, I don't have enough time to finish Dawn of War 2, with all the DLC's, with all the endings, for every race anymore, and your videos have held me over until I find the time to be able to play the game for more than 15 minutes at a time. Thank you, Brother.
Unrealistic. If Cyrus was anything like my playthrough of him, a pile of remote-detonated charges and cluster mines would be waiting for the drop pod just as it arrived.
Ahem. He was so competent he was chosen to be in the death watch. He trained most of the character you play in the game. He has more experience in the battlefield than anyone on the squad. He chose to be a scout, to train the futur generation not to be as clumsy and narrow minded as the one he saw die by his side on each battle. Frankly, he was the deadliest.
Yes any of your squad leaders can turn on you depending on their corruption level; the most corrupted will always turn on you; if none of your squads are corrupted then Martellus will be the one you have to kill. The only exceptions are of course your commander and Davian Thule as he's a dreadnought.
It's actually a pity you don't really have a say in joining him.... After all let's face it defeating Ulkair is a thankless task if you've become so corrupted Gabriel will want to execute you or your commander (now serving Chaos) flees after Ulkairs defeat. Killing Ulkair just loses meaning and purpose if corruption goes that far; IDK I'd quicker see your corrupted forces join Eliphias and go on a hunt for Gabriel instead.
